Concrete Repair
They did an excellent job, were timely and they cleaned up after themselves. They were within the appropriate price range and we negotiated on the price. They also complied with their promise of what they were going to do to complete the job so they appear to be a responsible business that can be trusted. They seem to strive for excellence and customer satisfaction.

General Remodeling, Contractor Service + 2 more
Started with us getting an estimate and the contractor stating that he could start the next day. We accepted. Arrived the next day with a helper. My wife signed the contractor which stated 50% down, 25% and 25% upon completion. We gave him 50% the first day. The second day he asked for another 25% and my wife gave it to him. I noticed on the contract thast there was no mention of insulation to be added to the walls and ceiling. He said we never discussed this and I said we did. I agreed to pay him an additional $325 for this service. Since this job was a tear-out of the existing 2nd floor ceiling, which was the attic floor, I and others had concerns that this be done correctly to enable us to continue to walk and store things in the attic. His method was sketchy and after much discussion, we agreed upon a method to secure the ceiling/ attic floor. This was not done properly and more discussion as to how to fix their job. It was still not done to my satisfaction. He was also going to fix a small area above a cabinet with some pieces of drywall but then reneged on that and requested more money.
It was partially our fault for not having an estimated completion date so when the contractor up and took a week off for vacation during our job, I had nothing to say about it. He ended up not continuing the job after his vacation when he said he was coming back. Before he left he asked for more money and my wife gave him that as well. At that point we only owed him a few hundred dollars and he still had the drywall and painting to finish.
At this point he was running out of time, I was running out of patience and money. He had taken on another job and was now having a problem scheduling both jobs.
I ended up washing my hands of him and decided not to call him back to finish the job. I hired someone else and ended up paying another contractor $1000 to finish the job.
As nice as this contractor appears and as appealing as his estimate may be, I would be wary. If you decide to hire him, make sure that you get EVERYTHING in writing and get an estimated completion date and don't pay him before the contract says to pay him, unlike what we did.
I also wanted to add that his work hours were short as he generally arrived later than I would expect and left just around 1:30 - 2 most times to pick up his kid(s).
I may have more details to add to this as they come back to me...

Door Service
I called them to replace my front and back doors. We had found two doors that we like and my husband is a truck driver and is home 4 days about every 4 weeks. The back door needed to be opened up by about 2 inches. I didn't have much to work with as I was recovering from surgery and we needed this done before the weather turned bad.
