We had just purchased the home and removed the old , smelly, stained carpets to expose the hardwood floors. The floors were a mess with some very sticky residue from the padding and stained. Emil came by and explained the sticky residue was from over saturation of steam carpet cleaning. Some of the stains were from carpet cleaning solutions and some were pet urine. Because of the urine stains we could not go with a natural finish. Emil suggested a dark walnut stain to effectively mask the stains. Because of the staining the process would take an extra day, but no problem. His crew showed up on time each day. There was good communication throughout the process. The floors exceeded our expectations. I will mention, if you plan on staining, make plans to not be in the home for AT LEAST 2 days, leaving as many windows as possible open. We didn't have much of a choice but to stay in the finished basement. The fumes were very potent, we didn't sleep well and we woke up with "bad wine" headaches in the mornings. I believe it took almost a week of leaving the windows open (in December) to air out. Overall, excellent job!! Thank you Emil!

The finished floor is absolutely beautiful, and I couldn't be happier.The job was done on schedule,even with the bad weather, and working around schedules of the other contractors in our remodel. Will definitely have him come back to do my second story floors!!

I cannot say enough good things about Doctor Dustless and his crew. After moving into our new home, an overzealous painter pulled the wall-to-wall carpet from the stairs, convinced he would find oak hardwood underneath. When there was only knotty pine, we decided to find a professional floor installer to re-do the stairs in oak and and refinish the existing oak floors in the foyer and dining room. When we met with Emil (Doctor Dustless), it was a no brainer. He was very thorough when walking us through the options and pricing. And, Emil was knowledgable, hands-on and involved in the process from beginning to end. All the work was completed by his own employees (he did not contract out) and he also referred us to the best stairs and rails company, Yale, Inc., which was able to replace the tread of the stairs instead of capping (which is the solution all the other stairs vendors could do). Emil and Brian (from Yale, Inc.) coordinated nicely as they moved though each step of the process from replacing the stairs and railing to installing new flooring in the living room and hallway, refinishing, staining and adding new three-quarter inch rounds. Our older hardwood flooring in the foyer and dining room had grooves in-between each plank and was pre-finished, so it required a lot of sanding. But, Doctor Dustless was truly dustless. There was a chance that once stained, the existing oak flooring and the new oak flooring in the living room would not match, but once we decided on the stain color, Doctor Dustless expertly applied our choice on the flowing and we could not be more pleased with the outcome! They matched perfectly! We get complements all the time and recommend Doctor Dustless and Yale, Inc. for their superior workmanship, professionalism and ability to schedule the work and complete the job with all other parties involved. Doctor Dustless is the best! We are so grateful that we found him on Angie's List and for the reviews that helped us decide to call him for an estimate in the first place. Emil and his crew were great. We had some specific, unique needs, and Emil was by far the most responsive in his willingness to work with us to meet our needs. Emil is anal like me, and he truly prides himself in his work and appreciates the importance of assuring that his clients are truly pleased with the outcome. He spent a lot of time before the job to assure that this was achieved, and on the job itself, and we greatly appreciate his great work and efforts. We highly recommend him and have already recommended him to two neighbors.

Dr. Dustless was absolutely terrific!. He and his men came on time, worked quickly and cleanly. There was no splatter of the stain on any of the surrounding moldings and the finished product is superb. The professionalism of his team is outstanding. I would recommend him without reservation for anybody looking for quality work at a fair price.

Emil was friendly, patient, professional, and exceptionally accommodating. He worked with our schedule and showed up precisely on time. This meant a whole lot since we needed him to finish before a specific date, as we have a baby on the way, and he did just that! He followed through with the services that we agreed upon. After the floors were finished, one of our cats got some prints on the fresh polyurethane and Emil even came back to touch it up for us. We are quite pleased with his work and highly recommend Doctor dustless!!

The most professional service we have ever had! Did an excellent job far surpassing our expectations. Was truly dustless. Price was fair. Workers were efficient and careful. The result is the best looking floor since the original installation. Would recommend these guys to everyone with a wood floor.

I was impressed with Emil throughout the process ? his responsiveness, our initial meeting, and the work itself. His knowledge of the craft comes through quickly and easily. I never once got the impression he was trying to upsell me on anything. During the initial meeting he showed me where the flaws were in the previous work. He scoped the work and the initial estimate was honored on both time and price. His attention to detail was obvious in the finished product. He and his team made the closet floors uniform with the rest of the floor, including in the rooms that had carpet in the closets. Totally seamless. They even did the 4-6 inch strip of floor visible in the gap between the wall and refrigerator. The price reflects the complexity of my place, a three story townhouse, which was a lot of manual stair work. There was a section of flooring that was buckled from water damage, which they replaced and you'd never guess where the replacement started and ended. The replacement was very reasonably priced. Emil was also very accommodating as I was trying to pick the right stain color. He sanded a large section of floor and put out a number of colors for me, and allowed me to schedule a time with a girlfriend who is much better at making this kind of decision. I would hire Emil and his team again in a snap. I recommend you do the same.

Dr. Dustless did an excellent job sanding and refinishing my hardwood floors. They fit me into their schedule right away, while other guys were scheduling me a week or two out. They showed up on time in the morning, explained everything to me and were done by the time I got home from work. The floors look amazing and I feel like I got a competitive price, so I couldn't ask for more. The only downside, if you can even call it that, was that a little dust did get into the kitchen. But that could be normal with "dustless" sanding, I'm not sure. And they even made sure the vacuum hose didn't crush my wife's flowers!

I have nothing but good things to say about this contractor and the work they did. We were moving out prior to selling our house and called Doctor Dustless for a quote to refinish the entire house. Emil scheduled a visit for the next day, arrived on time, and sent a professional-looking quote by email that night. While we were waiting for our move-out date and the house to be emptied I had a few questions. Emil responded very quickly to any email that I sent him. Emil and his crew (3 other guys) showed up on time and parked their trailer in the driveway. They ran a cable down to the basement and hooked it directly into our 220v. Then they ran a large hose through one of the windows and attached a junction box, which they then attached to each of the sanding machines they were using in various parts of the house. The first thing Emil did was to sand down an area in the living room and apply a few different stains so we could see what they looked like on our wood, and we could choose which stain we wanted. It took them a whole day and a half to sand down the entire house. Then over the next three days they applied the stain, sealed and gave us three coats of water-based finish. Just prior to the last coat they installed shoe molding on all the walls. We always had the original three guys on the job and Emil was there when he wasn't out buying supplies or performing quotes. The entire process was almost entirely dust-free. The house looks fantastic and we got great feedback on the floor from realtors who showed the house. For comparison, we had the floors in our new house refinished before we moved in. Because we are in a city they could not use the large trailer vacuum. Instead they had a vacuum fitted to each individual machine. This was not nearly as dust free as Doctor Dustless.

Emil was extremely responsive and informative. He brought in a team of workers who seemed very experienced and professional. They worked efficiently and were able to finish refinishing and staining in one long day. The floors look great. The price was higher than some other quotes but I think it was worth it because they did an excellent job. They are true perfectionists and take pride in their work.

I was looking for a dustless solution for hardwood floor refinishing and a healthy coating that would emit less VOC's and thus decided to go with Doctor Dustless. The work took one and half days, and I could move furniture back after a couple days. The resulting floor looks as if brand new.

I have used Dr. Dustless three times. Once to do most of a ranch house and twice at my present home. I find cleaning hardwood floors easier then carpeted floors, so every time I decide to update a room in the house - I call Dr. Dustless. He comes in with all the needed equipment and completes the job in one day. Old floors look great after he sands, stains and seals. Plus the vacuuming system he uses leaves no dust. The last job was particularly difficult. We had a radiator leak in a carpeted room and the wood floor around the valve was destroyed. Dr. Dustless replaced all the bad wood and sanded/stained/sealed the floor. Looks great now. Do's: If you want an updated look for the room - do the following. Remove the old floor molding before sanding. Then replace with new molding after the sanding & sealing has dried. This gives a great new look to the room.
