The company was accommodating and easy to work with prior to the installment of the Waterproofing system. We purchased our home November 2014. During one of our visits to our new home we discovered a leak in our basement coming through our front steps and leaking under our sill plate. We also had efflorescence residue along the same wall as our front steps. Additional there was efflorescence on a rear corner of our basement. We had several different companies out to give us an estimate on waterproofing the above mentioned areas. Shamrock Waterproofing won our business. They showed up on time a began work. I noticed that they workers were not going to the agreed height to take care of the water issue by the front stoop. I called the owner to address the issue and he never returned my call. Instead he called his foreman who was on the job. The foreman Andrew told me that if there were any concerns to "go through" him. The job finished and the waterproofing system did not go to the sill plate. I was told if there were any issues they would come back and fix it. Less than 2 months later after the winter ice began to melt the front stoop area leaked. I contacted Keith Locker via email along with pictures. They did come back out and attempted the repair again and again it leaked. I contacted Mr. Locker for a refund. He said that he would fix the exterior motar joints of my front porch but I refused. I will not have his company step foot into my house as I'm afraid of what may happen next. I feel as though I was taken advantage of and will not have his company do a $30 repair on my steps when I paid over $5000. I have contacted my credit card company and filed a complaint with the BBB. Hopefully he will honor my request for a refund as I would prefer not to have to go to small claims court. I would not recommend this company. They had many A ratings on Angie's List, but the experience other people had is not what i had. You may notice in many reviews that Keith Locker dealt directly with the homeowner. In my case, I called and emailed him repeated when I realized there were issues with the workman ship and he never once responded to me. He finally called and we arranged a time to meet and he did not show up. When he finally did show up, he offered to put mortar on my steps - why did I pay $5000 for a waterproofing system if all I needed was a little mortar added to my steps? Interesting question....

These guys were great! They completed all of the above work in three days, and everything was hand-dug and looked amazing. You could barely tell where they had dug and buried pipe because they were so careful to put the soil, grass and mulch back over the pipes once they were buried. The results have also been great - we've had several hard rainfalls since they completed their work, and haven't had any issues with our backyard turning into a swamp. We did notice that a couple of gutters still drain into flowerbeds (we'd excluded them from the original work, since we weren't sure whether that would be an issue), so we'll be calling these guys back to pipe the water from those gutters away from the house as well. Andrew pointed out that this might be an issue when they were doing the original work, but actually suggested that we wait and see how the water traveled after a hard rain before they performed that work, just in case it wasn't necessary. Some of our neighbors even took down their information and made appointments upon seeing what a fantastic job the guys were doing!
Description of Work: Installed french drains in backyard, installed drainage pipes under house, installed water barrier underground on one side of house, installed (buried) pipes to direct gutter runoff into drainage ditches (instead of our flowerbeds), sealed cosmetic/non-structural cracks in brick facade and foundation.

On the day Shamrock came out to work, my neighbor texted me to say "there are four men in your yard absolutely tearing it apart" so I was expecting a mess when I returned home from work that day. NOT. Mulch, sod and even plantings had been returned to their proper places; the only way Mark and I could even tell that new French and hard drains had been installed in our yard were the two new pop-up valves in our grass doing exactly what they should be doing, diverting water to a safer place. I am absolutely thrilled with the craftsmanship of Shamrock's work. We definitely will call upon them for help in the future as needed.
Description of Work: Our house sits on a very steep lot, and our front sidewalk is showing signs of erosion underneath it. We feared the worst and were anticipating needing to install a new retaining wall, etc. Keith, the owner, came out, took a look and immediately reassured us that we just need to divert some water run off with French and hard drains. His estimate of $700 was significantly less than we feared.

Initial visit for evaluation and estimate was quick, but it was a little over a month before we could get our work scheduled. When our service day came the crew arrived on time and worked quickly to get everything done. They were very tidy, they replaced the sod and cleaned up after their work in the crawlspace as well. The work performed solved all our water issues in the crawlspace. If we did have a problem in the future I would certainly contact them again.
Description of Work: installed sump pump and french drain in crawlspace. Burried two gutter downspouts and pipes, which they routed to a new pop-up valve in corner of yard.

Timetable was pretty tight for this, since we had to meet closing and due diligence deadlines. Keith Locker came out on a Friday for an initial assessment, pinpointed the likely source of the problem right away. I had drywall removed the following Monday, Keith returned Tuesday for a complete lookover. Had an estimate Tuesday afternoon and the work was completed Thursday morning. Great respect for Keith, Michelle, and the work crew. I would definitely recommend Shamrock.
Description of Work: Diagnosed and remediated a moisture/mold problem in basement of my house. Problem was uncovered as part of home inspection prior to sale. Shamrock added drainage to the affected area, connected it to existing house drainage, sanitized the affected wall and put up moisture-resistant panels on the affected area.

The first visit they dug up the area by the leak and patched the area. They thought the sewer drain line was cracked, but when the looked at it, it wasn't. The ground was saturated, but we have been getting a lot of rain. A couple of days later, the leak was still occurring. They came back and dug up the hole again. They noticed that the sewer line wasn't cracked, but the connection was broken. They advised me to contact a plumber and they would leave the hole open for the plumber, but if the plumber wasn't able to come by before the next rain, they would fill in the hole. I arranged for a plumber and they fixed the sewer pipe, did their own waterproofing and filled in the hole. A few days later it rained again and still my basement was leaking. I contacted the plumbers and arranged a date to come out. I also asked Shamrock if they could also come out at the same time so they could make sure everything is good and they agreed! They worked with the plumber and (hopefully) fixed the leak (it hasn't rained since the fix). Everyone at Shamrock was very professional and courteous. Things are bound to go a little wrong with repairs and they were very willing to work with me on this. The only thing I regret is that Donald didn't stay around long enough for me to thank him (the plumbers finished up).

We contacted Shamrock for a problem we were having with moisture in the crawlspace. Andrew came out to inspect the job and came back with a proposal on time. The job involved extensive diigging around the foundation with the installation of a new barrier and drain pipes to deal with the water. The crew did a great job in trying to salvage as much of the landscaping as possible given that some of our hedges/shrubs are very large. Andrew was also great about answering the many questions I had. Prior to contacing Shamrock, I had interfaced with another company and ended up with a very unsatisfactory customer service experience. I am glad that I was able to find Shamrock. This is the company to use.

Before talking with Keith at Shamrock, I had previously talked to two other company representatives, one of which gave me an extremely high estimate on work that I felt I actually did not need. When I talked to Keith, he understood perfectly what I wanted; he knew exactly what I needed, and explained in detail exactly what they would do. I was very impressed with him and felt extremely confident with his knowledge and with his being in charge of the project. I've also been impressed with his staff -- his assistant willingly and happily worked with me on a scheduling issue and I was treated extremely well. When the three workers arrived to start the project, they were punctual, efficient, and did an excellent job, in a shorter time than I had expected. They were very neat with the work, very professional, and didn't leave any debris or sign of the work they had done. I recommend them highly, and I would definitely hire them again.
Description of Work: Shamrock replaced, hand-dug and buried a very long water drain line that connected to the front side of my house and extended all the way down the side of my house, past the deck, past the back yard and down to a small stream.

I had a problem with my garage, which is under one end of my house, flooding or leaking through the block walls. The owner, Keith, inspected the garage, measured and provided a detailed contract of the work to be performed and the cost. The crew arrived on schedule and got right to work. They moved the bushes and plants from around the foundation and proceeded to hand dig down to the footing. The walls were sealed with a waterproof spray and membrane. Drain pipe was installed and run to a lower area of the yard. A second drain pipe was installed and the down spouts from the eaves were hooked up to carry the rain water away. When the installation was complete the crew replanted the landscaping! What a great job! I had a problem that Angies List got involved with and the problem was solved in a very professional manner.

I had some serious flooding problems in my yard whenever there was a significant amount of rain. Most of the water was coming out the woods into the back of my yard which would pool up and come too close to the foundation of my house. Keith identified the problem areas, suggested some bigger drainage pipes and a french drain and then completed the work in a day. I have not had a problem since even with the heavy rains that have happened since. I am very pleased with the work and would recommend them highly!

We had serious drainage issues in front yard. We had standing water in several areas every time it rained. Since they performed the work in May we have had quite a bit of rain and to our surprise no standing water AT ALL. We are so impressed with their professionalism and expertise in fixing our drainage issues. We also received a much higher quote from another source who were not installing as many french drains.

They always responded promptly. They showed up when expected. Their price was a bit lower than an alternative. They were professional. They were pleasant and friendly. The biggest thing is that this work was being done in a tiny backyard that is completely filled with pebbles/small rock. The rock is of two different colors, one marking the walking areas and the other is where you would normally mulch. To keep the two colors of rock from blending there are larger rocks bordering the paths and small sitting area. We were very worried, and even expected, that they would mess up the rock work and we'd end up with them all mixed together. We were shocked and so happy to see that it was 100% perfect when they finished their work!! They even smoothed out the areas where they had walked! When our daughter saw the yard that evening she didn't believe they'd been there! We can't say enough about the effort and care they put into doing a good job!

Shamrock Waterproofing was very responsive when we called after our basement flooded. Our house if over 50 years old. They recommended digging through the concrete floor and put trenches inside the perimeter of the house with French drains. They added a sump pump and two outlets for dehumidifiers to pump out automatically. The entire staff Mr. Locker employs and of course, Keith Locker himself, were extremely professional. The job supervisor, Andrew listens well and seems genuinely concerned about doing a good job as well as the welfare of his crew. The crew was fantastic. The four men worked for three days completing the job a day ahead of schedule! More important to me was the fact that they were as quiet as they could be. Other than having to run jackhammers, they worked diligently and were all business. Very polite and nice guys! The new concrete they poured looks great; nice and even and smooth. I am very happy with how this massive project was handled. I have complete confidence they did an excellent job, even though a hurricane or six-hour down pour of six inches of rain has not happened to test it yet. I trust Mr. Locker will take care of anything that might be amiss should that happen. I give them my highest recommendation! And thanks to Shamrock Waterproofing for helping us get our mother-in-law basement apartment secured and dry for my Mom to live there comfortably and without worry.

The crew was on time and completed all of the work as agreed to. They had a very large crew and were able to finish the job quicker than I expected. They did come back twice to resolve a couple of minor issues. The first trip was to re-position the vapor barrier, add a bit more plastic (vapor barrier) and answer a few questions. The second trip was to remove some of the excess dirt that was added to the middle of my crawl space (from the trench area) and regrade a bit. Andrew was great to work with for the follow-ups. Would use these guys again.
Description of Work: Performed work in our crawl space and area around our AC units. For crawl space, built interior drainage system including new sump pump basin. Installed new vapor barrier. Easy to deal with and professional contractor. After initial contact by email, Keith scheduled a free evaluation. Once here he took the time to listen to all of my drainage concerns and made recommendations of things I could do myself as well as how his recommendations all connected together. Instead of an expensive sump pump, he felt a drain could deal with my crawl space water issues and could be connected to other sources that were creating water on that side of the house so that they could drain by the curb instead of other areas of my yard. Scheduling was a breeze. His crew was professional and performed the work quickly. They were careful with the landscaping and asked me any time there were concerns such as where to put extra dirt. I was even able to convince my neighbors to extend their drain and they felt comfortable using Shamrock too. I've now seen the truck again in my neighborhood and so glad my neighbors are also using them. Keith did an excellent job of explaining everything, not overselling, listening to my concerns and carrying through the project professionally. I would not hesitate to use him again.

Shamrock was recommended to us by our realtor. Keith gave us a free estimate and when I asked about a more expensive option he was very honest in telling me that it really wasn't necessary in our situation. His estimate was right on target with the final cost. His team arrived about 10 am and stayed ALL DAY to finish the job. They were very nice and informative as well. The yard was clean when they left and I would highly recommend them. Our house footprint is about 2400 sq feet and I found this price very competitive. I will definitely call again in the future if needed.

I've noticed standing water in my crawlspace that needed attention before things got ugly. So, I did what you're doing and jumped on angieslist to find credible companies. I found a slew of them, and had them come out to assess my situation and give me an estimate. Let me go ahead and save you the time and trouble of going through all the other estimates?Believe me, a lot of my time involved?to let you know that Shamrock is the company of your choice. Keith came out and was one of the few that crawled under the house to have a look. I know what you're thinking, "Really? All those companies and not one crawled under the house??" Shockingly, yes. Keith was honest, formal and approachable. A person that I feel wasn't trying to upsell me with unnecessary "solutions." With that in mind, we decided on Shamrock for the waterproofing system. I gave Keith the greenlight and he was out promptly to install the system. I came home that afternoon and crawled under the house. I won't say Shamrock turned my crawlspace into a magical place that I wanted to turn into my master bedroom, but it was pretty close. The crawlspace looked sharp. From the outside, I couldn't tell anyone was there, but when I opened up the crawlspace door; the wonders that awaited! Okay, I know at this point you're thinking, "How can you be this serious about a crawlspace and how much have you had to drink?" Well, I can tell you after going through countless companies, I'm happy finding someone that can provide a great service at a great cost, and two beers.
