Well it started in April with some water damage , the Insurance company agreed to pay for new floors . I went to this store picked out the flooring... and so the drama begins and paid in full for it so I could get a discounted price of 10,000 for the wood alone , the wood was on back order , in the man time othr jobs were booked the wood had to acclimate ... then the sub floor was no good .. and when the insuranc company said his price was way to high to replace the sub floor and when I told him the insurance compay was sending there own contractor to look at the job. He had the nerve to call them and drop the price at this point im waiting 2 months for the work to begin ... the the job gets started they work one day take off for 3 days .. he hired one kid to do the work he never worked one day on the job .. nad every weekend we would come back to the house the work not finished . then he starts putting the squeeze on for the carpet deposit otherwise the works nit going to be finished in time for the holidays ... well it got very ugly ... we threw him out and let the contracor finish the work . hird another company to do the carpets .. I have come to find out just about everyone in the town that usd them ended up in court with them , th have since moved to Grantham New Hampshire . So beware

we are in the process of remodeling our home, and I wanted to give the business to a local vendor, as opposed to going to a national dealer (like a lowes or home depot). I am very consious of helping our community, and wanted to do the right thing. Brian's Carpet and Flooring office was neat, and while small, i felt comfortable with thier layout, and the knowledge/experience they seemed to bring to the table. I picked out my tiles, and went through tile layout with Brian -- he prepared an estimate, and we prepaid for the material (50% deposit -- which was around $3500). he commited to coming on a specific day, but hen showed up saying that he had ben sent the wrong tile -- he blamed the tile manufacturer, saying this happened all the time, and that he would dget to the bottom of it (he ended up blaming his wife for ordering the wrong tile later). he told us he woudl call/come back later in the week -- and of course, no word, no update, noshow. I called him at the beginning of the following week, and he commited to showing up for sure on thursday of that week. thrusday was a no show. firday was a no show. we repeatedly called the office - spoke to his wife (who works there too), and she comited to having him retunr our calls (both to us, the homeowner, and to our contractor, who was planning the work shcedule according to when Brina was coming). Brian finally showed up the next monday -but only to drop off a tile saw...and then he dissapeared for the rest of the day. this inconsistent show/noshow and non-communication happened for 3 weeks total. when he did show, he was there for a limited amount of time (2 hours or 3 hours at a time), and would only complete a small amoutn of work at a time. overall, he committed to show on specific days and then would not show, and wouldn't call. had an excuse for everything, and it seemed to be everyone's fault but his. was a distractiont to other contractors on the job (where he would be complaining or explaining "something out of his control" to them, and would tie them up for 30-45 minutes at a time). installed CHIPPED tiles, and was asked to redo portions of the tile work as they were uneven, and the borders didn't match up. grout was not applied evenly, and some tiles stick out more than others (catching water).
Description of Work: tile new construction bath -- floor and shower surround..
