Bolte Construction

We’re in the middle of the job and it should finish up in two weeks. So far, things are going exceptionally.

We were very happy with Bill.  He came by the same day we called to ask for a quote, and came the next day to do repairs.  We needed drywall hung, and it looks awesome.  We laso had a large bathroom mirror to be hung and he did it all by himself and in very little time.  All the work looks great!  He was very personable, professional, and extremely responsive.  We plan to hire Bill for any and all needs in the future.

When family announced they were visiting for Christmas I went into full panic mode! I like to try to do repairs myself but the master bath shower was giving me a headache (literally, from the mold I had found after removing some of the tile and part of the wall) and with family coming, there was no way one bathroom would accommodate us all.
I first called a couple of contractors in town for an estimate before spotting the 'big deal' for 'Bolte -contractor for a day' on Angie's list. I checked out the reviews first then purchased the deal. Bill called within 2 days and came over to look at the shower - he gave me his honest opinion and some options and an estimate. He even worked with me on the price where I pitched in for a slight reduction.
Bill's master plan was to use his small army of contractors (including himself) to remove the old tile shower and moldy old wall down to the studs and replace with my requested acrylic (no leaks!) version. From Bill to the shower door company to the drywall guy, everyone was professional and polite (and quiet).
Bill's team went above and beyond the call of duty to fix some wall areas other than the shower that had been damaged during a cabinet removal. They didn't leave anything except a perfectly smooth surface that I can now paint. The shower was custom ordered and fitted to my bathroom - plus I was allowed to select the model I wanted.
Now I'm afraid to use it because it looks all shiny and new and perfect. I'm thinking I should just sell my house while it looks new! All kidding aside, it was a job well done. Highly recommend.

After contacting several contractors and receiving estimates, I chose Bolte Construction for my basement finishing project. While they were not the lowest bid (nor were they the highest), after speaking with Bill (Bolte), I felt the most comfortable with his company and I was CONFIDENT that his team would get the job done in the specified amount of time AND that they would do it RIGHT the first time. I was not disappointed! I was provided a detailed estimate up front, along with the payment schedule (1/3 right after they start, 1/3 after framing, 1/3 at completion), as well as a timeline of what would be completed when. We had a family member coming to visit, so it was VERY important that the job be completed on time. While we did have a delay or two (due to permit issues with the city), everything was completed ON TIME! His employees and the other folks that he contracted with (for HVAC, electric, drywall) were courteous and punctual. They took care to make sure they cleaned up any messes prior to leaving, which I really appreciate since I have a preschooler and a dog that like to explore. My opinion was sought often and I felt like it was valued--I like that I was asked what type of trim I wanted, whether I wanted wall texture, if I wanted certain angled walls painted white (like the ceiling) or the wall color--I feel like some contractors would have just made assumptions and I wouldn't have been as happy with the results. As it is, I LOVE my basement now! Everyone who sees it says the same thing, "Wow, this doesn't even feel like a basement!" That is exactly what I wanted--a warm, cozy playroom, as opposed to the cold, dark laundry/storage room that it was before Bill got his hands on it. In addition, Bill and one of his employees, Geoff, even assembled a large piece of furniture for me for no additional cost! They really went above and beyond and I've already recommended them to a few friends who are considering remodeling in the future. Great company, excellent communication and awesome folks--highly recommended!

Bill Bolte has got to be one of the most positive contractors I have ever worked with!  He is always very cheerful and has a very "can do" attitude.  He came out to see the project and we discussed the updates that would make it my dream bathroom.  When the bid came back quite a bit higher than our allowed budget, we talked about the changes that we could make to still get a first class bathroom within our budget.  Bill provided great suggestions for materials and products that would complete the look of the bathroom.  He was also open to discussing  home improvements that fell outside the scope of the project for which he was hired, and he was great at providing the resources and education needed for us to do the work at a later date.
I especially appreciate the care that was taken by Bill and his contractors when they were in my home.  Efforts were made to contain and minimize the dust and debris.  The majority of the work took place while my children were home as well, and their curiosity was not only tolerated, but they were encouraged as their questions were answered and they were allowed to observe.
I found that when I had specific questions about the work to be done and the details of the contract, Bill was always quick to get back to me via either phone or email with an answer.  The project did take about a week longer to complete than I had anticipated, but it was well worth the wait!

The work on the bathroom started on time, and he gave us names and choices of suppliers for the granite counters, removal of spa tub and replacement with large walk in shower, heated tile floor,  new sinks, faucets, mirror, toilet, as well as adding a closet, plus beautiful new cabinets, and painting and we had a gorgeous new bathroom!    All the contractors cleaned up every day, and took care placing mats over carpets and other flooring.  They were very careful with our home.   The price was as stated in Bill's estimate.   It was a pleasure to meet and work with Bill.   We were more than pleased and now, 5 years later, even more so... we highly recommend him.

In the Fall I went to the Home Show to talk to various people about remodeling my master bathroom.  I had talked to a couple before I stopped by Bolte Construction's display and talked to Bill.  After talking with him, I put a star on his card - I was impressed with his easy going, straight forward personality as well as the quality of the workmanship shown in the pictures he had on display.  While at the Home Show, I ran into a former co-worker and was explaining why I was there.  She immediately told me I needed to talk to Bill Bolte.  I laughed and said I already had and was quite impressed.  She gave a glowing recommendation.  Bill came out to my house and gave me a rough estimate.  Once I finalized a few additional details, I received a more accurate price.  It was a little higher than what I had in mind.  Bill was more than willing to work with me and provide advice on picking out certain materials that would help me keep the cost down.  He has a fantastic crew working for him.  All were extremely courteous and professional and respectful of my home.  Care was taken to keep any mess to a minimum.  I had planned on keeping my pets shut away while work was being done but Bill assured me they would not be a problem.  In fact, my little shy cat was so use to him by the end of the project, she wouldn't run away upon seeing him!  Throughout the entire process, Bill stayed in touch, letting me know who was going to be in the house and when certain pieces of the project were going to be done.  I felt comfortable contacting him with questions and I always received an immediate response.  My bathroom looks amazing!

The services rendered was perfect and it was painless and without headaches of normal remodels .  Bolte Construction took care of everything even the little projects they were not hired for.  It has been a pleasure working with them.  Bill Bolte is a wonderful contractor and Bolte Construction is highly recommended.  We have 2 more phases to complete the remodel of the entire building later this year and are using Bolte Construction again!
