The gentleman was prompt, concisely detailed in his explanation, provided a written  report of the crawlspace , and has a courteous and professional manner.

When you find a bad mold problem in your house it is very stressful.  We contacted 2 other companies before getting a quote from New Mexico Restoration.  The other 2 companies have good ratings on Angies List, which are why we started with them and in the end it turned out to be a horrible experience and we lost all faith in this industry. It's clear that when you are dealing with mold you are in a vulnerable position and at the mercy of those who are more experienced and knowledgeable.  Although New Mexico Restoration wasn't the cheapest option, they were the only ones who were open to alternative demolition options to fixing the mold problem.  They were kind, professional and honest in a way the other companies were not.  The other companies were only concerned about what was the easiest method for them to get to the problem and make sure they would get a clean test at the end of the remediation.  The end result of massive amounts of demolition and the mess you are left to figure out on your own isn't part of the quotes and neither is the independent testing to make sure the areas are free from all mold.  New Mexico Restoration did a great job of keeping the demolition to a minimum, yet ensuring that all mold was removed and a clean test was returned.  They did a great job of cleaning up after themselves as well, which was a nice surprise. 
It is a pain to delay getting your problem fixed by getting multiple quotes, so save yourself the time and hassle and try this company first.

Finding someone to go up to the mountains was hard. But NM Restoration (with an office in Rio Rancho) was absolutely the best company to work with. Others I called were wishy-washy even on the phone. One company, Rockefeller, didn't have a 4WD, and told me they would have to rent a vehicle! Yet, their ad said they go to the mountains! NM Restoration (Patrick Wallace) brought in  large fans to dry things out, and worked with the contractor on coordinating work dates at the property, and treating for mold. It took a week to dry things out.

I was very pleased with the professionalism, and that the company met the federal standards for mold removal, etc. Invoicing was prompt and detailed, and whenever I called with questions, I got answers immediately. I would not hesitate to recommend them. the company also goes by the name of Chem-Dry. I thought the price was high (but, too, the property was not the easiest to get to), but then, I think all companies are high on their quotes when they learn you do have insurance. Nonetheless, I still had a $4000 deductible on my HO insurance.

If you are reading this, chances are you are concerned about your health or that of someone you love.  I got deathly sick because we opened up the ceiling above our master bath during a remodel project.  Where I grew up mold is as common as dirt, and I didn't think too much about that old roof leak damage.  But I slowly developed symptoms, most of which weren't obvious like itching all over after a hot shower.  It wasn't until I called 911 because I couldn't breathe that I realized something was seriously wrong.  My doctor said, “Get out of your house until this is dealt with!”

I’m telling you all this for a couple of reasons.  First, I contacted most of the top rated places listed on Angie’s List.  Frankly I wasn’t impressed.  I then did some old-fashioned research and found New Mexico Restoration through the website of one of the certification organizations.  I was impressed by the owner’s professionalism and sensitivity to my medical needs.  I chose them and am glad I did.  It wasn’t just that they did a good job clearing the mold out of my house, but they genuinely seemed to care about my health like I was one of their own.  And the two men who did the actual work were very conscientious and friendly.  They made sure that everything they did was what I wanted before they started.  I was very comfortable with the work.  They made sure the area was tested by an independent professional to make sure all the mold was out and it was OK for me to move back in.  They even did some extra work at their own expense  to satisfy the air quality testing firm, which I appreciated.  In short, I was totally satisfied with their work and recommend them without hesitation.
