Suburban Propane

Suburban bought out my dealer about 2 years ago. They are now charging 2x the average price, deliver too early on automated delivery, and did not follow delivery instructions

See above but my other problem with the company is the tank they dropped off was 1 new and 1 reconditioned, about a month later I smelled gas I called and they came out ,I turned off all the electric and gas to the house at the mains ,it turned out to be a leak in the reconditioned tank . They replaced them quickly but no real sorry or apologies.

They have been nice. I had minimal interaction with them and I didn't have any problem with anything.

They were on time, very efficient, and good in their instructions on using the fireplace. Have had no problems with the fireplace or propane tank in the time since service. Felt price was very reasonable.

They dug it up and buried it and covered it and filled it with propane. We paid for an almost full tank of gas. Their price was better than the competition. Another company could not bury the tank and we wanted it buried. They are nice, I've talked with the office people and they are very friendly. They are who we will use for our propane.

In the beginning there was serious confusion about the date the work was to be done. After a few back and forth calls on Tuesday, the installer did the work Wednesday, November 23, 2011. We are entirely satisfied. The installer was very courteous and finished quickly. No mess. No mess of any kind!

For me, the true measure of any company will be found in its ability to fix messes. Suburban passed with flying colors. One of their bosses (maybe the boss), Scott, called Tuesday and we straightened out the confusion. Then the installer showed up on Wednesday and got us up and running. The mess was cleared up and we are happy.

7:59 am - service tech calls says he will be here 30-45 mins. I say perfect. The earlier the better. 8:13 am - same service tech calls says he rec'd a call to go out to Woodstock and will be here in a couple hours. I tell him this is not acceptable that we made this appt 2 wks ago and he said he was coming. He said his manager is now sending him to Woodstock and nothing he can do. 8:16 am - I call the Kingston office and tell them that a couple of hours later does not work for us and that we specifically made the appt for morning and today being its my husband's only day off. Martha said she would talk to the manager and call us back. 8:29 am - same tech calls us back says he is on his way and should be here shortly. 10:00 am - no one has shown up. I try to call Martha back and no answer. The call goes into the emergency line and I get Margie and she is one of the most rude people I have encountered. She takes my number and says I will see what I can do. I will try to get hold of a manage. 10:03 am - I call same tech from number on my caller id. He tells me he made it as far as Stone Ridge and got call from manager to go out to Woodstock. I tell him thats not right to keep us sitting here waiting and not knowing. He asks if Frank the manager had called. I tell him no one has called and that we will now go with another fuel company. He says that a Mike Palmer is supposed to come out and he will try to call him for us. He tells me that Woodstock called this morning and he had to go out there. I tell him that I called 2 wks ago and he changes his story that she called 3 wks ago. How convenient I say. 10:04 am - Mike is pulling into the driveway. He tells us that it was his day off and they called him in to do this job. He does not understand what happened. He tells us that they booked Woodstock and us at the same time. I ask why do we get a call that 1st tech is coming out and then he isn't. He can't explain it. 10:49 am - Mike is still out here working and my plans are shot. We had a 3 hr drive ahead of us that now its too late to leave and be back early. I rearranged my day to be able to be with my husband.
