This is the second time that we have worked with Thrasher and this was overall a very poor experience. I had scheduled a date to have the work done and wrote it in my planner. When the day arrived and I received no reminder call I was a little worried so I called to check in and they did not have us scheduled to have work done. They managed to "squeeze" us in to have the work done but they were not able to come until later in the day and didn't have the tools they needed to get the job finished. They ended up drilling a hole in the wall that later had to be filled because they ran into problems and couldn't install the anchor. So we ended up with 4 anchors and 1 beam on our wall. They also measured poorly for the anchor covers so they were only able to install 2 of the 4 so we ended up having them remove them all so it didn't look so stupid, which created more unnecessary holes in our wall. The second day (4 days later) we left our house unlocked so they could complete the work. I received several missed calls from Thrasher on my cell phone (even though I had given my work number as a contact) stating that the workers were unable to enter the house because the door was not unlocked. THE DOOR WAS UNLOCKED and was the same door they had used for entry the previous work day. So they scheduled a THIRD day for the work to be completed for a job that should have taken only a few hours to complete. They did finish the job and the workmanship was decent and they did clean up after themselves. They could have been more careful with the yard -not necessarily the holes they dug for the anchors, but the equipment that they used for the drilling damaged the yard. Every one we spoke with from Thrasher was very professional apologetic and made efforts to address our concerns. There was a MAJOR lack of communication between the office and the crews in the field. Also they had the wrong address on our bill so I had to correct that when I provided payment. I asked for a discount due to the mistakes and NONE was given. We will not use Thrasher again.
Description of Work: They anchored and beamed a basement wall for us.

Response from Thrasher Foundation Repair - Omaha
[member name removed], I would like to apologize for your recent experience. We take 100% ownership over the scheduling error that was made. It was definitely an error on our part and we did do our best to fit you into the schedule the same day. I am sorry for any inconvenience that this caused you in the process. We will use this as a training opportunity for our office staff. The changes that had to be made to the job were not common and were unforeseeable. We had to change the solution slightly to adapt to your foundation. I am sorry that this was required and recognize that the communication could have been better. These types of problems are not our normal business practice and I apologize that you didn't get the typical experience. We pride ourselves on taking care of our customers and in this situation we fell short. I know my team offered you 3 free maintenance appointments in an attempt to make up for our mistake. If there is anything additional that I can do for you please let me know. I want to make you a satisfied customer. We will stand behind our work for the entire 25 years that we promised to you. Sincerely, Dan Thrasher

They are A+ graded with the Better Business Bureau and they are great people. They are excellent. They are very open and honest and they explain everything. They went through all the equipment and how it works and I couldn't give a better recommendation. There are people who will do it for cheaper however I don't know whether they'll do it as well. Between the tornados and the flooding they are very busy people.
Description of Work: I have been using Thrasher Basement Systems Waterproofing. They are correcting damage from a basement form a flood and they are waterproofing it and they are putting in a drainage system. They are in the middle of doing it.

Great workers; left basement totally clean. After many snow and rain storms the basement has remained 100% dry.
Description of Work: Installed their system of water proofing on inside perimeter of the house, with pumping mechanism, installed dehumidifier and sump pump -- electronic systems. Before work started, we were given complete details on the system, with very informative literature.

Prior to doing the work, a representative visited our home and thoroughly explained the process. We choose Thrasher because therir specialty is basement waterproofing. We prepared he basement ourselves, removing paneling and insulation from the walls and moving everything away from the walls. Thrasher thoroughly covered our belongings in heavy plastic as the repairs would create a great deal of dust. The waterproofing system was installed as well as a sump pump. The work was neat and clean. The entire process was completed in just one day. The company was very patient with us as we rescheduled the appointment twice. I would highly recommend them based on quality of service and excellent customer service.

Contacted Thrasher, who took time to hear my problem and provide me with multiple solutions. While over cost initially was overwhelming, the amount I would lose on resale with a water problem and all that comes with it would be significantly more. We chose to demolish our basement ourselves with the help of an electrician, which helped keep costs from rising. Overall, great service and an excellent investment in our home.

Good. The company did a test reading of the radon level in our home in mid February. The technician who set up and later read the tester were timely, knowledgeable and very professional. Based on the findings of that test, the technician gave us an estimate of the cost of installation. We scheduled a date in early March to have the system installed. Approx an hour before the installers were due, the company called to cancel due to weather. All items in the garage and basement that had been moved out had to be put back until we could find an alternate date. The company scheduler found a time two weeks later. The installers came on time and completed the job in an efficient manner. They also were knowledgeable and professional. Everything was cleaned up from their work and we were told how the system worked and to call if we had questions. We paid for a post installation test so the test machine was set up. We were to have received a call the following day as to when the test would be read. That call didn't happen and after 3 weeks we called Thrasher and someone was sent to set the machine. The follow-up reading was today. We are pleased that the radon level in our home has dropped significantly. Other things of note: With the estimate, a sketch of where the pipes run to the outside is included. The pipes are represented by lines in the sketch however the pipes are large, which of course they have to be to draw out and vent the radon gas. We hadn't given that any thought so it slightly changed how things are arranged in our basement. The other thing we weren't prepared for was the sound the fan makes operating the blower. The gas is vented to an area outside a bedroom in our home. There is noise (like a hum - not terribly loud but noticeable) associated with the blower and fan which we will get used to in time. We did learn today there is a muffler that can be purchased to reduce the sound.

It was ok. The installation of the floor was done well, and correctly. However, I shouldn't have had to spend the money on a misdiagnosis.
Description of Work: Originally, Thrasher came out to inspect to see if I needed a sump pump in the opposite corner of my house than where my main one sits. They immediately told me yes, I had to have one. Believing them, I immediately contracted with them to have one put in. After working with a construction company, I learned that my problem was my gutter downspouts. I contacted Thrasher, and they would not refund my deposit, so I had to use the deposit towards a floor installation. When asking a few other basement questions, the man that came to do the estimate had no clue to cause or other. He was intent on selling an additional sump pump. When the construction company came in, they answered all questions, and showed me that a 300$ gutter change was all that was needed.

Everyone arrived on time and got started the first day. They were always professional, respectful, and genuinly nice. They took measures to keep my floors covered and the door closed since it was December and extremely cold outside. Jeremy kept me up to date on the progress and what to expect next. The third and fourth day the drywallers came to do the ceiling while Kyle Liss and Shawn continued to do the walls, window, and trim work. If I owned a company, I would be proud to have these people as my employees. They obviously take pride in their work and want the customer to be informed and happy with the finished product. The electrician came Friday to run some lines and I believe an inspector stopped by also. After Christmas they resumed work for two more days and the job was finished a day early. I had planned to do the flooring myself so Kyle showed me the best way to get started, gave me a few tips and even ran a few lines for me. He said if I had any problems I could call and he'd walk me through it. Today the final inspections will be done and I expect they will pass with flying colors. One happy customer.
Description of Work: I had spent about 3 hours with the initial rep. going over the products and info on what will be done. A week later a couple guys came to get a look at the basement and do some measurements. I found out them they would be able to start earlier than originally planned. Everyone arrived on time and the process of turning block walls and a cement floor into a finished livable space began. This included a new sump pump, new windows, electrical, half bath, heat vents, wall, and ceiling. The price was more than I was initially expecting to pay and we did make some adjustments to bring it down. Overall, I am extremely happy with the finished product and would use this company again. The service was exceptional and the company obviously has integrity.

Everything went very well with this company. A different company told us that they wouldnt even do the job. My only complaint about them is that they threw the old beam in the dumpster we rented instead of removing it themselves. We have to pay for extra weight in the dumpster and it was already full so that was kind of annoying. We mentioned it to Craig when he came back to look at the job and he said he would say something to the company (I am assuming HR?) but we never heard back on that. But the job they did was good.
Description of Work: We hired Thrasher to add five support beams in the basement of a home we recently purchased. The previous owners had removed the beams and the house was visibly sagging. Craig came out to give us an estimate and tell us what would need to be done. We decided to also replace the support beam running horizontally that would be supported by the jacks. He got back to us that day with the estimate and we negotiated a price. He originally told us that it would not be any extra to remove the old beam and put in the new one (aside from the cost of the actual beam). I noticed on the estimate that was e-mailed to me that there was a $250 additional charge for removal of the old beam. When I brought it up he quickly took the fee off and once a price was settled on we booked them for the job. The crew arrived on time and started the job. It took about 8 hours and was completed. After a week or so we had a couple concerns and called to talk to Craig. He actually came out to address our concerns and put them to rest. I really appreciated that.

The work was done as requested. It took more time and money to perform the work than what I thought it would. In hindsight, I probably should have gotten a couple of estimates for the work to ensure good pricing. As it is, I got the work done and done well, but I don't know whether the pricing was good or not. I appreciate that the electrician did charge me less than his initial estimate since the work didn't take as much time as he had estimated.

We got everything ready that they required. They made 2 visits to the house. Had us sign a contract with 10% non-refundable deposit. They assured us they could work around the existing bathroom. On the day of the work the whole crew arrived and said "Oh, your bathroom has to come out". We cancelled. They did finally got their act together and figured out what needed to be done. They required full payment even before all work was done. They did not send an inspector as promised. "Oh, our on-site foreman does the inspection" [Of his own work] They are all about sales. Seeing what they actually do - this service is over-priced. My complaints are: Lack of coordination. Pushed to get the contract. New rep was not well-trained. A lot of glad handing "everything is great". But, Right hand did not know what the Left hand was doing. "We didn't have our meeting this week - sorry". Very slick promotional materials. Beware the dazzle. And buyer beware - they try to sell you the Cadillac - I talked them to 1/2 of the work, but still $6000. So, finally all work is done. The basement is dry - so far. I got a restaurant coupon as a parting gift. Decent gesture. Good luck !

When an unscrupulous plumber replaced a defective water heater under warranty I was told that the problem was an electrical short which ate through threads. I was pressured to upgrade, then threatened that the warranty on the water heater tank would be void if an electrician did not fix it. I found JB Electric on Angie's List and ratings were all favorable. Now I know why. Steve Dodge was the certified electrical contractor who arrived for the repair. He quickly assessed the water heater and informed me that this was a gas water heater and no electricity was involved. He placed a call to the plumber for me and apprised them as well. He was polite and professional. I was not charged for the service. Rest assured that I will call them again if I ever need an electrician. It is refreshing to know that there are still honest contractors available.

JB Electric did a GREAT job from start to finish. From the initial phone call to their business to the signing off of the completed job, everyone I dealt with was very professional, cordial, and easy to work with. I was very impressed and will definitely use them again in the future.
Description of Work: JB Electric installed and/or connected 6 new cable TV outlets in the house, plus wired up a water softener that had been relocated to our garage. All phases of the job: the contacting first call, the initial arrival of the technician for the estimate, the arrival of the technician to do the work, and the timeliness and quality of the work completed, were all done on time in a very professional and friendly manner. I have more work that I will need to have done before the end of this year and I will be calling JB Electric again to do the work. I highly recommend them to anyone who needs electrical work done!

I'm sure there are many fine electricians in the Omaha area. Many are nice guys. But whethering the economic storm of today, plus, gettings financially stiffed by my builder on top of that is rough! Jim Brown (owner of J&B Electric) has been our electrician from planning our new house before the foundation was poured (2009) up to today. We have made a few post-contruction changes and additions...Jim has been there to help us work out every situation. Jim has:installed a self-adjusting wall switch timer for our outdoor lighting; addded landscaping lights in front and to "highlight" our Water Feature; added security lighting in the back of our house; and, re-installed a pendant light over our kitchen counter. I will continue to swing work over to Jim when my need arises. You would do well to consider J&B Electric for your next project! Nice guys need to start finishing first!
