Having your first floor and basement flooded by waste water is stressful enough, l thought employing a "professional" company like Servpro would not only help fix the problem but would also give me some peace of mind. Servpro of Midtown Manhattan, managed to make the problem worse and 100x more stressful. The first day they brought in drying machines and dehumidifiers one of which leaked and flooded my first floor which seeped through to my basement causing more damage and making the situation worse. This was then replace by a second leaky machine, so in the first 48 hours they added more water than they removed. They then tried to get away with doing half the work they reported they would do to me and the insurance company. They would tell me one thing and tell the workers another thing blatantly lying to me when I queried it. Thus they could bill for full work whilst doing half as much. To remove about demolition of sheetrock, I was told and know can be done in hours took them 4 full days. They are now 8 days in to a job that should have taken a day and have cost me and my business so much time and energy for no reason. One day they slowly and painstakingly spent half a day removing a 4x2 section of floor boards and told me they had to come back the next day as they had the wrong tools, their job for that day was the floor boards, who goes to a job without their tools? Before starting the demolition work I had requested several times to cover my belongings with plastic, I was reassured 4 times this would happen, only for me to come down and find all my belongings covered in dust with no covering. I was told on day 1 they would go through my contents with me and clean what could be salvaged and correctly remove porous materials that couldn't be. This work normally takes place on day one for some reason they did it day 7. After spending a full day of my time and following workers instructions on what needs to be done. they bagged all the "infected" porous object in bags and put them in truck for correct disposal. I then get a call from the project "manager" Lou Miccio (who as a project manager had spent all of 10 minutes on site over that week) Lou proceeded with the most aggressive and unprofessional phone call i have ever received. I quote "why the 'F' are you F'ing' telling my workers to through out you F'ing" shit" "I am here to make money and not F**k around with your sh*t" he went on and on. Rather taken back by this outburst I explained I had not told them to do anything, I was told by them that this is what is the procedure and has to happen. He continued his aggressive rant telling me the workers he sent have only worked there for 2 months and "don't know sh*t", he has been doing for 12 years and I should talk to him. As if it was my problem as I was meant to know as a project manager he was sending me unqualified and untrained people. And me (the client) who has no knowledge of water mitigation should see they ignorance and call the guy who hired and trained them. This was absurd and possibly the most unprofessional and aggressive dealing I have had with anyone. After swearing at me and his workers Lou ordered my infected content back into my house. It's now 8 days after the incident have walls that were effected by the water that should have been removed not removed, have all the contents that has been covered in waste water and is dangerous still in my house after wasting all this time sorting it out. The place where the leak started has not been cleaned and the area they contaminated with dirty contents they did not clean either. I recommend you choose a competitor and not these people, I don't wish anyone to experience what I have been through with Servpro Manhattan. It may be that their other teams are OK but if you have to use them do not work with Lou Miccio, he is the most disorganized and unprofessional mangers I have met. Avoid him at all costs. I feel sorry for his workers having to deal with this and being blamed for his unprofessionalism and mismanagement. One of the workers also had a severe case of bronchitis and coughed ridiculous all over my house for a week and no surprise I am now getting sick to make the situation that much worse. I had flagged this with the "supervisor" Anthony on day one, I was told Anthony would be back the next day and the sick worked would be replaced. Anthony never came back and the sick worker was there everyday. This was a very stressful experience dealing with this company, daily there were issues and instead of fixing them they made them worse, blaming me, their employees and not taking responsibility for their terrible management.

Hot water heater blew and resulted in an inch of water in the basement. After initial call, trucks arrived within an hour. Pumped out the water, lifted all items off the floor and removed items to be disposed of. Left high powered fans and dehumidifies for 2 days and treated for mold. Was impressed with the efficiency and quality of work. Billed insurance company. Was only responsible for my $500 deductible.

I can't rate them high enough. They helped me after I got flooded. I can't tell you what a Godsend he was after having our house almost destroyed. They are punctual, they are very polite, they are professional, they are courteous. They clean up just beautifully. By the time they got done with my flood I could operate on my floor, it was pristine. They were phenomenal. They did mold remediation and took all the walls and floors down to the studs and cleaned it and vacuumed it and put it all back.
