We recently moved to Henderson from Seattle. I was anxious when my car needed repairs since I didn't know any local vendors and have had some terrible car repair experiences in the past. So I did research on Angie's List and read about Newby's. I scheduled an appointment and took the car in. They assessed the situation and called for approval for work. I was having shimming in my steering wheel - rotor issue. I was braced to hear the cost to replace it but NO were able to repair it. What?!! You mean they didn't try to get extra $ out of me?! Awesome! They also did some other work and when we went to pick up the car we were only charged for the rotor repair. They have such integrity and are extremely honest. Even though we will be driving back to Seattle this summer our car service will always be at Newby's. We will be a loyal customer forever!

The 'Check Engine' light came on our 2008 Ford Fusion and, of course, panic sets in - anything could be wrong!  We went to Newby's - they ran a diagnostic and got back to us in a couple of hours.  All it needed was a new gas cap (Ford Fusion cap recommended - not generic)!  Julie was very helpful, and her son Tyler provided pick-up service.  It could have easily cost us hundreds (or thousands) ... but, clearly, they choose to be honest.  This is a family-run business and definitely where we will have our cars serviced from now on.  Highly recommend!

It was good. They got the job done on the same day. The price was reasonable. I never had any problems with the work they did on my timing belt. I've never had to take it back.

It went well except for the fact that they quoted me more for my struts than my timing belt. I told them I got a better price and they met it!

When I picked up the car after the power steering pump was replaced, I was advised of the probable rear differential problem and I made arrangements to bring the car back. They took care of getting me a great deal on a rental car and even took me over to get it. When the rental car was not ready, they took me to work and came back for me when I got off work. I had questions about the repairs and even though Conley, the owner, was out of town on vacation, his daughter made arrangements for me to be able to talk to him on his cell phone so that I understood my options. The car was repaired in a very timely manner, and they could not have been any more helpful. From start to finish, as frustrating and worrisome as car repairs often are, it was a pleasure to deal with everyone at Newby's. I highly recommend them and will not take any vehicle I own now, or in the future, to anyone else.

I am so thankful that I found these guys. I have lived in the valley for 8 years and am very picky on who I let touch my car. I found Newby's on Angie's List. They are honest and explain everything that they do to your car. I had a wobble in my car and they looked at it and found that my new tires hadn't beaded and fixed that free of charge. I needed a oxygen sensor and rear brakes and they gave me an estimate and it would have been true to that, but they found that I needed a fuel sensor and they knew that I was strapped for money and they cut me a break on the labor. I will be telling everyone that will listen about Newby's. They are so very nice and they keep you informed as to what is going on with your car through the day. Thank you Julie and crew...YOU ARE AWESOME!!

We have had both of our cars repaired at Newbys, over the last few years. They have consistently been helpful and honest. We will not take a car anywhere else now, as we completely trust them. Our Chrysler had serious issues with the transmission, and after checking it out, they called and quoted us over $2,000 to get it fixed. Conley called back a few minutes later to tell us he thought it was still under warranty. Since we had bought the car used, it never occurred to me that it was still covered. SO due to their honesty, we took it to Chrysler to get it fixed. Newbys did not even charge us for the labor to find the problems. They easily could have fixed it, taken our money and we never would have known. Needless to say, we have continued to be loyal customers. They will always have our business. Any repairs we have had done there have gone very well.

They check for the Problem Code and told me is was Gas Cap Leak.

I told they No, that I had checked for that.
They then smoke tested the system. Found that the gas cap seal had a small crack.
They told me I should get a new gas cap from a Subaru Dealer. I did that the next day.

They all so checked for a faulty Tire Pressure Indication.
They told me I needed to stop by a tire shop and get the tire sensors checked, which I did the next day.

Total cost at Newby's was $65 for the Check Engine Code and 2 hours of diagnoustics.
$25 at the Subaru Dealer for the gas cap.
$60 at a tire shop for a tire pressure sensor

All Problem Lighs OUT.

Newby's has 2 New Customes, Me for the Subaru and my Wife for Her Car..

We had and quot; Service Vehicle Soon/Anti-Lock/Low Tracand quot; warning lights show up on the dashboard of our 2001 Alero, and my husband thought there was something wrong with the ABS system, or the brakes in general. I told the service people at Newby's that we wanted to make sure our brakes were working properly, and that we were new to the area and didn't want to drive an unsafe car or experience a breakdown on roads we weren't familiar with. So I brought the car in at 9AM on a Friday, and it took about an hour for them to check it out. They told us the brakes were fine, but that we needed a wheel sensor. They could easily have said that we needed a brake job, because we pretty much told them that's what we thought the problem was. I was dealing with Julie, and she was extremely nice. She had to order the part and said the car would be ready at about 2 o'clock, because it would take about an hour or so to get the part delivered. She offered to take me home, or wherever I wanted to go, while the car was being repaired. Their shop is about 5-10 minutes from Galleria Mall, so that's where I had her take me.
Everyone who came into the shop while I was there seemed to be dealing with them for a while, and Julie and her Dad knew them by their first names and were very friendly. So I had a nice day at the mall, our car was repaired for a reasonable price, and we feel that we found an honest, family-run repair shop that we could trust. We wish they were open Saturdays, but you can't have everything--they deserve a life away from work, too.

We love their service. They are always dedicated to customer service. We've been using them for a few years. They seem to be very genuine. They don't try to find things wrong with our cars to fix. If they don't find anything, they will send us on our way and they won't charge us. Parts are expensive and they can't really control that. We will absolutely use them in the future.

Our car was towed to a dealership which wanted to charge twice as much as Newby's, so I towed it to Newby's to get it fixed. The daughter of the owner drove me to a car rental place because they had to keep my car overnight. They try to get you the best price possible. The owner called me and told me he got me a new radiator for $100 cheaper than he quoted me.

Newby's was recommended to us by a family friend and this is definitely where we will be taking our vehicles for every repair, large or small. it is owner operated and Newby himself calls and lets you know what he thinks the problem may or may not be. He doesn't seem to be in the business to gouge people like most in the auto repair industry, rather his aim is to provide quality service at a fair price. One example of this is I had a broken headlight that I thought was easy to fix, just buy the bulb and replace it, easy enough. When I got into the grill, I discovered there was a lot more than met the eye and it was definitely above any meager mechanical skills I had. I called the shop just to see what they'd charge and was told, "oh, $10 if it's straight forward, if not, it'll be $25". I thought it was fair and took my car in. 10 minutes later, Mr. Newby walked into the office and said I was ready to go. When I went to settle up, he said, "don't worry about it, it wasn't as bad as we thought and you provided the bulb so it's really no trouble". I was blown away to say the least. Another example came about 3-4 months after "the light bulb". My wife reported hearing a funny noise coming from the front end. With an older model car, we didn't want to take any chances and took it in right away. She described as best she could the problem and Connolly (Mr. Newby) took it out for a test drive. He said he couldn't hear what my wife was describing and asked if we could leave the car for the day and maybe overnight so they could really take a close look at it. I thought for sure they'd "find something wrong" and it would be costly. The next afternoon, Connolly himself called and said, "I'm not telling you your wife is hearing things because she drives this car more than any of us but we just can't find the problem she's describing. We've taken apart some of the outer layers just to see if there was some kind of brake wear or something along those lines, but everything seems fine. I don't feel comfortable telling you it could be this or that when it probably isn't and then have to charge you an arm and a leg to just confirm what I've just told you. Structurally , the car is sound and she is in no danger safety-wise. If she hears it again, have her bring it in right away and we'll stop whatever we are doing and go for a ride with her to see what she hears." I said ok and came down to pick up the car and again, no charge. I am amazed by this man's integrity in such an industry that is known for just financially ripping people's wallets open. If you want a good, honest mechanic this is your place. Bottom line.
