Aksarben ARS

Aksarben Heating, Air conditioning, and Plumbing were very pushy. They tried to sell me a furnace. They scared me into thinking that my furnace was going to go out. We got a second opinion and found out there was nothing with our furnace. He was a really nice guy but he was pushy, and scared me to death over my furnace. I would not use them again.

Work was professional, but plumber tried to sell other expensive products. Price seemed out of line for difficulty and amount of work done.

Our hot water heater was not working properly. We contacted Aksarben and they came out that same day and fixed the problem for a very reasonable charge. We were very happy with their service and would use them again.

Tony our salesperson knows his business and answered all my questions. I did a lot of research before I hired Aksarben I know that I made the right choice. Wade the hvac tech sized the job up and went to work. He was thorough,professional and explained all the new features of the system to me in language I can understand. Marcus his helper was right there hard at work. They came back the following day and checked to make sure everything was right.We are very happy.

I am the second owner of my home. Aksarben installed my two Carrier heat pumps nine years ago when it was built. Five years ago when purchasing the home, one of the units was found to be in need of repair. Aksarben completed the repair and the units worked for about six months, then I had a failure. They promptly fixed it and indicated that the warranty on parts an labor was expired. Since, then I've had an issue with one or the other every 12 -18 months ( with increasing costs of repair). Recently, I had a condenser fan motor fail on one. They promptly sent a tech out (Tim). After inspection ($92), he decided that it needed a new motor ($539), a new capacitor ($213), a freon leak search ($131), freon (est. $250), Renew oil ($295), and his best guess to fix the leak was an additional ($1,200 to $1,800). There upon the sales pitch about considering a new heat pump was suggested. He also indicated that my Carriers were of a construction grade quality and that a new unit would be much better quality with a 10 year warranty versus the five year that I had on my units. After reminding him that his company originally sold and installed the units, I said great, I'll talk to your sales rep. In the meantime, I got the part number off of the motor on the unit and did a web search. Numerous companies, including Grainger, had the motor for $135. The OEM capacitor was $18. Needless to say, I was miffed. I ordered the parts as the install is easy. I did meet with their sales rep (nice guy ...Chris). I let him go through his pitch, then indicated that I would need to get additional quotes based upon Aksarban's seeming lack of integrity. He asked what gave me that impression and I shared the parts quotes off of the web. He indicated that he couldn't comment on the Service Dept's practices (I.e., wanting to make a 500% profit margin on the install), but he knew the parts and labor would be warrantied for one year. I thanked Chris for his time. Interestingly, his quote for another Carrier heat pump looked reasonably competitive. Unfortunately, even though I probably will replace one complete unit this year and another next year, I won't be purchasing them from Aksarben. I later heard from two other local Companies that Aksarben pays their service technicians on a commission -- hence, they tend to have inflated part prices on service calls. I'm sure that probably also helps them sell new units from time-to-time.

Everything worked out fine. Everything is expensive anymore.

We contacted Aksarben HVAC for a cooling consultation for the alway hot, second floor of our 108 year old home. The gentleman that came out was very polite and honest with us stating there was no way to effeciently and affordably install a return air duct to improve air circulation. He suggested other ways to cool the upstairs and pointed us in the right direction. We decided to stay with window air upstairs but did appreciate his honesty and knowledge.

It’s great and I like it. We have been using them for about 10 or 15 years. We have a yearly contract with them.

I was very dissatisfied with them. They were unprofessional, rude, arrogant in their manner, their price was too high, and it was one of their major problems.

They had a special in the newspaper. I would refer them.

We have been using them for about seven years. I give them an "A" overall.

Their service is good but it is pretty expensive. They are very professional but they try to sell stuff while they do stuff. Their service is good but I thought they are more expensive than it should be. Their quality of service is pretty good. I would probably use their services again in the future.

Instead of telling my wife what was or wasn't code, he should have asked what she wanted and offered a way to accomplish it, or alternatives that might be satisfactory. We called Aksarben's manager the next day, and were told that the plumber was a master and taught locally, so whatever he did had to be correct. When we asked about the valves and anchoring, we were told that if he wasn't asked to do those things then he wouldn't have done them. We called Aksarben because they had serviced the furnace in the house for the prior owners for over 15 years (their service labels were everywhere) so we figured they had performed well and knew the house well. Unfortunately, we felt as if we were just another work ticket.

The technical work was competent and available, but the marketing was excessive and the communication over products was poor.

They did the work on time, as promised. They had the equipment that I was interested in. They were also a larger, more well-known company in the area.

i called aksarben/ars to inspect and repair as needed. serviceman said heat exchanger was cracked. and inferred was very dangerous and needed to buy a new furnace. cost to be $4800. i called 2 (two) hvac local service providers, for 2nd and 3rd opinions. both reported no cracked heat exchanger,no co leaks into house.and furnace was working properly. (after an adjustment to the heating system)

The company came out the next day and installed. The installer went over everything with me. I was very satisified. I paid a competitive price, and knew I was dealing with true professionals. I have a sevice contract with them and they will be my H/AC company of choice.

They were referred by my neighbors and their service was excellent. The price and the fact that they stuck to the time they said they would come out and do it coupled with the lifetime warranty they offered is the reason I used them. They are very reliable and have done installations in many offices in Omaha. I will use them again in the future.

I received a flyer at my home advertising early bird heater check-ups. We just recently bought our house and I knew that Aksarben had done work on the heater previously. They advertised a rate of $57 if I contacted them by Oct 1. I thought this sounded almost too good to be true but I went ahead and made an appointment. The company was a pleasure to deal with from the beginning. The operator was very pleasant and the technician was prompt. He spent two hours cleaning and tweaking my furnace. After everything he did I fully expected to be hit with a higher bill but I was pleasantly surprised that they honored the original rate. I appreciated all the hard work the technician did in cleaning the furnace and the filters and the fact that he took the time to educate me about the system and how to maintain it. Awesome job, amazing company and one that I will not hesitate to use in the future!

We were worried that another company was trying to scam us. Called Aksarben for a 2nd opinion and a 2nd estimate. Our heat exchanger was indeed cracked and was proven to be cracked with a dye test. Original company didn't take anything apart and just said yes, must be heat exchanger. We had their sales people come talk to us on available products. He was very knowledgeable and knew how to break down the products and options in terms we could understand. We agreed on a new furnace as the cost for a heat exchanger replacement was very pricey. For a little more, a new furnace was the right move. They came out, took the old one away, and replaced it with a new one. They were done in a little more than 5 hours. VERY CLEAN and professional. They did forget to turn on the gas to the water heater. We called them the next morning when we realized it. They had someone out 20 minutes after the phone call to fix. After the furnace replacement, they have called at least twice as follow ups. I would recommend this company to anyone needing a replacement furnace.

The first service tech that came out tried cleaned out the hose from the unit that goes to the drain hoping that would take care of it. I didn't care so much for this tech; he was kind of slow and not very professional. When the problem continued, I called Aksarben the next day and they sent a tech out who was very knowledgable and professional. The problem was not easily resolvable, but he spent almost 2 hours at my home until he was satisfied the issue was resolved. I was pleased that I didn't get a runaround when the job wasn't done right the first time. Aksarben was great about sending someone else out and getting things done.

Their price quote for a Kohler toilet was so high I bought two at Lowes for the same price!!!

The technician arrived on time (and their dispatch called to let me know when he was on his way). He diagnosed the problem quickly (plugged air conditioner drainage hose) and installed a new coupling and hose in short order. He also examined the inside of the furnace/AC unit to ensure that things weren't "frozen up" using a small video inspection camera inserted through the hole normally used by the power humidifier. I asked lots of questions about the AC and the technician was very knowledgeable and professional. I used an Angie's list coupon that covered the cost of the service call ($75). Asksarben delivered (as promised by the good reviews on Angie's List) and I would definitely use them again.
