Description of Work: I stayed home and lost a days pay and the company said their equittment was not long enough to clean the ducts.

Description of Work: Not well. Provider showed up at the appointed time. Once in the house, he remarked in a not enthusiastic manor that I had ceiling vents for my AC. He asked me to show him the air handler which is in the attic. Once he saw the air handler, he promptly declared he was not able to provide the service. His hoses were not long enough! Could this inconvenience not have been prevented by a few questions being asked when I called to make the appointment?

Description of Work: The technician came and suggested that we hire somebody else because he does not use brushes and the system needed brush cleaning. I was rather surprised because there is little point of just sucking the dust without trying to dislodge it with brushes. I agreed with the technician and he left.

Description of Work: I purchased this deal because it was both air ducts and dryer vents. Provider called me within an hour of my purchase to tell me they no longer serviced Virginia as they were a New Jersey-based company, and they were even scaling back on servicing Maryland. That was not clear in the fine print, else I wouldn't have purchased the deal. But the company was very pleasant as was the Angie's List rep I spoke with to get the refund process started.

Description of Work: The equipment is van mounted and cannot get close to the entrance of the house. Unsuccessful attempt has been made.

Description of Work: The gentleman that came was pleasant and punctual and did a nice job. He made sure that our 3 cats did not get out of the house while the door remained open for 1/2 hour or so and routinely told us which part of the house he was going to service next. The only concern I had was that we purchased the 'deal' in January but were not able to schedule an appointment until March. 20 minutes before they were to arrive on the day of the appointment, my husband received a voice mail message that their technician was unable to make it and that we should call to reschedule. It took several phone calls to finally reschedule but once we did everything went smoothly. Just a little bump in the road.

Description of Work: I ordered air duct cleaning that included free dryer vent cleaning. To clean the air ducts, the vacuum hose has to reach from the technician's van to the furnace, and the distance was too far since my furnace in located in the back of my townhouse. Therefore, the air ducts could not be cleaned, but he still cleaned the dryer vent and I paid him $60 by check. My dryer had been taking much longer to dry clothes than it did a year ago and I thought the vent cleaning would make a difference, but it didn't. I was disappointed and surprised that the air ducts couldn't be cleaned. My townhouse is not big so I would assume this company has the same problem with many other homes.

Description of Work: I called for an appointment. Due to high demand I was offer only one day and time. I took this appointment. The day before I got a call confirming the appointment.I got another call an hour before the window time saying they would be 1/2 hour late. The man arrived at the stated time and looked at our house duct system. After seeing the vents on the first floor he told us that our ducts really needed to be cleaned using brushes.This is not a service they provide so he said I should ask for the Big Deal refund.

Description of Work: Vent cleaning company was first scheduled sometime before Jan. 15,2012 of w/c was rescheduled to I think February, the service came but rescheduled it again stating they need parking in front of the building. They checked the vents and the rooms. They rescheduled it to March 21st. My husband took a day off just for them only to keep calling them as to what time they were coming as it was getting late. The company secretary called stating if we can reschedule it again because the service staff were driving from a far distance. It was set again for the 30th of March of w/c was rescheduled again to April 6, the secretary saying that nobody scheduled us for that day. April 6 came and the guys came up to check vents again only to say that they cannot do it because they don't have the appropriate equipment to reach the vents. I feel I was taken for granted and not treated nicely. The secretary refused to call me back and was holding the phone for long periods.

Description of Work: It was scheduled for 4/17 but when they called us today to confirm the appointment they found that we are located in a high rise building they claimed that their equipment is fixed in a truck and cannot be moved into elevator. Therefore, they recommend that we cancel the deal with Angie's List. We are very disappointed.

Description of Work: I purchased the deal on 4/12/13 and got a call on 4/13/13 saying the company does not service Maryland. I appreciate the company's prompt notice so that I could have the situation taken care of.

Description of Work: The service provider showed up on time, was very polite, and even took his shoes off to keep my home clean. He quickly determined that the house was too large for his equipment to handle, and let me know that I could get a refund without issue. Even though no work was performed, this company was very professional, and the gentleman that came to my door was a pleasure.

Description of Work: Vent Cleaning was not able to get a technician here on the originally scheduled date due to snow. We set a new date of 3/23. Their technician came, inspected the furnace and the vents, and advised they could not do the work. He explained that in order to clean the air ducts they would have to remove the vent covers. Because the vent covers had been painted over multiple times this would crack the paint and could damage the area where the covers screwed into the wall such that the covers would not go back on. I would have been willing to deal with cracked paint. But I had to agree with the technician that having a house with multiple uncovered vents would be a bad idea. He did clean the dryer vent, and gave me a discount on that service, but he was not able to perform the duct cleaning that was purchased as The Big Deal. The technician was polite, efficient, clearly explained the issues involved and was helpful in the ways that he could do so. On that basis I would rate the experience as an 'A'.

Description of Work: It was a quick vent cleaning and you had to keep asking questions or they won't tell you what they will do. But they do their job well, my vent is clean. My issue is that it was so hard to schedule an appointment & after setting one she calls me back only to tell me she the sched she gave me was already taken. And today she calls me again asking if I want to schedule my vent cleaning ( which was already done ).

Description of Work: I can't tell you how disappointed I was when I purchased the Big Deal. I was extremely specific regarding my washer/dryer which is one machine - an LG. I not only emailed my question, but when I set up the appointment, I again specified what kind of machine I had. I was put on hold and then was told that the technician could perform the service. When the technician arrived - he had no idea about my machine and stated that he had never even heard of one. What a waste of my time. Please refund my money.

Description of Work: I purchased the deal and got an email that week saying that they are overwhelmed and will contact me when they are ready to schedule an appointment. I waited nearly a month and hadn't heard anything, so I contacted the company. The customer service rep called me the next day and offered the schedule me for the following day. I agreed, never got a call to confirm the time, and no one ever showed up. No one called back to reschedule. I didn't bother to call them back, as I decided to cancel my deal and not deal with them again.

Description of Work: Appointment was fixed 5 weeks ago as they sounded "very busy". Then even though the coupon says $199 Whole House Air Duct Cleaning Package PLUS FREE Dryer Vent Cleaning, when I had called to set up the appointment, the person asked me as to how many HVAC units did we have as the $199 would ONLY cover one system, which was no where mentioned in the coupon. She then took details about our home and we set up the appointment with the understanding that we would be another $199 for the second system. Then, after all the wait, the person who came to do the job spent 5 minutes, looked at both the systems, and told me that he did not have duct long enough to bring from his truck to the inside where the systems are located, so I apologize, and left us after telling that we need to get in touch with Angies list for our refund. This is pretty lame of them, and as a business, they should have a checklist of questions that can screen easily if they can take up the job or not.

Description of Work: Scheduled for early on a Friday evening. It had begun to snow, but the technician didn't cancel;however, he was concerned about driving in the snow with bald tires and mentioned it several times. He did not move the dryer out from the wall, did not remove the exhaust vent pipe from the back of the dryer but did go outside and push all of the lint back down into the pipe with his brush. I had wanted to have some of the debris that was in the bottom of the pipe removed because it was making noise and I thought, in addition to being an annoyance, it was a hazard. This did not happen. In fact, nothing more than I could have done myself was done. I was very surprised, not to mention disappointed. So, I have since had the dryer vent cleaned by a professional.
