Initially all seemed to go well. Joe seemed nice enough, and was referred by other people to us (although looking back not sure these other people know anything about ANYTHING). The job seemed to be moving on pace, until around the last week where, given the amount of work still left to do, there seemed no way that they would meet the timeframe before my family and I were to move in. So the pace was sped up, but clearly at the expense of quality and care. Examples of poor quality and care for the finished product as follows: 1. lack of finishing touches on installation of bathroom fixtures such as vanities, bathtub, and toilets 2. Without being given the options for toilet bowls, the contractor replcaed 3 old toilets with Glacier Bay (one of the worst models of the worst brand) eco-friendly toilets that barely flush, when Kohler toilets could have been purchased for similar money 3. In a double high-cieling foyer entry area, contractor painted entire entryway but you could see the seams of the sheetrock in all 3 walls. Rather than bring this to our attention and discuss options, he simply painted over it like it was nothing, and then said he was finished. Even an AMATEUR would have at least brought it to our attention, where they looking to be responsible. When questioned, his comment was "well, I couldnt do anything about it given your budget." Really? I then asked if he would think this was acceptable in his own home, which he agreed it would not be - but clearly it was OK for our home 4. We had agreed-upon payment terms, where he had agreed to give me an invoice for the final amount. When he showed up at my house to collect final payment, he had no invoice, and then got mad and irate about the situation, when in fact he was at fault. He actually became so obnoxious during the construction (imagine a tempermental cry-baby/man), that my wife couldnt even deal with him anymore. 5. Finally, less than 2 years later, I called him to stand behind the work he had done for us, as for some reason he thought a wooden frame around a window inside bathtub/shower would actually stand up to moisture, While we communicated around a month ago as to when he might be able to stop by at his convenience, he has since ignored every email and phone call attempt. Since this experience, I have used two other contractors for other work in my house, both of whom were either good or great! So this person/company is clearly sub par, and let anyone who thinks they are getting a deal by using them know that you are much more likely to NOT get what you are NOT paying for, as opposed to even getting HALF of what you DO pay for. He's terrible.
