D & J Pipe Specialist

D&J came out to install a water softener. There was no existing hookup for a water softener, so he said he would have to create one. I expected this, so I asked him how much his hourly rates are. He said he doesn't charge hourly because some people he knows just drag the job on and on and bilk the customer. So I asked how much he would charge me. The guy wanted to charge me $1100! I could not believe my ears. Even at 150 an hour (which is ridiculously high) that would be a 7.5 hour job. I got a second opinion from a reputable company in ABQ (TLC) and they said 5 hours at 105/hr. THAT is reasonable. Needless to say, I sent him away. I was very upset at his brazen overcharging.

This company came to my home to complete a job that another plumbing company had left incomplete. They arrived promptly and performed the work quickly and efficiently, installing the parts that I had ordered. The plumber was very polite and friendly both on the phone and in person and was very willing to help.

I was told by Sears that the installer, whose name I didn't know until today, would call to arrange a time to do the installation. Nobody called me. I called Sears on the 24th to find out when the installation was going to happen, and they said it was scheduled for the 27th. I indicated that the installer was supposed to call me to let me know if they could do it sooner. Sears called the installer, left messages and sent them an email to have them call me. Nobody called me. I was also informed by Sears that since I was scheduled for an installation on the 27th that they would call me the night before. Since the night before was Thanksgiving, I was then told that I would get a call Wednesday night. Nobody called me. This morning I called Sears again to find out if the installation was going to happen today. They called the installer and left a message and also gave me the installer's name and their phone number. I called D & J, spoke to somebody who took my name and number and said they would call me right back. An hour passed and no call. I called them back and got an answering machine. I left a message and then called Sears back and told them that the installer said they would call me right back but didn't. Sears tried the installer and got their answering machine as well. The installer finally called me and said that he had my dishwasher and was on his way over. I indicated that I wasn't ready for him since he never told me what time to expect him. I also told him that he said he'd call me right back. The installer's response to my comments was that he didn't like my attitude. I told him that he was the reason for my attitude. He then told me that he was taking the dishwasher back to Sears and was refusing to do the installation.

THE GUY WHO CAME OUT TO THE HOUSE SEEMED LIKE HE REALLY KNEW WHAT HE WAS DOING. HE DID A REALLY GOOD JOB CLEARING THE PIPES. I WOULD RECOMMEND THEIR SERVICES ANY DAY.
