Reviewed company on Angie's list and saw great reviews. Very flexible for appointments since a family member needed to travel to house from out of state. Crew arrived on time and were very open to whatever we needed them to do. Excellent job. Would use them again. Easy scheduling, flexible and did a great job were the key important items to me.

They always work hard and are on time.

Overall it was very good. They charged me the exact amount of the quote for the deep cleaning and were flexible in the arrangement to clean our house every week. The called before they came, did a quality job and we saved 60 bucks per cleaning compared to our old cleaning service which had become unreliable. They also brought all of their own supplies. Very happy will write again after we use them for several weeks to ensure they keep it up.

It went well. They arrived on time. They did what was expected. They were also easy to work with.

My experience was fine and fair, nothing extravagant. They cleaned the house. The price was fine and reasonable and they were on time.

They did a wonderful job. For four days afterwards, we kept getting delightful surprises - "Wow! They even cleaned THAT!"

I used Hortensia's service for about a year and a half and it has taken me that long to come to my own personal conclusion that Hortensia's Cleaning Service is about doing an average job cleaning homes for the great majority of its clientele for the purpose of running a modest business -- but more importantly, gaining access to a wide variety of homes and then scoping out where valuables may lay and if and how they can be taken after many, many sessions of service (they build trust first). It started with cleaning products missing (when they are supposed to be using their own); they finally admitted they "accidentally" took our full bottles of Windex and Soft Scrub. It escalated with gold earrings mysteriously disappearing after they came and left one day (still thought it was a mystery at the time -- maybe daughter dropped them somewhere?). It culminated with a $20,000 engagement ring and wedding band missing on a day when the owner, "Lupe," aka Hortensia, whose real name is Hortencia Jaco Damiani, showed up to clean. My original thought was that one of the women she brought with her, i.e. one of the women she cycles in and out of the house, was likely to blame, and I tried to get the names of who had been in the house on which occasions. I got zero help -- the assistant, who genuinely seemed like she wanted to help, kept telling me Hortencia was looking into it and would get back to me. But after about eight calls, she never did. I got suspicious and after doing a background search, learned some interesting things. That Hortencia also owns a moving company called Jaco Movers -- another great vehicle for gaining access into people's homes and things -- and that her husband, with whom she owns a $320,000 home in Dunellen, Richard Damiani, just so happens to have a criminal record: One record is for theft while conducting a "move" and another is for unauthorized use of a person's credit card. Hmmm. Jaco Movers was also issued a citation and fined in NJ for operating an unlicensed business. Personally, I'd stay away from these people. If you don't, make sure you have cameras (we now do -- inside and out) and keep your valuables out of sight. Whether they are after your "stuff" or not, the quality of the service was utterly mediocre. I will be filing a police report, not in the hopes of regaining valuables, but so that if there are others out there with the same story, as I suspect there may be, law enforcement will hopefully string the incidents together and finally keep them out of people's belongings.

I called up for a deep cleaning needed in a new home prior to moving in. I specifically requested certain areas of the home be focused on. My requests were either ignored or not mentioned to the cleaning crew. I came in the following day to find a mediocre job done. I'm pregnant and really needed help with the cleaning of my new home- so we can easily put away our stuff. I was hoping to see a much better job done. Especially since the house was relatively empty. I called up this morning and expressed my dissapointment. I requested that they come back to do the job I asked and was told they would speak to their manager and get back to me. I haven't heard back. For the amount of money spent- I would not recommend using this service. It was a very surface cleaning job- which I could have done.

The cleaning was satisfactory, however, I was unhappy with a couple of incidences. 1. One of the housekeepers told my husband that we didn't need to go through the service, but could call her independently and she would charge us less. 2. One of the ladies plugged the vacuum cleaner into a socket which had a floor heating unit which blew the fuse. She did not bring it to our attention, which could have caused a problem. Lastly, one of the cleaners was speaking so loud and long on her cell phone, my husband had to ask the lead cleaner to ask her to get off the phone. Their cleaning wasn't satisfactory enough for me to be willing to bring them back

Marilyn and her team of two other cleaners were prompt, friendly, professional and courteous. I could not be more impressed!

This is a great professional team. I scheduled cleaning for my house after a renovation project and they did a wonderful job. So now they are scheduled to come regularly. They have been prompt and they really clean. My place looks great when they are done. This is a company who really knows what they are doing and they deliver. I hope to be able to use their services for some time to come. I would highly recommend them.

Malcom and his crew showed up on time, on a Sunday no less, and we got right to work. First they took all of my boxes out of the garage and put them on the driveway, then took all of the stuff out of the attic and put them on driveway for us to go through. It was a very big job but they worked hard. We went through every box and decided what to throw away and what to keep. The job took about 5 hrs and they did an excellent job. All the boxes that were put back were organized neatly, allowing us to get to them if we need to. The attic was previously a huge mess and Hortensia service moved a ton of boxes up and down and organized the attic well. They did everything we asked for and it would have taken me weeks to do it myself. I spent a bit more than what I anticipated but the job was also bigger than I thought and it was well worth it to have everything organized. Malcom was extremely nice and he was very efficient with his time, it was a huge job and they handled it very professionally. I would most definitely use them again for cleaning or moving anything. I'm very satisfied with the job they did and now I have the room I needed in the garage and have a well organized attic. Simply amazing, I highly recommend Hortensia Cleaning Service. Everyone has been giving them high marks and I agree completely.

This was the second time I had cleaning service from Hortensia LLC. The first was the $199 special for 6 hrs. of cleaning which is actually 3 people for 2 hours. Today two ladies came. They arrived on time, were very polite, and did a very thorough cleaning of our house. I will have them come on a regular basis from now on. I can give them a good recommendation.

Super fast and thorough cleaning of our home prior to selling it. Two ladies worked seperately on different areas and used only mild and safe products, yet got everything gleaming and spotless. I even called Tereasa afterwards to ask her advice on how to clean my moldings. I had specified exactly what areas needed cleaning within the 3 hour service and Tereasa made sure it was all done.

We took the 200 dollars for 6 hours deal. Scheduling was quick. They came over on Saturday that was convenient. Did a very thorough job. Very courteous and professional.

I have houseguests coming into town this weekend and needed a cleaning service. I have used Hortensia numerous times before with mediocre results. I emailed Monday to make an appt for this week and the woman called me to schedule the appt for Tuesday am at 8-9am. I was called at 9:30 am Tuesday to say they would be there more like 11am. That was not a problem as I was at work. When I returned from work expecting a clean house I found nothing had been done and no one had been there. When I called them Wed morning I was told by Theresa that they "unfortunately couldn't make it" and that I "should find another service because they no longer service the area". Mind you they made an appt with me and confirmed it twice and I am a frequent customer!! Not only did they waste 3 days of my time with this, but Theresa was rude and gave no reason for the ridiculous run around except for "I just found out yesterday". DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE! They are unprofessional and don't know how to run a business.

I bought the Big Deal for six hours of house cleaning to try out the service. I have a one bedroom/one bath condo with a bonus space. I am very happy with the results of the service. Two women, Lupe and Lisset, arrived for three hours each of cleaning. I discussed with Lupe some of what I was looking for, and they went right to work. They addressed my requests and went well above and beyond what I had anticipated. They cleaned so much more than I thought they would be able to do, moving things around, moving furniture, dusting, cleaning the windows and fans, in addition to thoroughly cleaning my bathroom and kitchen. They are very efficient, fast and worked great together. Lupe was the team leader and was very friendly, professional, and accommodating. This is the first time I have used a cleaning service, and relied solely on the reviews listed here on Angie's list to pick one. I discussed pricing for regular cleaning services and was happy with the quotes and see it being affordable. I will definitely book them again on a monthly basis! Thank you for a job well done!

First success as soon as I became an Angie's list member. I have been searching high and low for a reliable cleaning service for my apartment, and when the last one I hired didnt make it on time for their first appointment (citing weird reasons) , I took membership to this list and got this the first on my list. Fixed and appointment and a couple of nice ladies Mirilyn and Miriam (hope I got their names right) came ahead of time, and did a very very good job. My kitchen was pretty messy and they made it sparkle. They were very responsive and after they were done, there was good followup form their office. Overall very pleased with teh first impression. Will revisit this review if my opinion varies after recurring bi weekly. Price is the only sore point- they are going by the number of bathrooms and no of rooms etc, rather than take the square footage into account... It ends up costing dear, but I think its worth it.

Providers arrived right on time and got right to work. Were very responsive, very through. I was quite impressed with their energy and eagerness to please. Highly recommended.

That service turned out fine. Everything went well and 2 house cleaners came out. They vacuumed, dusted and cleaned the floors. They did a pretty good job. They showed up early and even called ahead of time to ask if that was okay.

My experience was great. They were very accommodating with my schedule. They were very quick to respond back to me. They were able to do the work when I was not there. They were good to work with.

They did a fantastic job! They arrived early which is fine- much better than being late-and got started immediately. At first I was concerned that paying them by the hour would make them slow but that wasn't the case. They started right away and were quick but very efficient and thorough. My house was immaculate when they left. I'd definitely hire them again.

I contacted Hortensia after terminating my cleaning service with another provider. After several bad experiences I decided to go to Angies list and Hortensia had great reviews. I had to cancel my first appointment with them due to an emergency. They were very easy to work with on scheduling. The two person crew arrived in a van right in the time window discussed. They discussed the areas needed cleaning and went right to work. I was impressed. They cleaned every surface, from windows to blinds and everything in between. They even moved furniture which my last cleaner never did. In fact my last service charged more for the initial deep clean however they provided nothing above what a regular service entailed. I was very happy with Hortensia and very impressed with the service they provided. The crew was very good and they left my house looking and smelling great! I will be using them for my bi-weekly cleaning and will update this review should anything change. So far, A+

Bought this as a big deal as a gift for my daughter. She was very pleased
