The team arrived on time and had the necessary equipment to do the job. They walked me through the plan and gave me a really good idea of what it would look like when completed, and asked if that was okay. We checked in at different points throughout the day. Really great job, attention to detail, consistent responsive communications, very considerate to my needs and clean up/ end of job was great. Nicolas is a real pro, he knows how to do things right. Nicolas personally stopped by after the job was complete to make sure everything looked good, planted MORE grass seed around the wall areas. He also came back again and relocated some remaining heavy materials that I couldn't move my self to a more suitable area, no charge, just another customer service plus.

Wonderful outcome. Exceeded expectations Perfectly blended our older hardscape into the new. Created an incredible backyard oasis. Blended our old lighting into a new scape at night making the area usable in the evening with ambient lighting. Tastefully done. They having amazing work ethic and are timeless. Cant speak higher of my satisfaction with the projects Nicolas's hardscape has done for us.

Our backyard was an uneven, soggy mess full of tree roots and rocks. The whole neighborhood drains to our property. We wanted to solve those problems, plus put in a new paver patio (17x25' with a seating wall). We are delighted with the end result. We met with 6 companies for this project. Nicolas had the clearest vision for the space by far, with specifics on which dirt he would move where, exactly where he'd put a swale, the height and position of a retaining wall, etc. He was the only person who gave me an estimate on the spot, following up in writing that evening. The crew was professional and friendly for the entire 4-day job. The work was excellent and so was the cleanup. They left my gravel driveway (not part of the work) in better condition than when they arrived. No trash anywhere. Before work started, when I had a question, I had an answer within 24 hours. Nicolas came back out to the house 2 weeks before work started to make sure we both understood exactly what I wanted and exactly what his team was going to do. He offered me options I hadn't thought of, some of which I took him up on (a larger patio) and some of which I didn't (built-in lighting). When a problem came up at the last minute with our wall stone unexpectedly going out of stock, he upgraded it to a nicer one at no cost to us, after checking that the color and style would be OK with us. After the work was done and the check was cashed, he contacted me after the first big rainstorm to see how the new drainage functioned. We had one small low spot that was still collecting water. His crew came out on a Saturday morning to fix that for us. I wholeheartedly recommend Nicolas Hardscape and Drainage and will be recommending him to anyone I know who needs this type of work.

Great work! The result looking as much art as engineering. Three separate areas with drainage problems in a sloped yard around the house. These were things that kept me up and night and worrying every time it rained. The first at the end of the driveway, where it was starting to erode badly, near the front door where water ran towards the house, and in the back yard where the flow of water was eroding a steep bank. They put stone edging in several places to keep water flowing where it should (and improved the overall appearance in front of the house). They installed a drain and regraded the ground at the end of driveway, regraded the front of the house and installed another drain that flows under the driveway (replaced the cement cut out with pavers). Finally they built a 30+ foot dry rock creek bed to control the flow of water down the slope in back. Took about four days to complete. Worth every penny. Nice guys in the crew and Nicolas responded immediately from the first time I emailed inquiring about getting help and from then on throughout the entire project. Communication between the project manager and customer is absolutely key in any project and Nicolas does this very well. How refreshing that is!

Nicolas and his team did an excellent job in basically transforming our yard into a peaceful sanctuary and entertaining area. The new brick patio, walkway and stairs were the result of Nicolas working closely with us throughout the process to transform our vision into reality and was able to use his experience and eye for detail (and basically what would look aesthetically best) to really bring out the finishing touches in the project. He is very mindful of the big picture and how little details like how to effectively design the project with drainage in mind and ensuring best approaches to maximize on a return for our investment. The working crew were punctual and hard working and you can tell they have been doing their skilled trade for years and the craftsmanship really shows through in the finished work. This is the second time we used Nicolas and there were several of the same crew members from a couple years back so you know they are a tight nit team that takes pride in their work. In addition, Nicolas is a true professional which is essential for large scale projects that can be a bit stressful on the home owner and his focus is to ensure the customer is satisfied which shows not only throughout the project but with his follow up check ins after the work is complete. Also, he was able to provide excellent referrals for additional work we needed done so his network is full of top notch professionals. I highly recommend Nicolas and his team!

We just built and moved into our new house and I knew there was only one crew I would allow to work on our hardscaping. This is the fourth time (3 in our old house and 1st time in the new) we have used Nicolas and his team over the years and once again they didn’t disappoint. We will be installing a pool in the near future and for me this is the only crew I trust to land our vision and to have a reliable and maintenance free install for years to come.

The day shifted around a bit due to changing schedules; but on the scheduled day, Nicolas and his team showed up promptly and were beginning work before I even set food outside the front door of my house. Nicolas and I had discussed replacing the sidewalk of the house with pavers, effectively connecting a new concrete parking pad and some of his former work together with a new paver sidewalk. As the project progressed, I realized it wasn't quite what I had envisioned for placement and leveling. Nicolas worked with me to explain why the sidewalk was being laid out as it was and what the water drainage concerns were that led to it. As the project continued, he wasn't able to be present in person, but continued to work with me and his crew over the phone as I had questions to reach a final product that I approved of. You can see the result in the attached photos. I was very happy with the end result. As always, Nicolas and his crew were friendly and professional. I would hire them again.

Great so far. Beautiful design Walkway appears to keep water away from front of house and visitors feet dry. Designed a great lighting system to accentuate our new path as well.

Amazing! Nicolas and his crew are the most incredible workers we have ever encountered. They arrived early and worked late every day. They far exceeded our expectations. They were easy to work with and delivered more than they promised. We will employ them again for another hardscape project. We cannot speak highly enough of this organization. Very professional. They are so in demand that you have to plan ahead.

The job Nicolas Patio and Drainage did for us was outstanding and well within accepted costs for a project of this scope. The outcome was that all drainage issues on three sides of our hillside house were resolved and we ended up with a beautiful new stepped patio across the front and attractive walkway/landscaping down the side. The workmanship was excellent and far beyond expectations. Nicolas himself was dedicated to our satisfaction, always met commitments on time, dealt with poor weather and provided the best communication we've ever experienced from a contractor. This was a major job and his team of Manuel, Simon and Andy demonstrated their care, knowledge and expertise at every step of the complex project from excavation, wall and step prep, repeated layers of base compaction and through the final installation and cleanup. We will definitely hire Nicolas for any new work and recommend him for any hardscape and drainage project.

Nicolas and his crew were very punctual and communicative about the options before and during the project. They were accurate with the estimated start date and cost, and adaptable when we increased the scope to include a walkway to our drive and a location to store trash and recycling. We plan on using them for our future landscaping needs.

Nicolas and his crew are amazing. Our ugly dirt backyard was essentially unuseable. They transformed it into a beautiful herringbone brick patio, with a matching sidewalk leading out to the driveway. Their craftsmanship is impeccable. More importantly, they fixed our flooding & drainage issues, since every rain seems to be a monsoon now. They installed a handsome retaining wall (with lights!), and graded and installed drains through the side and front yards. Nicolas and his team are courteous, patient, incredibly hardworking and responsive to our questions. We highly recommend Nicolas and are looking forward to working with him again!
