Description of Work: Had a water heater and furnace installed. Great job by the Sanford team. showed up right when they said they would. Got the install done, walked us through operation and made sure we were happy. Very professional and Personable. Would definitely use them again and Highly Recommend.

Description of Work: I am not sure about the amount above because we started contracting with this heating company once we realized that they are ready to serve for less than Heritage and don't try to sell us on things we don't need.

Description of Work: We called Sanford about a problem with our 5 year old A/C system. We had signed up for aservice contract the year before because we had problems with it every year since it was installed (by a different contractor). They suggested we renew the service contract costing $150 per year. Then they inspected the system and found a leak and estimated $3k to replace the heat exchanger. I told them it should be under warranty since it had leaked every year since it was installed. I supplied receipts and the had inspected and added coolant themselves the previous year. But they said the warranty had expired and there was nothing they could do. We found another service provider(Sila) who estimated the cost at about half of what Sanford estimated and also worked with us to get some consideration under the warranty since it was clear from the service records that the equipment was defective. We subsequently canceled the service contract with Sanford and requested a refund but so far they have simly ignored the requests and have not responded.

Dear [removed member name] I am sorry you feel this way. Although this service visit was 2 years ago I was able to look up the job information. You did indeed have a maintenance agreement with us, and you did get the maintenance that you were due. I can certainly empathize with you for not being happy with the situation of your refrigerant leaks. However here are the facts as you wrote them. The system was 5 years old and not installed by us. You had multiple leaks in your condensing unit coil. The manufactures warranty was 5 years on the coil and it was out of warranty. We quoted you replacing the coil with all labor, refrigerant recovery, and recharging the system for $1800. Since your equipment was out of warranty we also gave you the option of replacing the condenser, and indoor coil with new equipment comparable to what you have for $3800. We never do any work without approval by the customer. Your maintenance agreement was canceled by you in April of 2014, when it was to be renewed for the following year.

Description of Work: The installation went fine, the technicians were on time, professional and did an excellent job as near as I can tell, not having had occasion to use the system yet. The estimate, pricing, customer service interaction was a bit questionable. I called this company originally because they sent me a "Welcome to your new home" letter with a $300 coupon for a new AC System Install. The man who gave me the estimate knew what I expected to pay, and told me it would probably cost twice that. He then wrote me an estimate with two options, the cheapest of which was about twice what I had expected. The sketchy part was he did not include the cost of having the power lines run out to where the unit would be. I later learned from the electrician that this cost was always included in the estimate and that he had never billed the customer directly for it. The Electrican called the company and insisted that they rewrite my estimate, as he would not bill me for that part of the job. I had to have some other electrical work done first to accommodate the system so his excuse for not including it was that I was having other work done anyway. When I told them about the coupon - they told me that they had already written the estimate so low to accommodate me that they could not accept the coupon. I did have the work done and the system installed, but the final result was that I ended up paying them $600. more than the original estimate - $300 more for the power line and the $300. for the coupon they would not accept.
