He showed up a few minutes late for the proposal part, but our house it a bit hard to find so that didn't bother me. He was friendly and knew what he was talking about, but on a few things we wanted done didn't seem too excited about performing the tasks, like tear down, which would have cost an extra $300, and putting up the lattice work which we ended up having to do ourselves. We chose him because his estimate was about half of what another estimate was. He showed up on time and finished the deck in a timely manner. It was good quality but I was not overly pleased that he used cement blocks to hold the deck posts in place instead of digging down and pour cement. The blocks did take away from the look of the deck and looked less professional, but now that the lattice work is up you can't notice them anymore so it isn't so bad. Our trailer court was running deal that if you spent more than $4000.00 on the outside of your trailer you would receive 3 months free in lot rent, which comes out to more than $800.00. I told him I needed a receipt but the original receipt he gave me at the end of the build was only for the final payment, it did not include the $2000.00 down payment we had already made, so if we would have turned that in, the trailer park more than likely would have refused it and not given us the lot rent credit. So from the end of August to the end of OCtober I tried to get ahold of him to get a more accurate receipt that showed the full payments of $3900.00. He did not answer my phone calls, e-mails, or messages until the middle of October. When I told him what I needed he said he would get it in the mail the next day. I still didn't receive for over 2 weeks. Since there was a deadline to turn it in with the trailer park, I ended up having to go to our banks to get our cashed check copies and send them in so we would receive the credit. I can't even count the number of phone calls and messages I left him with no answer or response. Since it was so much money that we were going to get credited by the trailer park, and since I had told him why I needed the receipt, I was rather frustrated that he couldn't simply send me a receipt, and after all the calls being ignored, I realized I wouldn't hire him again, as that whole situation made him look unreliable.
Description of Work: We had them build a new entry stairway onto our trailer and also had them extend it to make larger deck behind our entry way.
