Went very well. Apparently, lots of leaves and debris were in the system which he cleaned out. He also told me not to keep anything near it as it so I moved things around in my enclosed shed.
Description of Work: The provider spent over an hour cleaning out my airconditioner and making sure the system was well maintained. I like him so much that I signed a bi-annual maintenance program with his company.

Great experience. Justin (technician) arrived 15 minutes ahead of schedule. He was courteous and professional. He explained to me the adjustments/maintenance performed and answered all of my (many) questions. He was very thorough -- adjusted the gas pressure, checked the electrical and burner components, and repaired loose parts on the furnace housing. Overall a very positive experience. Would definitely use Gentry Heating Inc. again.

The upstairs unit in my house ceased cooling at about 7 pm on the Friday before Labor Day. It had been completely charged with refrigerant a day before so something was obviously wrong. I called Gentry the next morning and talked to the on-call service tech, John. He had one other call to take care of and then came to my house. The problem was diagnosed as a screw rubbing a hole in the coil which caused the coolant to leak out. Because of the location of the hole, he was unable to fix it and said it would have to be replaced. Replacing the coil would have been a bit more than half the cost of a new unit. Since a new unit would allow me to use the new, more environmentally friendly Puron refrigerant, I decided to go that way. Furthermore, since both units were 10 years old, I decided to replace both of them to get more energy energy efficient cooling, update to the newer refrigerant and take advantage of a good deal I could get as the owner of a Gentry Maintenance Contract. Since this was before the Labor Day holiday, with delays in ordering the units, getting them delivered and scheduling installation, the non-functioning upstairs unit was not replaced until 09/16/2013. Fortunately, the weather was relatively cool so it was not a big problem. I was very impressed with the various Gentry techs involved in the effort and we are very pleased with the new units.

The HVAC people that came to work on the furnace were polite, professional and jovial. A pleasure to do business with. And all of this was in contrast to our previous HVAC contractor who insisted that we would have to replace the furnace if we wanted them to continue to service it. Needless to say, the ingenuity, can-do attitude, quality service and red carpet treatment won our business over to Gentry.
Description of Work: Cut open an air intake line where the pressure seemed to be out of balance and removed a plastic Easter egg from it, replaced section of line and the furnace worked great. Returned for some other minor maintenance as well. The company even retroactively applied the Energy Saver plan discount to the bills paid prior to signing on to the plan.

You always get a live operator when calling so that is nice. The people that came out were very nice and prompt. They cleaned up after themselves well. Overall it was a good experience.

Tech was excellent! Very friendly, on time, knowledgeable and willing to answer all of my questions (and believe me I had lots since my hvac system hadn't been serviced by the previous home owner). There was some initial confusion about the one year service agreement ( I bought an Angies List deal and the tech had never had a service call using the offer) but he very quickly spoke to the office managers and had everything straightened out. They honored the one year service agreement and I will very likely extend the agreement after the year passes. The tech took his time, explained all the work he was doing on my system and was kind enough to give me tips on how to properly maintain my system between tune ups. Very helpful tech and I would highly recommend him/Gentry to others.

It turned out very well. He was just a real nice guy and explained everything to me and I just let the house like a year ago and the air conditioner and nothing had been checked other than the initial inspection and he said everything was fine and only still had a few good years left on it and which was nice to hear from. There was no additional charge. I would definitely use them again in the future.

Fantastic service. Justin was on time, very thorough and super polite. He found a leak and repaired it in no time. He didn't charge us for the use of coolant in diagnosing a problem with a valve in the outdoor unit. They had to order the part, but it was in and installed within 48 hours. The cost was exactly in line with Justin's estimate. Crystal at the office followed up within 24 hours to check on things. Overall, it was a great experience. I have already recommended them to friends and will use them again.

The salesman was prompt, thorough, no high pressure sales-talk, just presented the info I needed, and was a really pleasant person in general. He didn't mind crawling thru the muck in the crawlspace. The installers were also professional, and completed the work (and the cleanup) quickly without disrupting my life. They all were prompt (i.e. kept their appointments), and not sloppy considering the mess they were in. I had gotten other estimates from 2 other Asheville companies, and Gentry offered the best value for the price.
