Allphase Renovations, Inc. owned by Dewayne Monts has not finished a job for my parents home and does not plan on finishing the job which was started in November of 2015. My father recently passed away from cancer but in the time before this we contracted Dewayne Monts to repair damage to a kitchen ceiling/floor ( my father left the water on in the bathroom upstairs) and repair the bathroom toilet and leaks. We wanted to get things in working order so my Dad lived in an apartment during the time. Dewayne convinced us that the one bathroom needed to be gutted and that we should add a shower downstairs because my Dad will need that in the future. As time went on there were roof repairs, more kitchen work, etc. My sister, brother & I knew we needed to upgrade this 100 plus year old home. 9 months into this project the owner said he needed to have outpatient surgery & rehab & would not work for a month. Previously he would work a few days and not show up for a week or two. We did not call him for a month & afterward calls were ignored & finally we would get a text saying he would start in a week. In January of 2017 he told our family that he is not coming back. My sister has paid in cash (a problem) and in August (the month of his surgery) paid for materials never delivered to the house. We asked him to give us the materials & although the work needs to be finished we would have to settle for this. He said that he will not do that & that his labor costs were discounted & we should pay him more money! Background: I used this contractor in my home & was recommended by his brother in law, who I know from my 2nd job. He took a long time to finish my work but I did not push him. He would ask for advances(all paid by checks) based on his truck repairs, family medical problem, etc. He knew the money I was using was insurance based with a little extra from savings. He has come to my Dad's business & knows it is successful. He has also asked my sister for advances. My parent's home repairs started in November 2015 and the house has been left a mess. I asked the person (co-worker) who referred him about the surgery & he did not know anything about it. Dewayne said that he no longer talks to this person??? ALL I WANT IS TO ALERT OTHER POTENTIAL CUSTOMERS NOT TO USE ALLPHASE RENOVATIONS. I don't think we will file a complaint with consumer affairs, but will try to get a lawyer to help us.
Description of Work: The provider (owner Dewayne Monts) started by renovating a bathroom and kitchen ceiling & kitchen floor in my father's home. My father had cancer & we moved him into an apartment hoping to move him back to the home when completed. The provider found leaks in the ceiling of the roof, suggested adding a shower downstairs, improvements with kitchen cabinets due to water damage in the ceiling, improvements in another bathroom. He completed renovating one bathroom, the kitchen ceiling and the roof on the newer part of this 100+ year old home. He started the other projects and then said he was going for outpatient surgery/rehabilitation & would return in 1 month.
