Dan was an excellent floor refinisher. He showed up everyday on time and was ready to work. His price was very fair and based on square footage. He worked with us on timeline for completion of job. We just closed on house and wanted to refinish floors before moving in. As for the craftsmanship, it was more than I could have imagined. That included handling the refinishing under radiators, in closets, installing a door saddle and even repairing some 2 inch holes that we discovered were in the floor when we pulled up the carpets. I think they were originally put there for cable line. Also, I should mention he handled this entire job, which included two full floors of a Dutch Colonial, by himself in 6 days. When it came time to choosing the stain, Dan prepared a few samples on the sanded floor so we could gage the actual look. The result was spectacular. I would recommend Dan to any one in need of an excellent professional floor refinisher. He is a small family business owner and very conscientious of his work ethic.

Being a kitchen design pro for many years, I am very picky about hiring tradespeople. Daniel at D&P https://dp-floor-sanding.negocio.site/ checked all the boxes I have when I look for a trade professional. He is HIGHLY skilled, has attention to detail, he's friendly, smart, courteous, patient, professional, his truck is clean (I look at that), he has good equipment, is always on time and NEAT. And, his prices were affordable and FAIR. Beyond all of that, he has great pride in his work which was delightful to see! Look no further! There is no box left unchecked! Even more than that, he used a finish that I specified, a product he had not used before - Rubio Monocoat Oil. It is an oil finish (not polyurethane nor water based polyurethane) that gives a beautiful, matte finish and does not have the plastic look that polyurethane has (IMO). It comes in many colors, is applied in one coat and completely bonds to the wood for a highly durable matte finish which is so elegant and stylish. He researched it on his own, EXTENSIVELY and did a perfect job. Be aware that it looks better on some wood species than others. If you mention this product to any other Long Island floor finisher, most likely they will say no way, no good, can't do it, disaster. This is a next generation product with 0% VOCs, applied in one coat, easy to maintain and repair and you can walk on it the next day. It's highly durable. If you want a matte/non-plasticy finished appearance and an expert floor finisher, call Daniel! He's probably one of a handful or less on Long Island who understands, believes in and appreciates this product. He'll do the regular poly finishes too, but I much prefer this finish and it worked out perfectly!

In the sea of contractors I've contacted for many different jobs in my newly purchased home, D&P Floor Sanding & Refinishing stands out among them. Daniel is courteous, knowledgeable, professional, responsive, highly skilled and takes his work very seriously. He explained each step, and the reason for what he was doing. He showed up on time and even worked 10 or 11 hour days when it meant having the floors ready properly for the next day's work! I did not have very high hopes for my floors after the house flipper from whom I purchased it gouged and then drowned the damage in puddles of dark stain. Daniel promised to do his very best and I am thrilled with the results, which went above and beyond even my highest expectations! The floors are absolutely stunning and I could not be happier. He vacuumed and cleaned up everything, better than it was before! Daniel's price was competitive, so I know it was fair. I would not hesitate to recommend him if you need to renew or restore worn, flawed floors. He even patched holes and put in a plank of wood that was missing at the top of my basement stairs! D&P flooring was absolutely amazing to work with. If you want quality work, reach out to Dan at D&P! Dan came to give an estimate within an hour of me reaching out. He was very honest and responsive throughout the whole process. Some areas of the original wood needed to be replaced or repaired. Dan committed a whole day at the house and was able to fix all the wood . Within 4 days Dan managed to sand, stain and finish all the hardwood floors throughout the house. We knew right away Daniel was the right person to hire soon after we spoke and he gave us an estimate. He arrived at our house at the exact time he said he'd be there. He was a complete professional. He was very knowledgeable about different hardwood flooring and explained what he would do in detail and what types of polyurethane we could use and what would work best for us. I also really loved that he worked solo. It was nice having only one person to communicate with and not having several people in and out of my house. I have a couple of dogs so my hardwood floors were severely damaged and he repaired them beautifully. Everything was done in a timely manner. He was trustworthy and dependable and my floors look amazing! I highly recommend him.

Outstanding work! Only 4 stars on the value for the money category because we felt the price was slightly high for only one room. But in Daniel's defense, we did not get any other estimates due to time constraints. So his price may very well have been competitive. But we went ahead regardless of the price because we were happy with the work Daniel did for us previously. We made the right decision. Daniel was on time every time we scheduled an appointment and did exactly what we agreed upon. The job was completed at the time he said it would be. He was neat and clean. The floor looks beautiful. We are very happy with the results. Would highly recommend him.

The work rates way more than a five. We would give them a ten across the board. We will be using them again for other floors that we want done.
