Description of Work: Scheduling for an estimate/visit by a rep was 2 months out. Then they had to cancel at the last minute. I decided to decline a rescheduling as I didn't have time to wait another month for a visit. The lady on the phone was very professional and courteous. No hard feelings here. I had 4 other prices and was able to make my decision. I should mention that the companies i felt were the "top" contenders were all 4-8 weeks out for a visit. I decided to go with CT Basement Systems (the parent company).

Description of Work: They were to install a gravity flow pipe in basement to prevent water build up on back wall (facing a hill) during snow melt and heavy rain. They set to pipe so water had to RUN UPHILL to exit the basement. As a result there is often dampness over sections the pipe during heavy rain. I called. They came and used a hose to run water out the pipe and said 'everything is fine'....but running a hose at full power does not replicate the situation of rain seeping into the basement...rain water does not have the pressure of water coming from a hose. I still had dampness after heavy rain and during snow melt. My solution? I bought a full basement dehumidifier from Allergy Buyers club to keep the basement dry even during rain etc. This dehumidifier purchase cost money I should NOT have had to spend if the gravity flow pipe had been installed so the water does not to run uphill. BUT since they claimed everything was just fine and I did not want to face the long term effects of damp basement after rains, melting snow....I just decided to go in a different direction for my solution. and spent big bucks for a whole basement dehumidifier which takes up the wet after rains etc. Money I should not have had to spend if the gravity flow pipe had been installed so the water would run downhill...or at least not have to run uphill on its own. (They could have set a sump pump to raise the water up to the exit pipe.)

Description of Work: Basement Systems of NY waterproiofed our basement by installing 96' of Flo-Guard System on three sides of the basement and a Sump basin and Gravity Line out back. They jack hammered around the inside edge of the basement, placed the Flo-Guard, drilled small hole in the basement walls so the water that comes in will drain into the Flo-Guard system and drain into the sump basin. The ditch was filled in and cemented over. They dug a ditch out the side of the house, and out back for the gravity drain, checking the angle for proper drainage, placed the pipe and filled it in. All this was done in 12 and 1/2 hours mostly by hand pick and shovel. They cleaned up and discarded the excess dirt and cement. Everything was neet and clean when the finished.

Description of Work: The company explored various options explaining the pros and cons to resolve my basement flooding problem. Installed Dry-Trak system to prevent basement flooding on a monolithic floor. This system goes on the inside perimeter of the basement. Tapped into current drainage system in garage to provide added water removal, which saves the pump from continuous use. Reconfigured trak system to provide maximum protection which I greatly appreciated. I had also confirmed with other customers that have had this system installed and they were extremely satisfied.

Description of Work: I would describe the installation as Basement System's version of a french drain. A trench was dug on the perimeter of two walls in the problem room. In the closet of that room a closed sump pump system was installed with battery backup. After completion of the installation the floor was finished with concrete and a thorough cleanup performed.

Description of Work: They encased a large crawl space under the main living area of our house with a thick vinyl liner and installed a dehumidifier. The work is guaranteed against tears for 25 years. The two employees arrived as scheduled and completed the work in one day. The salesperson was friendly and professional - no high pressure sales tactics, unlike another company that had given us an estimate (for twice the price) the week before.
