 + -1 moreFlue Tech was very responsive and professional. We had to reschedule once because it snowed on the day they were supposed to be on the roof, so they offered to come on a Sunday to fit me into their schedule. Everyone was very nice, and they did a great job and did not try to up sell me anything even though I bought through the Angie's List deal. They told me what maintenance could wait another year, and which I should be able to do myself. I would definitely use again.

The work was done quickly and perfect, no refuse was left behind as they made it a point to leave the work area- and the surrounding as it was found- To the point of laying a covering on the floor on the chance some dirt from their boots could be brought in to the house.  + 1 moreThey did a beautiful job. Unfortunately we had a problem with not getting enough draw of air to maintain the fire. After calling and explaining the problem they came over and spent quite some time trying to figure out the reason behind it. It ended up being our chimney stack. It was not tall enough even though it was a foot over the manufactures guidelines. They came back over on the Sunday before Xmas after it had snowed when it was cold and windy to go up on the roof to extend the stack a few feet. This fixed the problem and we have had a fire running non stop since. My husband and I were extremely pleased and will have them come back to clean the fireplace yearly. I would highly recommend this company to anyone who is looking for the simple job of sweeping out the chimney to major installations.
Description of Work: I had purchased a half price chimney sweep from this site. When the owner came to do the work I told him we were thinking about getting a fireplace insert and getting rid of the gas logs that we had. They removed the gas logs, cleaned the chimney, put new caps on did some masonry work on the chimney and inserted the cast iron fireplace insert.

 + -1 moreI used Flue Tech 2 times. The first was to get my 2 chimney flues cleaned. The charge for the first flue was a deal that I had received via Angie's list. However, they charged me full price for the second flue. The 2nd time I used them was to repair the wall in one of my fireplaces. They were professional and punctual both times. However, they took apx. 2 months to get the materials for the fireplace wall. I had to call them to remind them that I had been waiting for them to call. They apologized profusely for the tardiness, and we were able to set up an appointment immediately.
Description of Work: They cleaned my 2 chimney flues and replaced a cracked wall in one of my fireplaces.

 + 0 moreTech came on time. Highly professional. Cleaned the chimney without making any mess. Made some recommendations for chimney repairs. The recommendations seem a bit high-end but we didn't see any problems with them. We also asked if they had a special on duct cleaning as our dryer ducts really needed a good cleaning. He gave us the a sale price and did the job on the spot. Again, very good job without a mess and everything pug back in it's place when done. He was great and the price very competitive. We have been recommending them (every hous in our neighborhood has a fireplace) Will definitley be using them again

 + -1 morePurchased a coupon on Angie's list for a chimney cleaning for $125. The chimney sweeps were on time and even called 15 minutes before arriving. They were efficient and clean. I have a light colored rug near the fireplace and they laid down a tarp to avoid any issues. Other services were discussed, such as masonry work, waterproofing and flashing repair, but I never felt pressured to purchase any additional services. Overall a good experience and I would use them again in the future.

Description of Work: The rates which I've assigned to this company are misleading. Their chimney sweeping work was fine. The guys were nice, their gear looked well-maintained, and they cleaned up after themselves, and it only cost me $70. A good deal. They also provided an estimate for additional work on the exterior of the chimney which they advised me to consider. Re-pointing the bricks, waterproofing, etc. The bill was over $400. I blame myself in part because I was busy and not able to inspect the chimney myself before they came back to do the work. I assumed that the work was necessary. I broke my own rule of "never assume." When they returned to do the "additional repairs," if they spent more than 15 minutes, I'd be shocked. After they left, I did go up and inspect their work. Based on what I saw, I could have done it myself for $20. Shame on me. Coincidentally, NBC-TV did a report on the chimney sweep industry last month. Caveat emptor.

 + -1 moreScheduling got a little mixed up once, but not a big deal. Office was very pleasant to deal with. Workers did a good job fixing the chimney and installing the chimney caps. The house is very old and it wasn't an easy job. The workers were also very nice. My only minor issue was that they left a bit of a mess - soot in the basement and debris in the driveway. Otherwise, I was 100% satisfied.
Description of Work: One chimney cleaned and new chimney caps installed on 2 chimneys. Recommendation was made to fix one chimney by adding a stainless steel liner. Chimney is about 150 years old so this seemed reasonable. I knew it had stability issues.

 + -1 moreAfter giving a window for cleaning of 12-3 pm, the company was finally able to arrive at 5:30 pm. The phone rep called me at 2:45 to tell me they would be there around 3:30 pm, and then called around 3:20 to verify the 5:30 time. Both of my technicians did a great job, and the technicians were knowledgeable and personable. The chimney cleanings were done by around 7:00 pm, and they even patched a hole where an abandoned duct ran through one of the fireplaces. I asked for a quote on a fireplace insert on one flue and hi-temp cement on the other. Both quotes were given the same day, and the company followed up to give other quotes as well. I would work with this company again, though I would say to plan your cleanings WELL in advance, as this time of year (NOVEMBER) they are very busy.
Description of Work: Two large chimneys cleaned ($140 ea). Fireplaces cleaned. Duct hole in fireplace patched ($98).
