They are wonderful. They come yearly and check my heat and air units. I am under contract with them and will continue to use them in the future.

Technician determined evaporator coil had a leak and recharged the unit. Also provided a quote for replacing the coil.

They were 'number one' on Angie's List and that was why I picked them. They come on the four seasons. They did a first class job. They came out and did what they said that they were going to do. They did the job. Their price included that I could call them back for the rest of the year if I had any problem.

They have done a number of things for us and I really trust them. They did our unit when we had problems and they stayed at our house for almost a week till they found out what was wrong. Another group had installed it and they did a poor job. O'Brien ended up replacing the unit and it works fine. They are very good. It worked out time wise. We were able to get a really good unit and we are very satisfied. It was a $12000 unit and we landed up getting it for $3000 and it was well worth it because we had issues with it every year. The ones that put it in, they actually had wires reversed and then they were going to charge us for mileage. They just did a very poor job. With O'Brien they are willing to follow through until they solve the problem. They ended up calling in a district representative when we had big problems with our unit. They go the extra mile. They are not the cheapest but if they solve the problem I think they are worth it. They gave me a decent price.

Billy (technician) was very courteous, knowledgeable, clean, and respectful. Came in, shown system layout, asked pertinent questions, gave plan and executed, came back with report, answered questions factually. very good experience, will probably use again. Could have been more punctual, or least given a call being 40 mins past appointment time... first appt of the day.

Fast, clean, efficient installation.

I chose O'Brien for a/c service based on recommendations posted on Angie's List. The office staff was very courteous and kept me informed on the technician's arrival time. Joey, the technician did an excellent job - knowlegeable and not afraid to get dirty. He even found a very dirty filter that I didn't even know was in the system. I signed up for a yearly service contract with them.

About three or four years ago I had the house remodeled. I didn't have heating and Ac work done because it was still working. I had several bids and I decided on this company. We negotiated the price. The owner, Mr. Jimmy, was very fair. They were so good, tidy, professional. This is the best contracting firm I have ever dealt with. It rained for a few days, they put up tents so they could keep working and keep everything dry. They did remarkable work. I would recommend them to anybody. They were so friendly and treated me so well. I got a better unit and a better price than many of the other companies that bid on the job. Everything is working great. They went above and beyond what I expected.

It went the way they explained it would and they did a great job. I would use them again.

I had another company check my heat pump after an over $500 electric bill. The company said that the compressor in the outdoor unit was not working and needed to be replaced. He gave me what I thought was a very high estimate to fix it, especially since the part was still under warranty. I decided to call a few other companies and get a ballpark estimate what it would cost to replace the compressor and as I suspected all were lower than the company that found the problem. I decided to have O'Brien come to the house, since they said that they do 2nd opinions for free and they had good reviews on Angie's List. The O'BRien technician that inspected the compressor verified that it was not working, but he also found what may have been the cause, a link in one of the coils. They fixed both in a timely fashion and the cost was still lower than the original estimate for just the compressor.

I signed a service contract with them for regular inspection after this service call. I had a very positive experience. The gentleman was very professional. He explained everything. I did not feel like he was trying to sell me on unnecessary services. If anything, he told me I could use less expensive filters and save some money. I don't have a basis for judgement on price because I am a relatively new home owner. The service contract seemed reasonable. I am not sure in terms of the part they replaced. I was kinda relying on the good ratings they had on Angie's List. I would use them again.

The technician was on time, informed me of each step in his work and estimated the cost as soon as he had diagnosed the problem. I asked for advice about replacing the unit, and he was able to give me a good idea of the reasons both to do so and to wait.

Our old unit died on the hottest day of the year. O'Brien lent us two window units to keep our house bearable until the new unit was installed. Their level of customer service is exemplary.

The heat pump/AC died during a heatwave. O'brien gave us a next day estimate on repair of the old pump or we could replace the entire system. The 10 year old system had had previous problems and to replace just the compressor was almost $1400. O'brien gave us 4 options for replacement and could do it within 5 days. We opted for a much more efficient new system that qualified for a tax credit and electric company rebate. Our net cost will be around $6000. The installation was done in one day and the workers were great. We did have a system failure two weeks later because the condensate line backed up. O'brien fixed it the same day. They arranged for all the county electrical and building permits and inspections. (There was one minor inspection issue that O'Brien also promptly resolved. Overall, I highly recommend this company.

Came out fast when the heat pump stopped working and were professional. $1,500 less than one local est. and $700 more than another (who offered a different brand of heat pump). Overall I'm happy with everything but mostly I trust that they took care of what I needed and did a good job. I would recommend them to a friend...

I contacted O'brien after picking up some of their marketing materials in the mall. I checked them out on Angie's List first. Everyone I dealt with was very friendly and professional and they did exactly what they said they were going to do when they said they were going to do it. Telephone calls were returned promptly and technicians all showed up on time and they were very careful to protect our carpets and wood floors even putting down protective runners from the entrance door to the areas where they were working. When the job was complete, they cleaned up everything and hauled away all materials and old equipment. Everything was done right and correctly the first time. Clearly the technicians knew what they were doing and the installation could not have gone any better. I did not have to call them back about anything although O'brien did call me after the job was completed to be sure everything was working properly and that I was satisfied (which I was - completely).

O'Brien's' was great to talk with. They came quickly and arrived on time. The technicians seemed competent, neat, and professional. They explained everything and let me tag along while searching for the leak. They left everything working and in excellent condition.

This company had saved us a lot of money. Another company was going to ripped us off, but this company were very honest with us, and were also very prompt. I recommend them over the "Big Guys".

They are timely, knowledgeable, and trustworthy. I would recommend them to neighbors and friends.

These guys were awesome! They were on time, professional, clean, and provided a great quality install. We were waiting until our upstairs unit crashed to replace the units so, we had gotten an initial quote last year. As luck would have it, it crashed on the first hot weekend we had. I called O'Brien on Monday to confirm the quote, we signed papers on Tuesday, and the install started on Wednesday. It was completely finished by Friday! We're so happy with the new units. From start to finish, everyone at O'Brien was absolutely amazing.

One of my A/C units was not working. We called O'Brien's and the guy that answered the phone said someone would call first thing in the morning(which was a Saturday) to arrange an appointment. They actually DID call back early Saturday morning AND showed up shortly afterwards. They were punctual and informative. They saved us from a sweltering weekend!!

I called the company. They sent a technician. He fixed the problem.

Both the administrative staff and technicians were professional and accomodating. Their performance was outstanding from start to finish.

Obtaining a prompt appointment was very easy; the receptionist was courteous and efficient. We were pleased that they were williing to come to our area; we live in Columbus County about 35 miles from Wilmington. The technician arrived on time and was pleasant and respectful. We were displeased by his talking about how our units should be replaced before he fully inspected them and determined what was needed. He said replacement would cost approximately $13,000 and although there was no "hard-sell" involving this, we would have preferred he approach the problem first with a mind to keeping the old units running. When we told him we could not afford replacement at this time, he accepted this and performed service to inspect both units (which turned out to be working adequately) and cleaning the drain lines to try to prevent further leakage. When asked about the possibility of future leakage, he disappointed us by saying he could not guarantee that it would not happen. He suggested a possible more permanent fix (raising the condenser and moving the drain line), but he did not recommend our doing so, or offer how much it would cost. We felt that he was less than fully knowledgeable regarding our problem and that we did not get particularly good value for the $250 we spent.
