I bought an unusual looking fixer-upper in need of lots of love with the intention of turning it into a contemporary looking house. I interviewed a couple of contractors and most of them literally run away from the challenge. It was very different with Michael. ADHI showed interest in taking the job from the first minute and their proposal came with a reasonable overall price. What I really liked about this team is their promptness in getting back to me anytime I needed something or had a question through the construction process. I deal with contractors all the time at my job and this is a quality hard to see in the business. In a renovation this complex, communication between parties is very important and in this case it flowed smoothly. Oscar was the assigned leader of the team at the site. He did an amazing job making sure that things were being built or installed the way I liked them to be. The job covered almost every item involved on a renovation: Exterior: -Complete replacement of siding -Fixing roof and installing new gutters -Removing old windows and doors and installing new ones Interior: -Demo bathroom to stud frame and installing a new one -Demo kitchen and relocating plumbing/electrical to new kitchen now located in a different room -Demo floor structure for installation of new stairs -Refinish of old oak floors -Sheetrock in many areas of the house -Painting in many areas of the house -Installation of kitchen cabinets -Installation of AC units I am very happy of the result of the renovation in every aspect. The house still needs some work to be done on a later date and I won't hesitate calling Michael back when I am ready for Phase II.

Michael of AD Home Improvement worked with us to get us into our house after another contractor couldn’t complete the job. Thank you Michael. We were dealing with an FHA 203K rehab loan and not only does he have a great understanding of that process, but also the resources to satisfy both the customer and FHA. The price turned out to be significantly more than the original contactor, but after seeing the work done by AD, I’m convinced that you get what you pay for and believe the pricing to be fair. As you would expect on a project of this size, there were bumps in the road but Michael is responsive to your concerns when you voice them. He takes responsibility for the actions of his crew and lives up to the terms of the contract. Most importantly, we’re happy with the end product. We have a beautiful new bathroom and kitchen that are exactly as we requested.

I couldn't be happier. From the initial consultation through completion, Mike and his team showed up when they said they were going to show up, did exactly what they said they were going to do, and continually checked-in to make sure we were happy. If there were any questions about how we wanted something done, they made sure to get in touch with us before doing anything rather than guessing. The only problem we ran into had nothing to do with AD Home Improvement-- it had to do with my town's understaffed inspection department. We worked together to get the inspections done and AD figured out how to schedule all the workers so that our project wouldn't be unnecessarily delayed. Two things I want to make sure to mention because they seem to be fairly unique among contractor relationships: This company is accessible via and responsive to email; and there were absolutely no unexpected labor costs even though my house is 100 years old.

Had no clue what I was doing but Mike showed up and led me through the process. Didn't see much of Mike or Darwin throughout the job but whenever I sent a text or called with a concern the response was fast and handled. I don't know how many crews they have out there but I consider myself lucky that the one I had was supervised by Berto. This guy is superb. His crew generally showed up on time and worked professionally but their work did need to be checked and if anything was wrong he made sure it was fixed, usually by doing it himself. I live in an old building so it seemed everything that could leak--leaked. Berto fixed them all, even showing up on a Sunday for a 5 minute fix. This is a man who takes genuine pride in his work. When everything was finished Mike showed up for final payment and noticed a couple things that needed attention and that was handled quickly. Went a little over budget because of the bathroom floor but Mike told me that was a possibility even before they started. Very happy with the final product. Would and already have recommended AD to others.

Recently purchased a home that was not well kept up and needed a lot of repair/cosmetic work done. ADHI completely gutted the kitchen to the studs, knocked out a wall to create open kitchen/Dining room floor plan. Converted a pantry into refrigerator space and a mudroom into laundry room. Bathroom also ripped to studs and re-floored, re-tiled, everything new. Office was re-floored, new awning over back deck built, water heater and electrical box installed. New stairway to basement built. All cabinets, appliances and accessories (such as lighting) installed. Paint job looks fantastic. What was key about our renovation was ADHI's presence. Any time we had questions about materials, where to purchase supplies, budget concerns, or extra work requests to make, Michael knew to recommend us vendors in our price range that were also great quality and customer service. He adapted communication style to fit us and we had a high level of trust so we could speak openly. There are always small problems that arise, but he and his team handled them so smoothly and quickly we never had a mountain-out-of-molehill situation. Furthermore, we lived in the house (to everyone's inconvenience!) and never worried about giving his team access. They showed up early, were very friendly, but knew what they were about. Any friends or co-workers who asked about our contractor always heard "They are AWESOME" and we had no complaints whatsoever. If you want a contractor, Michael is your man. He had a fantastic right hand man in Darwin and his crew were all professional and polite. Michael was always available and followed up promptly on all concerns or questions about the project. We really could not have had a better experience than we did with ADHI. Once we have settled in to the house and have a better idea of more work to be done, we are hiring ADHI, hands down.

After checking with a number of contractors including some recommended by Angie's List, we decided to go with AD Home Improvement. We're glad we did. We live in a house built in the 1920's. Cosmetic changes had been made in the bathroom but nothing major. We wanted a total gut, getting rid of everything and going down to the studs. With this type of renovation, you never know what you're going to find and thus you want someone with experience who has dealt with older houses before. AD Home Improvement stood out. I was persuaded by Mike, the key person representing the company, that they knew what they were doing. He warned us what we might encounter once they opened everything up and what the additional charges might be. He was totally professional, upfront, and on point. I particularly liked how they structured the contract with the company providing labor and construction materials at a fair price and the client being responsible for tiles, fixtures, and materials that are all a matter of individual taste. Very fair. My only warning is to for the client to have a clear since of what materials are wanted so that the exact cost of the labor is included. For example, cutting and installing marble is more expensive than ceramic tile. The project took longer than anticipated but through no fault of the contractor. They were on top of things they could control. In particular, I was impressed by Mike's responsiveness. Whenever I e-mailed, texted or called, he responded promptly. This provided me with a lot of confidence and assurance. I was also impressed by the workmanship and skill level of the guys assigned to the job, particularly Manny who was humble, gracious and sought to meet our needs in whatever way possible. The guys assigned where professional and trustworthy. They know their craft. I would definitely hire this company again. My only piece of advice is to ask questions. Mike is extremely knowledgeable. There was one thing that was mentioned after the fact that I wished I'd known beforehand like how the size of the showerhead chosen might affect water pressure. My fault, not his. Given the number of renovations they've done, I'm sure there is nothing you might ask that he hasn't encountered. I understand why this company has been listed as an award winner on Angie's list. We totally concur with that assessment. It is the reason why we gave the company all A's.

We used AD Home Improvement Inc for a bathroom/laundry project. From the very beginning and throughout the entire project Michael was extremely professional and very responsive. Like any project there were a few minor issues (not relating to AD Home Inc.) but we were able to easily work them out with the help of the team. The crew was extremely friendly and professional, and respectful. They showed up on time and cleaned up after themselves every single day. And the end results are just beautiful, I really love my new bathroom – they did a fantastic job. I am very happy with their service and would definitely recommend them and use them again in the future.

Mike from AD came to my home to provide an estimate. He was prompt and professional. A few days later a reasonable estimate arrived via email. I did not use AD because I was looking for a contractor that would provide everything for my bathroom remode. I did not want to have to shop for my sink, fixtures etc. I would definitely consider using AD for another job as I was impressed with he way he handled his business.

Called for a "Free Estimate" but the price is $200 since I didn't close on the house yet. The inspection on the house was completed and I just wanted an estimate. I didn't want to loose out on the $200 if another contractor gave me a better price. Of course the $200 would be included in the estimate if I went them.

AMAZING!!!!!!!!!! They were so professional. Excellent work ethic. The bathroom is just beautiful. AND they gave us a one year warranty. I would definitely use them again. I cannot wait to have them here again. It was a pleasure.

From start to finish, the only problems that we faced were to do with external factors such as getting a permit from Jersey City which took a very long time due to Hurricane Sandy and having difficulties with a Home Depot order that took a very long time to arrive from another store. Although we had agreed that I would have all the materials delivered to the house, AD Home Improvement very kindly helped me out by picking up the items from the store so that we could get on with the job.

I left a message for an estimate on my project and my call was returned the next day. Michael arrived the following day with professionally printed company literature, He listened carefully to my hopes, Again, in order to save money I wanted to use the kitchen walls as the background for the wainscoting, Two days later I received an email proposal, which was concise and detailed. We accepted and a start date was greed upon. Michael and his coworkers arrived on time, materials were laid out in the backyard and they went to work. Although not a part of the contract Michael included a wood backing for the wainscoting at no additional cost. (I truely think that made a HUGE difference in the finished product.) There were a few snags here and there, NONE of which were AD's fault, and Michael addressed my every concern promptly and professionally. He really went out of his way to provide us with every bit of assistance and material needed. Pablo and Luciano installed the wainscoting. I was stunned at how detailed and beautifully this was done. It far exceeded my expectations! The doors on my cabinets look beautiful and now have the slow closing feature that I LOVE. Everything contracted for and MORE was done by AD Home Improvements. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone!

I found this contractor on Angies List and wasn't sure I could afford the renovation that actually occurred without his suggestion of a local mortgage broker which allowed me to refinance and renovate at the same time (FHA 203k loan). What started out as just a kitchen renovation, ultimately included a new wood floor due to the condition of the existing floor in the living room, and the expansion of the living room to the enclosed porch area. Once approved, the project took almost two months. Overall, quality work. The contractor was very responsive to questions and concerns we had and very quick to fix any problems. I was responsible for providing my finishes -- tile, paint, cabinets, lighting, flooring, sink, appliances, and granite counter top. This was a bit of work on our end and a learning experience with how long some things took to purchase and order, as well as what would actually work best in our space. I also learned that its worth paying a bit more to have "everything painted" or professionally done. The workmanship and time saving is worth the extra money. Hopefully this contractor will be willing to come back for our next project!! Thanks! David and Pedro

all went well. the bathroom was a major job and was performed perfectly. left the house in good order (clean, no tools around) everynight and since this is the only bathroom in the house, they made sure that we were able to use the bathroom at night, even put a work light for us to use. ad home even came with us to help us pick out the tile, fixtures, helped with the paint colors, every step of the way was discussed first. second job was simple. insulate the attic. work done in one day and done right. third job was rebuilding the front porch. again decking was discussed before putting in because i wanted no nails in the trex decking and came up with clips that you can't see. put railing all around the porch (never had them before) put siding on the ceiling so that it matched the siding on the riest of the house and there is no wood to paint. overall with all the work done on the house, great job. michael ponce and his crews are the best. they actually listen to the customers.

I don't think the contractor was interested in my project. I am in the process of getting quotes to fix my condo in order to sell it. I did explain to AD Home Improvements that I was also in the market to buy a house and wanted to hire a company with which I could work in the long run.

There were a couple of design flaws that were not done properly that would make a large re-do undesirable for us and the contractor. We will live with these flaws.

They did a great job and I have no complaints with the service. They were very professional. They got the work done in about five weeks. He was a nice guy and was about six thousand dollars cheaper than a bid I received. I will be using them to remodel our kitchen.

We were very pleased with Mike and the craftsmen. They came every day when they said they would and Mike promptly returned phone calls or e-mails. It is very important to find a contractor who is reliable and has integrity. We found that with AD Home Improvement. The bathroom looks beautiful.

overall it was great work and they finished ahead of time.

He came to our home to survey the work to be done. He was very professional and had some very good suggestions for our master bathroom renovation. We did not receive the original estimate. We had to call, after 3 weeks, to have it sent again via email.

Estimate was for a small, 5'x9' unheated addition with simple footings and no plumbing, no carpeting, treated lumber stairs, and just sheetrocked. Price exceeded all other estimates by $9,000. Ridiculous. Felt like anyone who would have agreed to this price would have been taken advantage of.

I didn’t do business with them. They are a good company. Out of everybody from Angie’s List, they would have been the one I would have gone with. However, I ended up going with some other contractor. A D Home Improvement was going to start the project a bit later and it wasn’t immediate. They were also slightly more expensive. Overall, they were excellent. Their responsiveness, punctuality and professionalism were all excellent as well.

Mike was very prompt in returning calls and laying out the estimate. I had to purchase itmes like tile (did get discount because of his relationship with tile co), toilet, vanities, shower fixture, shelving etc. Had problem with inspector on size of drain pipe which lead to his crew having to access the pipes through the ceiling of my family room downstairs. They changed the pipes, closed the hole in the ceiling and made it look fine. Some delays due to tile delivery. Have to keep on top of crew as they do not speak English well. Had to explain how high I wanted tile to go on shower walls, direction and placement of tile etc. Some other small bumps that we were able to work around. Was very helpful in working around my schedule. Was very comfortable with the crew and their responses to my needs. Bathroom looks great, would use again.

We shopped this job to a couple contractors recommended by neighbors and friends and to a couple of firms we found on-line. A D Home Improvement was one of the ones found on line. Mike?s was the second lowest bid we received, he was the one we liked the best in terms of our perception of his integrity and competency to do the work. He is now the contractor I recommend to all of my friends and neighbors. Doing two bathrooms at once meant that there were some inconveniences we had to put up with, like showering and going to the bathroom on a floor different than the bedroom. We were pleasantly surprised with how careful and clean the crews were. They finished both bathrooms within contract limits, even though we had some issues with an inspector who was unsure how to deal with a steam generator. We were so impressed with the work that we asked A D Home Improvement back (in early 2011) to finish off a third bathroom that our son had started remodeling using some of the fixtures from old master bath.
