I called Crisafulli Bros. to repair three problems with my furnace: 1. The furnace would not run more than about 10 to 15 seconds (a new problem). 2. Sporadic short cycling (the furnace would run anywhere from a half a second to a minute, and then shut down (a long-term problem). 3. Leaking from the spin-on filter, a problem that had existed since the last cleaning and service, done on 8/13/09, by another company. I really liked the young man that Crisafulli sent to work on my furnace, but it was an odd experience, unnecessarily expensive, and unfair to the customer. It was completely obvious that the first problem was caused by the main control unit, because you could hear it short-circuiting, and see flashes around the reset button from the sparking going on inside the unit. This was correctly diagnosed by the technician, but it seemed to take him a long time to come to a final decision. To a point, I didn't mind this, because it was possible that this was a worsening of what was causing problem 2, and it was reasonable to try to determine whether this was the case. However, at $90 per hour, too much rumination gets expensive. I finally told him, "Look, just replace it, since we know it's bad, and let's see whether problem 2 gets resolved in the process." He did, and problem 2 and 3 remained. From this point, things got really strange. The technician would look at the filter for a couple of minutes, then look at the furnace for a couple of minutes, and so on back and forth. He discussed whether he had an oil filter wrench on the truck. Eventually he decided that the short cycling was caused by electricity shorting to carbon on the electrodes. I said that was not likely, since cleaning had not changed the behavior in any way. Electricity can't short-circuit to carbon that isn't there. He decided that he should order an electrode. Then he went back to look at the filter some more. I finally got into my tools and got him my oil filter wrench. He still never took the filter off to see what was wrong with it. He finally left, saying he would return to his office and order the part, and would return when it arrived. The biggest problem with Crisafulli Bros. was their total lack of reliability. I made 4 appointments with them. They were hours late for two of them, including one that the technician had called me and said he was on his way to my house. I got calls on the first two appointments, saying the technician would be late, but these calls arrived long after the technician was supposed to be there. The other two appointments they never showed up or called. I also found out they never bothered to order the part. After the fourth missed appointment, I told them that I was done doing business with them and not to call me any further. They had the nerve to put me on their mailing list. The technician from Roland J. Down took about 15 minutes total to diagnose both problems, and about 10 minutes to fix them. The oil filter leak was caused by the installer overtightening the filter, and the shortcycling was caused by a faulty thermostat.

After the "proposal and acceptance" phase was complete, a date was set for installation was set, thier schedule seemed very flexible, which I appreciated. On the agreed upon date, Nick, was knocking on my door at 8:45 am. Extremely professional and businesslike in manner, we introduced ourselves to each other and I showed him the exact location of the job, a rear entrance to be used and a request to monitor that entrance for possible escape attempts by the houseful of cats and dogs I share my home with. I told Nick if he needed anything where he could find me, the next thing I heard was Nick at the backdoor with the old heater out and in his truck along with the wrapping and boxing of the new unit, which was completely installed and vented to code. Nick spent some time not just showing me the owner's manual, but verbally walking me through relighting directions and the basic operation of the new heater. Looking around, both inside and out you'd never believe I had work done that morning. Everything was neat and clean with no evidence of packaging or disturbance in my basement! A job well done!

I woke up one morning to find we had no heat. We called Crisafulli Bros who responded promptly and figured out that the ignition on the furnace needed to be replaced. They got the part and replaced it within an hour and it's been working fine ever since.

They were wonderful. Prompt, efficient, courteous. Total satisfaction.

This was not the first time I used Crisafulli Bros. They sent a plumber within a couple of hours of my call. He arrived on time and fixed the problem without incident. I would call them again. They also follow up to make sure you're happy with their service.

We've used them before, and it's kind of potluck insofar as who comes out. We were not very happy with the people who came out to install the tank. One guy was on his phone half the time and they did not double check the type of connection which caused an electrical and clogging problem. We had to call them back twice. There was also some billing issues because we kept getting billed for when they came back out even though it was their fault in the first place.

Perfecto. So professional & friendly -- explained every step of the process. I am sold on using Crisafulli. I have used them once before. Sure -- thay are a bit pricey -- but, you want it done right the first time, don't you? Why mess around?

They are very professional and on time. The technicians seem to know what they are doing. I've had no problems with them. They might be a little pricey.

All the people I worked with were friendly and helpful, answering all our questions and working with us to achieve our goals. This was a great experience. Our water heater was installed by someone else before we bought the house. So I called up Crisafulli Bros Plumbing & Heating because they sold the same water heater model. They came out and looked at it. They realized that it was under warranty. So they bought a new one and replaced it with the old one. I had to pay only the labor charge since it was under warranty. They did a great job.

The process was painless. They came out and installed a new one quickly and professionally. It's been a few months, and I don't remember how much it cost. But the bill matched the estimate exactly.

I was expecting that both outdoor faucets would have to be replaced. However, the one that I thought was in the worst condition was repaired and the other was replaced. I was happy that the repair was possible and that only one of the leaky faucets had to be replaced.

They do our yearly maintenance, but I don't remember their charges. They have been around for a long time. They are very reputable. They come when they say they are going to come. I haven't used them for big jobs. I think they are a little pricey. It is only a cleaning. I haven't called them in the middle of the night, so I don't know about their responsiveness. It's a scheduled thing and they can come anytime.

They were professional. They came and did everything that we needed them to do. Now the furnace is running great.

Great. The crew arrived on time, dismantled the existing system, installed the new system and met with the building inspector to have all work approved. The installation took about 7 hours from start to finish. Everything works perfectly.

I did not hire them. I wasn't going to spend $125 to find out that they can't find the source of dampness in my bathroom or that the fixtures can't be changed.

Respinded same day. Vey efficient use of time while at the house. Asked if there was any additional work, and there was, which saved the service call cost in the future. This company's prices are competitive, but they are not discounted.

They were very helpful and they did an excellent job. I was pleased to end up spending less than I originally planned. They were very good about coming out on time and being professional.

At time appointment made the rate structure was explained ($125/hr, 1/2 hour charge for travel time, plus parts), appointment was for next day service between 10am and 2pm and worker called to advise he was running late and 30 minutes later called to say he was on his way. The phone calls were appreciated. Worker was courteous and professional and did a good job.

He worked quickly and efficiently. He figured out the solution within about 20 minutes and fixed it within 20 minutes.

I called on a Friday evening after hours, since our water heater was leaking all over the basement floor. They gave us a quote on a new water heater and said they could come out right away or wait until Saturday morning, and that there was no difference in the price for the two different response times. We were charged for having service after hours, and I think it was $100. Our water heater was a larger model -- over 50 gallons -- and the price they quoted (including the after hour charge) was $1635.00. They came to the house and drained the old water heater with their own equipment (we don't own a sump pump), and replaced it with a new one. They worked quickly and were pleasant to be around. They showed us how to adjust the temperature and how to perform maintenance on the heater before they left. The heater has worked fine since them (about a month now). A few days after they left, we received a check in the mail from them for $35, with a note explaining that they had mistakenly charged us for a city fee that wasn't required in our area. So the total cost was $1600 even.

They were reliable. They sent 2 people out and finished the work in one day.
