 + -1 moreThere are so many employees there it is hard to judge everybody. I don't know if it was this time, but I remember going in there and asking somebody for something and they rudely implied they did not work in that section as opposed to them helping me find somebody that did work in that section. They have these self service lines so my interaction with the cashier was minimal. The thermostat was pretty nice and had the features on it that I wanted, but I thought it was a little bit more costly that than I thought it was worth. It is doing exactly what I wanted. It was a little bit costly. I had have not had any problems with the quality of the product; it is working fine.
Description of Work: I bought a higher end thermostat at Home Depot.

 + -1 moreThe service was not good. They swapped it out to another company, basically they're not doing it. So I had problems with the design, what the designer built was not what they actually brought to install, they weren't able to actually physically build what the designer originally design and sold us. It was past due when it's supposed to have been done, they had to come back out because they did not bring some of the items that were in the design work and it only took me getting a hold of a manager to have someone come out to finish the projects. They were not good. The final product once they got it all done, the quality of the product when it was finished was reasonably good. The workers came when they said they were coming. I thought the installers were pretty professional but the sales person and through the management, I was not very pleased.
Description of Work: I used The Home Depot for an office built in and I did my master's bedroom closet built in and I spent about $6000.

 + -1 moreThey installed it the same day and it was fabulous. The contractor has a whole truck of water heaters. They charge based on what they have to do. I also wanted a recirculating pump but they didn't have that on the truck, so they deducted the cost for that from the final bill.

 + -1 moreWe had them measure and install wood shutters to separate the two rooms. The man who measured was prompt and carefully measured the doorway. The installer called to make an appointment, arrived on time, was courteous and efficient. The shutters on the doorway are beautiful. The entire experience was great!
Description of Work: Home Depot, through Avalon Wood Shutters, put up all of the shutters in our home. This particular job involved putting shutters on a 6 1/2' x 6' doorway leading from the living room to the dining room.

 + -1 moreI'm surprised Home Depot didn't care about obtaining our business.
Description of Work: A representative came to the house to give a free estimate on replacing our air conditioner. This free service is promoted in the store. When signing up, we were given a hard time about both "decision makers" in the home having to be present for the estimate. We convinced them to come while just one person was home. The gentleman that came to my home was very nice, knowledgeable, but didn't seem to want to give the most cost effective estimate. He recommended an entire system replacement, while every other estimate we received advised just replacing the condenser. He proceeded to guesstimate the cost range and then said he would get back to me with an official estimate. He said he was going to do a "load analysis" and call me back in three days. He left without giving me a card, receipt, or any way to contact him. I did not hear back from him in four days, so I called Home Depot and they tracked him down. He gave me a sorry excuse phone call and I haven't heard from him since. So, an estimate was never provided.

The man at the store was very helpful in showing me what they had to offer and what system would work the best in my home. They were able to get it installed with no problems and didn't take long for them to do it.

 + -1 moreHome Depot sent 2 knowledgeable men to install my new water heater & I was pleased with their prompt response to my needs. The old tank was leaking, it was time to replace it, & I wanted to buy a larger tank. The servicemen from Home Depot did a great job of getting the old one removed & the new larger system installed properly. I buy a lot of things from Home Depot & they always send professional people to do their service work.
Description of Work: A few days ago, I had a new water heater installed by Home Depot. The old one was removed as it was leaking. The new one has a 50 gallon tank.

 + -1 moreHome Depot did an outstanding job redoing our floors. All the floors look great and we were very happy that we decided to call Home Depot. The sub contractors they sent us did everything right the first time and we felt the price was reasonable for what we had done.
