The job went very well. The team of 2 were very professional and explained everything that they were going to do before starting the work. They estimated the complete effort would take 3 to 4 hours and that was what the job took. Upon completion of the work, they re-ran tests with me so I could see that everything was performing as expected. They answered all my questions and were extremely patient and thorough. The devices that they provide e.g. the thermostat appear to be high-end and a bit pricey. But I am comparing their devices to the ones provided by my builder when the home was built in 2006 which may have been on the low-end of the scale. For example, the electronic media filters used by my developer are no longer being made. This was my second time using Friendly Electric. Previously in June 2013, they replaced all of my original smoke and CO2 detectors. That was a very successful work effort as well.

A great overall job.. thorough and professional

I responded to an Angie's List ad for furnace maintenance. The Serviceman's name that I dealt with was Ryan of Friendly Electric Heating and Air. We have a gas fired hot air system. Ryan was a pleasure to deal with. He was very courteous, professional, and highly skilled. He explained what was involved in the service, and answered all our questions. This service was done prior to our turning on the furnace for the heating season. The service revealed that our ducts needed cleaning. We scheduled a date and had that done. The process of duct cleaning involves every room in the house that there are heat registers and cold air returns. Ryan was a pleasure to work with, always polite, and always careful with our stuff. By the time all required service was complete, my wife and I felt confident that our system will function as intended. I was impressed with how the company communicated with me. I was informed just when Ryan would arrive. Communication is important to me, and these days somehow has become a lost art. The office staff at Friendly Electric kept me informed as to Ryan's arrival time. My wife and I really appreciate this. I would recommend this company to friends and family.

The company of 2 men that came out were terrific! They worked hard, were nice, and knew what they were doing. They worked steadily until they were finished. The only reservation I had was that I thought the price was a little high. I was shocked at the extra expenses and mainly the cost of the fixtures.

Dan was very professional and was able to do the job as requested. He made sure to tell me all the pros and cons ahead of time, including the worst case scenario. Thankfully, we didn't have the worst occur, and he was able to move boxes for light fixtures with a minimum of damage to the walls, but it's nice to know ahead of time that the contractor will tell you the problems, just in case they do occur.

They need to get it done in a hurry so they showed up and got the work done. They were very prompt and gave me an estimate right away. They did the work within the estimated cost.

They were very good and I have used them before. I would not use them for the second and third time if I thought that they were bad. Their service and pricing were good. They were straightforward on what needed to be done.

I needed to remove old nob and tube wiring from my home recently. I had no idea what to do. I got several estimates from various companies and as a single parent I thought I would be taken. The first man would have done the work for less but would not do any patch up if any damages. The second company would do it for almost 17,000.00. The last company I called was Friendly Electric Heating and air in Milltown, new Jersey. There office is a few doors down from where i live. I called and got an appt. My electrician was brian. He went threw the house and said that he could handle the job. Brian impressed me with his skill. He and his assistant handled the job efficiently. kept everything clean. While doing the job he noticed a few things that i would need done at a later date with a plumber. I am so confident in this company that i want to share this with you. They are now my electrical guys if i ever need work

This is the second time i have used this company. Their electrician, Brian, is very professional and knowledgeable. Brian also did the first job i hired this company for, and was so good that i requested him for this job. He did the design & layout, and installation of the recessed lighting. He made sure to cover his shoes so he didn't get my new light color carpeting dirty, and covered the dining room floor with a drop cloth. He made the holes so perfect that it did not damage the ceiling at all. Now, as far as their office goes, very poor response. Don't get me wrong, they are friendly, but when you call to set up appointments, about a job, or products they promise you a call back and never do. You end up having to call them every time. Their electrician Brian is the only reason i put up with it (he is that good) They offer $25 referrals. I referred my neighbor who used them over the summer and didn't receive anything. I had to called several times about it before receiving the referral bonus. Makes me wonder how many people i referred to them that used them.

We had a leak from our boiler and called Friendly. They were able to come out the same day that we called, and although they were running only a little late from the prior job they called twice to give us an ETA. Randy was very knowledgeable, friendly and professional. He gave me a good description of the problem and was able to fix it during his visit. They also called immediately after the service to see how things went. I gave a B for price but I don't have much of a reference for this type of work. I will certainly use them in the future.

All of the individuals I dealt with were very professional.The technician showed up on time and was ve ry knowledgeable and very patient in explaining the work that needed to be performed. To may surprise he mentioned that he would be the individual to perform the work that he quoted. I felt a great deal of confidence in the organization and this young individual. I did ot not proceed with the project at this time, but it had othing to do with the organization. When I am readyto do the work they will be contacted

They were excellent. They were very knowledgeable and professional. In fact, I told my neighbor about them, and she had them come within the last few days. She was very satisfied with them, as well. They repaired a refrigerator for her. She thought they were very good. They were on time, and they knew what they were doing. They had fair prices. They employee licensed electricians, which I think is important.

I really like dealing with them but in this case I have to get other opinions on this electric job.

The interaction with them was very friendly; they called right back. They looked at the work I wanted done but their prices were ridiculous. We never used them.

I was serviced by a Bruney whose an Electrician with this company. I was absolutely impressed with this young man's professionalism, knowledgibility and passion for his craft. He was punctual, efficient and took special care in explaining exactly the work at hand and where the problem arose. I absolutely recommend customers request him as there electrician.

Stephanie was very helpful when I called on a Sunday evening after being concerned about the sparks that I observed in the circuit box. The response time to schedule an appointment for an electrician to come to my home was very quick. Bruney responded and was very polite and professional. I explained what had occurred with the upstairs electricity suddenly going "off" and "on" and then eventually completely off. After Bruney performed the diagnostic testing and looked at the panel box, he could tell what had occurred. Luckily the damage was caught before it was too late! Bruney explained everything that needed to be done in a way that I could understand and he completed the job so that everything was perfect. He was very conscientious and polite. He called for assistance when needed to ensure each part of the breakers was labeled clearly and properly so that I could understand for future use and explained what each breaker was for and what to do if one of the breakers was triggered off. Gabriel came when the job was completed and checked everything out and was very helpful in explaining things that I can do to prolong the life of my AC unit and hot water heater/furnace also! They spent so much time with me and answered all of my questions and taught me so much about my own home! All in all, I was completely satisfied with the work that was done and Stephanie, Bruney and Gabriel all lived up to their name "Friendly"! Excellent service and I highly recommend this company!

Although Friendly Electric Co did not perform the service (I needed to have my electrical panel upgraded), due to a change in circumstances on my behalf, they were very professional when they came to my home to do the estimate. Brian the service tech who came to do the estimate was very knowledgeable, explaining everything that I needed to have done in details that I could understand as well as answering my many questions very patiently. I had placed a deposit with them, however when a change in my circumstances occured they were extremely understanding and refunded my deposit very promptly. Hopefully my circumstances will change so that I can make use of their wonderful services.

This is probably the worst company I have EVER dealt with, EVER. I would not recommend them to anyone for anything!! My AC was working fine but I thought it should be serviced once a year, called to have a routine AC service. Tech came, went down into the basement which had nothing to do at all with the AC. Then he went into the crawl space, told me I needed lighting up there, why I don't know since nobody goes up there except service techs which should have there own equipment! He also said that my hot water heater needed to be grounded??????????? Then he left and after about 1 hr. he returned with a written estimate for approx. $3000.00. Part of which was to ground my hot water heater, why he was even looking at that I have no idea. I asked my cousin to come to look at it, he owns and operates a heating an AC company in business for 25 years, and he said the valve was tampered with and the coolant drained out. He said that it was tampered with, no doubt. My cousin installed the system and why I didn't call him was just stupid but he never charges me and I didn't want to take advantage of his kindness. I thought this was a simple thing!! So to sum it up I called Friendlys, it seems they recommend things to try to drum up the price, the tech disappeared for 1 hr. and the unit was tampered with. Read what other people have to say and draw your own conclusion. I am sure the owner will dispute this as he does every other negative review. Yes, he did come here with his tech and I had the tech from the second co. who said it was tampered with here also and it turned into a screaming match. I didn't read any reviews before I called Friendly's or I sure wouldn't have used them. Read their reviews it's the same story, they do poor work, they send someone out to consol you, bottom line they're dishonest and good luck if you use them.

Afterward the work was completed the bill wound up being double their quote claiming "extras". Example: the lawn outlet they did not fix only to confirm that it "didn't work", I already knew that. To find the short and fix it would be extra. The inside wall outlets they did fix only to have within minutes of the techs leaving the lights not working again. When I telephoned the office the same tech returned, very annoyed, and claimed that I must have "fooled with the wiring" myself after he left. I'm not an electrician and attempted no such thing. The washer outlet required their running a new wire (20ft) in the basement along a wall. That job took them literally 10 to 15 minutes. I was charged extra for that also. How do they fix an outlet for a quoted price and then have it wind up costing extra to fix? The worst of all, upon paying the tech and saying that I was dissatisfied with his workmanship and cost extras, I said good-bye and thought that was it. No, the tech remained in my driveway for 30 minutes, was on his cell phone and then another Friendly Electric truck pulled up and a knock at my door. It was his boss who had no interest in the work done, the cost or how his tech had to be called back to fix the faulty job done. Instead his sole purpose was to ball me out for being dissatisfied. This guy was really angry and I don't know what he expected to accomplish, physically fist fighting? I wound up closing the door in his face. They were the least professional and incompetent contractor I have had the misfortune of ever hiring. Stay away from these bums!

Friendlies was very prompt in scheduling the appointment. Two highly professional and friendly people showed up on time, understood our requirements, took the measurements and left with promise to call back with a detailed quote. Never heard back from them. I reached out twice to them. Both the times the associate dealing with us was on the field. The operator took a message for the associate assigned to us. Never got a call back. I decided to go with another company and have since completed the project satisfactorily.

AprilAire listed this company as certified to repair their whoile house humidifiers. I scheduled an appointmemt to recieve an estimate for the repair. Since I am very familiar with this model (400) I knew that their were only three electrical parts that could cause the humidifier to stop working, the humdistat, the solenoid or the electrical transformer. Since I am not an electrician, I though it best to call an HVAC contractor, as I have done in the past. When the technician arrived, with a new employee in tow, he was very pleasant and and courteous.He told me that the fee to diagnosis the problem would be $156 plus tax. If the repair was done, this fee would be incorporated into the repair cost. If the repair was not done I was responsible for the diagnosis fee. Since I knew what the cost of each of the three parts was from AprilAire(Humidstat-$84; Solenoid-$54.95 and transformer $20.48) I was confident that any estimate would probably be around $200-$250. The technician took about 20 minutes to decide that the electrical transformer had to be replaced. He went out to his truck and returned and told me the cost would be $478.30 plus tax. I was astounded, especially since I had this same item replaced four years ago (1996) by a different HVAC contractor for $120.91( $28 for parts, $85 service call fee and $7.91 tax) That service technician arrived at 9:00 AM and departed at 9:20 AM - a total time to diagnosis and install the transfromer of 20 minutes. When I conveyed this to the present technician he called his employer but returned to tell me that the price was firm. I declined the service and had to pay the $163.70. After they left I called our elcrtrician and he told me to order the part and he would charge me $120.00 to install it. A 250% markup for diagnosis and repair that takes only twenty minutes seems a bit excessive to me. I fully expected to pay more than I did in 1996, but not 250% more. Apparantly this company adheres to the old addage "caveat emptor". Be forewarned.
