I bought a deal coupon on Angies List for this chimney sweep for $70. This was less than I paid a local company last year (maybe $130). They showed on time and seemed to do an adequate job. Two things I was not happy with: 1. I have a fireplace insert which they need to pull out to clean the chimney properly. He did not put the insert back in place properly and had to do it myself. 2. He tried to sell me some additional services at the end to the tune of ~$300. I really felt he was just trying to get some more revenue out of me. My previous chimney sweep never indicated I needed any additional work. So, it was a reasonably good price but probably wouldn't use them again unless it was another coupon.

Overall we were very pleased with the service. I was contacted almost immediately after placing the order and a date was set up. Outside of a weather related cancellation, which was completely reasonable given how ugly the weather was that day, there were no issues with reliability or punctuality. The service was performed relatively quickly with no mess left behind. After the chimney was cleaned, our service man vacuumed out the stove and gave the glass panel a good cleaning. He did attempt to up-sell additional services, but he was not aggressive about it (I had a hunch that most of the services he recommended had to be performed before he told us.) I have not followed up on any of the recommendations as of yet, but the quote was reasonable and we will likely use Flue Tec to perform the services.

They were very clear on the estimate and were honest about what was needed and what we could get away without for a while. The staff was very professional. Overall a great experience.

Mike and Sean were the nicest, most hard workers that I have had do work around my house. They were punctual and courteous at all times. They left their work areas clean and broomed, wiped. Compared to 5 other companies I got estimates from Flue Tech was comparable and I'm pleased I went with this company.

They definitely had expertise for the service they were offering but I would be weary of them up-selling additional services.

Great service. I needed creosote removed, and the job was done quickly and without any mess. I also needed before and after photos for my insurance company, which they took and emailed to me the next day, which was great. I would definitely hire them again.

Mike from Flue Tech came out the house to check the chimney in a house we just recently moved into. The original appointment was for between 1-4PM and he came later than that. I had not issue with the arrival as I understand that some jobs take longer and commuting between the schedule is not always smooth as well. Mike cleaned the flue, inspected to top of chimney and noted there was no evidence of cracks or water damage. He commented that the chimney was fairly clean and probably cleaned within the last year. He mentioned rust on the top cap of the chimney and suggested a replacement for it but also that it was not something that needed to be done right away. He certainly was not pushing any further services or trying to up-sell anything. He also checked the draft in the chimney to make sure it had good airflow. Mike was very friendly and efficient and didn't mind my kids, hovering to watch. I would recommend them.

Contacted Flue Tech for Chimney cleaning. Upon inspection they noted cracking of Chimney and offered repain. I inquired about chimney caps for oval shaped flues b/c another company told me it was impossible. FLue Tech did not hesitate and offered custom made caps. Repair of chimney and cap installation occured on seperate date. Appointments rescheduled several times due to weather and problems w/ their schedule. However, I am thrilled w/ the final product. Everything was done extremely well and the serive was superb. It was expensive but worth it.caps.

The men were punctual, polite, and left the area even cleaner than before they arrived.

The time frame was 12-3pm, but the technician "Mike" showed up at 3pm. Understanding that he was working alone. That is BAD!!! He should not be working alone... How about safety??? He was quite a nice guy, still after a long day of work.

On September 12th I selected Flu Tech to perform a chimney cleaning at my house. I also purchased a deal for $112.00 on Angie's List for Flu Tech to do the chimney cleaning for that price. I received an email from Flu Tech informing me that the earliest they could come to my house was today 10-5-12. I asked if they could come any earlier, and Matt said he could only come on 10-5-12, so I scheduled to leave work early today. I sent a message to Matt yesterday to make sure he was coming today, and he contacted me today to say he could not make it. I thought the appointment was made since there was ample time to change this before now. I want a refund of my $112.00 and I will leave it at that. Matt informed me that I have to contact Angie's List for my refund.

Overall, very please with the service I paid for.

There was confusion about the Big Deal coverage when they showed up to do the work. I bought 2 chimney sweeps for $70/ea, but when presented with that, the tech initially said that there was a limit of one at the Big Deal rate and the 2nd would be full price at $140. I showed proof of purchase, but they demurred. I agreed to take it up with Angies List adn he went about doing a professional job on the 1st flue. When completed, he came back and agreed to do the 2nd one at the Big Deal rate, but since they were late in getting to the house, we agreed that they would come back to do the 2nd flue. I had already agreed to have them replace a clean-out door for one of the flues, so it's not going to be an extra trip. All over good service!

Arrived late on a Friday afternoon but still performed the work in a timely manner. Showed us the worn and rusted parts.

Over all, we had a great experience with them!

Everything went well in both instances. They were very clean and professional.I would not hesitate to use FluTech again.

They were responsive, quick, great communicators and did excellent work.

Overall Flue Tech did what two other local chimney/fireplace companies claimed could not be done. Their work was impeccable and done on time. Could not be happier recommending them skip the other local vendors just call these two brothers and you will be all set.We live in Rockland County, NJ although this company travels pretty far and wide. New York City and Westchester for example.

I purchased a living social deal for a chimney cleaning. They came and did a great job, told us things we could have done and prices for those as well. I had an appointment for 11am and they never made it over until almost 6pm, but we were far from them as well. Services seemed great and we would use them for any other issues.

It took a bit longer than i'd like to schedule the appointmnet, but it went reasonably well once they arrived. They recommended that I have additional work done and I am still looking into whether I need it.

They gave me a window to let me know when they were coming, so I planned my day around that timeframe. They were very late, and came after the time specified. Apparently they had another job that took much longer than expected.Despite this, I was still happy with the job they did. They worked very neatly, quickly, and professionally.

Excellent service, honest and up front about additional costs to fix chimney, and responded immediately with an estimate. Cleaned/vacuumed our fireplace inside and outside.

Flue Tech conducted themselves as professionals throughout . All work was completely explained before work proceeded. Options were given where appropriate. The crew handled all work and conducted themselves in a manner that made my wife and I very comfortable. It is not only pleasant but,we hate to say it, surprising, to find there are still professionals available.

They were slightly late, but the overall experience was very good. Matt kept in contact verbally and via email and sent out reminders of when they were showing up. I would definitely recommend them

It went extremely well. They took their time and did a thorough job cleaning and inspecting our chimney.
