Description of Work: Routine winter furnace check-up. They charge $179 for two tune-ups- winter and spring. Mike was very helpful and helped me understand what is needed to keep my gas furnace and air conditioning system in good shape.

Description of Work: Dean came out to look at our heat pump unit which had been struck by lightning, and offered us a quote to replace it. Because it's summertime, we did have to wait about 2-3 weeks for the installation, but in the meantime, they were nice enough to loan us a window unit to keep our house cool. | |Two people came and worked for about 6 hours to install the new whole-house system. They did a great job, as far as we can tell. Our basement/crawlspace is lined with plastic and they carefully pulled back the plastic around the old unit and put the new unit in as we had asked. They had to replace a few ducts in order to get the system in. They even notified us of a non-HVAC related issue they had noticed while they were down in the basement, which was much appreciated!

Description of Work: Purchased as an Angie's List "Big Deal." I had purchased a new HVAC system through another HVAC company and was receiving poor response from them with regard to problems. Gentry came and spent approximately 2 hours inspecting the new system. They made numerous suggestions and recommendations that would rectify my issues. I wish I had purchased my system through Gentry. However, because of warranty issues related to labor I had to offer my original HVAC vendor an opportunity to rectify the problems.

Description of Work: Our service contract now includes a third electric heat pump which was installed over 12 years ago but never operated in that 12 years. Gentry's knowledgeable technician checked out each part of that system separately and carefully so as to allow for the least possible damage if any parts failed; and some did. Each part being carefully replaced as needed until that entire system was fully operational just like the others, one of which is 28 years old. |Gentry's system replacement analyst, after thorough inspection of that 28 year old system gave us not only very reasonable new system replacement information but an accurate comparison of the differences in cost of retaining the old system verses installation of the new, and there has been absolutely no pressure to make that purchase. |In fact our technician has been very helpful in giving some life extension to the old system. |I strongly endorse using this business for your Heating and Cooling Service. Knowledge and integrity at a reasonable price.

Description of Work: We purchased a heating and a/c check. Will arrived on time, and was meticulous in his explanations to us, wanting to know at each step of the discussion whether we understood his feedback to us. He encountered a problem requiring the ordering of parts and explained that process to us, also setting the a/c equipment so that it would continue to get us through the current heat spell until the part could be received and the problem could be totally rectified. There was an unexpected issue after the first call, which necessitated us speaking with the answering service. We elected to wait until the morning and spoke with the office; all personnel were friendly and helpful. Will called us back, took ownership of the situation and came back, resolving the situation quite satisfactorily. We are very pleased with Will's professionalism and caring, and recommend Gentry highly.
