Artistic Iron Works

We hired Artistic Iron Works to custom make a security door for our home because our neighbors used them and they received a beautifully crafted door that fit perfectly. We visited the showroom to look over their products and signed our contract to begin our project, putting 50% deposit down. We were told our door would be installed in 2 weeks. Apparently when the person who did the measuring came out he mismeasured the opening so when the installation team came the door was a bit oversized (like 1/2 inch too big). Obviously this wasn't our fault but would later be used against us. So with the disappointment of not having our door on time we asked for a little extra on the paint job for our inconvenience. Our sales associate said she would do it herself just to make me happy. So with that all was well until they returned to install the corrected door. It was now a much shorter door (approx 3 inches shorter) that had a huge gap at the bottom stoop where rat size critters could enter into the house through this gap. The door handle was way too high and look really stupid. I was really upset that our custom door was not so custom after all. I could have gotten the same type of fit buying from a home improvement store. When I complained I was met with ridicule ranging from "it's a security door, not a bug proof door", or "it's a perfectly good door" to finally "you're the type that will never be satisfied". Now I know the door's main purpose is security but you can't really have a security door and a screen door in the same opening so with a custom door you should be able to accomplish both. They know this but chose to fight on the semantics of it. Luckily I was given a refund with the advice to go somewhere else for my door. Would not recommend due to their inability to measure properly in the first place then acting like it's our fault and that we are just too difficult to deal with. Terrible customer service!!!!

Artistic Iron Works service was deplorable. They cut the fence wrong and then told me too bad. They put it in the wrong place. They punctured my irrigation system. I have two areas, one is artificial grass and the other is rock. The fence was supposed to separate the areas and fence my dogs off from the pool. They installed it wrong so it overlaps the grass and some of the rock. They wouldn't recut the fence and told me they'd keep the money. There was a corner piece that came off from a column which had to lie so it separated the grass from the rock/pool area. They cut it short. They waited me out, my dogs fell in the pool twice so I gave up and had them install it. The guy was entirely belligerent and rude. His name is David. He did come back and fix two of the three areas that they punctured in my irrigation system, but the attitude was "We're doing you a favor." They have the attitude that they're not responsible but if they'd put it where I wanted it they wouldn't have punctured my system. I believe they measured wrong but because they'd invested the money in the materials they wouldn't waste it, so they said "too bad". There were threats of violence by the workers also. They put in gates that were coming out of the cinder block wall within two weeks.

The showroom has a husband/wife team who push very hard for their commission. When I told the wife I hoped to hold the cost to $2000, she immediately started to treat me as if I were not worth her bother. It was nearly impossible to get pricing on different designs to find out which would be in my range. Everything was quoted as a full package. When I asked for more economical suggestions, none was forthcoming. She dismissed me to the stack of books of photographs - once again, no pricing.I had another company do the work for only $1,375 - and it was exactly what I wanted! But they had no middlemen getting a cut for commission... While the work in the Artistic Iron Works shop and the photos looked top quality, the personnel and pricing left a lot to be desired. This outfit will never get a positive recommendation from me.

Price included installation. All fencing installed and fit beautifully. Gates work very nicely, including electronic lock in one. Fencing and gates installed 2 days earlier than promised. No debris left after installation Had a problem with one fence section (angled grade) and took section back to shop to rebuild so end result was flawless.

I wanted a railing type of barrier to prevent my dogs from going from the kitchen/dining room into the living room. I took photos and drew a hinged railing, complete with dimensions, and brought them to the store. The people were friendly and very helpful. That afternoon they came and measured the area. We discussed the design, as I wanted it to match the staircase railing. A week later, two installers came and put it up. They were on time and very courteous. They touched up the railing and cleaned up after themselves. Everything was perfect. I would use them again in a heartbeat. Actually, I did, for something minor, and was completely satisfied.

Artistic Iron was timely and professional in all aspects of the job in the end. Upon delivery, the doors lacked 2 features contracted for. They proceeded with the installation. The next day they returned and added the features missing which were extra iron covering the open area between the door and the frame, and a rubber "broom" on the bottem of the doors.l I plan to buy 4 more doors from them.

My wife and I went to Artistic Iron Works show room on June 19th and picked our the fencing and gate that we wanted fabricated. We were treated first class by everyone there. We were given a quote that was to us a great price, especially after being quoted more than twice the amount by another competiter.The most amazing part was getting everything installed within one week. The fence and gate has increased our home value, but more importantly, just made a great area for us to have our morning coffee outside.We would recommend Artistic Iron Works to anyone. I had an estimate from Dallas which was excellent. He covered all of my concerns and was knowledgeable about what I would need to accomodate my small dogs. The installation took two days. The crew worked continuously and were very nice to have at my home. At the end of the day my yard and property were cleaned up as if no one had been there. My property looks great and I have had many compliments. I would recommend this company to all.

The quality was very good. Their prices are competitive.

We are happy with the gate and the service and the price. They have a very large inventory of gates and fences. We dealt with the salesman Larry who was very helpful and cooperative. When looking for a gate we first went onto Angie's list and Artistic Iron Works was the most highly rated among gates. Everything worked out very well.

They were friendly and professional. We think that they could improve on their pricing.

We contacted Artistic Iron as one of our three estimates for the indicated work and they sent out Jimmy Hintunen. He was great! He indicated that he was once a fabricator for Artistic Iron, but had moved to sales. This helped immensely when we were at a loss for a design for our gate. We had spent hours on the internet looking at pictures but still did not know exactly what we wanted. Jimmy designed it right there on the spot for us. He also followed up in a non-pushy manner afterward while we were gathering our other two estimates. In the end, Artistic came in middle of the pack on our three estimates (others were Strictly Iron and EPI). We felt most comfortable with Artistic, however, and it paid off! There were three things besides Jimmy that put them over the top: 1- they showed up with the gate and it was initially 2" too wide. Before returning to their shop to make adjustments, they noticed bolts sticking out of the ground where our old gate was, identified them as a safety hazard and cut them off so no one tripped before they returned. 2- they went over and above to work with us on our gate color as our HOA was being sticklers about the exact color. Artistic put two different types of paint on to meet the HOA requirement. 3- they made an on-the-spot adjustment on the gate opening, which we requested, during install, which made the gate more functional than it would have otherwise been. Bottom line- we would definitely use them again!

Everythiing went very smoothly from the initial call for service, to the professional who came out to review the problem and give an estimate for the repair/replacement,to the negotiation of price and the final installation. Very satisfied.

Estimater arrived ontime, provided options. Aranged for deposit and work was completed, installed when promised. Gate works well, including custom fit pieces required (rollers and end caps.

Came to the house to show samples and look at doors. Installed while not home. As security doors they are are very nice and the style has added to the look of the house. We are very happy with them.

We met at the house. A few days later we visited their shop on Charleston Blvd and we were impressed with their work. We worked with the designer. They came back and measured. About two weeks later they installed the gate.

The job went very well. They were efficient and we liked the design. The work was fine. We have recommended them to our neighbor but I am not sure if they have used them or not. I would say that they did a good job.

We started getting bids for a pool fence towards the end of July, first of August. We weren't sure when the pool would be finished or when we would have funds to pay for the fence. Also, we weren't sure exactly what we wanted. Artistic Iron salesman, Jimmy, was very patient and courteous. Each time we changed our minds, he provided a new price within one or two days. He also called back several times (at our request) ro see how close we were to actually installing the fence. I think we had four or five changes before we finalized the actual product. Artistic Iron gave us the best price, it was about 40% less than other bids. They had the fence ready in about 2 1/2 weeks. We had a problem with one of the locks and they came out in two days to replace it.We are happy with the fence and actually enjoyed working with the company. Their receptionist was also courteous and helpful.

I am very happy with the work completed by Artistic Iron and would be more than happy to recommend them.

Overall, I was happy with their service and work. However, I wish they would have let us know when they planned on arriving ahead of time.

Poorly...would never call them again. Just a waste of time.

I feel I got a very competitive price for the work I had done . My salesman was a guy named Rick Mann and I was very impressed with how hard he worked on this job for me. I have different taste than most people and he was able to take my vision and draw it up on paper. The job looks fantastic and I have had neighbors ask me for your number. Thank you guys so much, I am so pleased.

We wanted good quality security wrought iron installed. We did use Angie's List to work off of and had more than one company out to our house. We chose Artistic Iron Works over the others because Rick (salesman) really showed the interest to help us decide on the style, color, and security of the product. And he answered my numerous questions to my satisfaction. Security was the #1 most important factor in our final decision and we didn't want our house to look like a prison. We couldn't be more pleased with the installation, the eye-appeal of the window coverings and the doors, and the service provided by Rick and the installers. We will definitely recommend this company to our friends in the future.
