Used $49 deal from Angie's list. Good and thorough service and check-up. Price was great for additional refrigerant needed and fan capacitor. Stephen did a great job and was kind and courteous. Very recommended.

I called the office and they scheduled an appt for that afternoon. The office staff was very friendly. They contacted me when the technician was on the way and he arrived right in the middle of the window they gave me when they scheduled the appt. The technician was friendly and seemed knowledgeable. After he completed the service we could notice an immediate improvement in our A/C.

The service was great and the technician, Steve Rardon, was absolutely awesome. He took the time to explain the details of my system to me and left me WAYYY better off than when I started. I had originally purchased the service as part of a special on Angie's List, which was a really good deal. I ended up needing another couple pounds of coolant for my system and I paid for that at the normal rate. Steve did recommend to me that I should replace the capacitors on my A/C systems. The prices they offered for replacing these are more than reasonable. They are actually really good prices compared to most of the companies in the area. That being said, they are about 5x-10x the cost of the capacitors and it takes about 15-30m of work for any reasonably handy person to replace them. Everyone's tolerance for DIY is different though. I don't feel confident changing the coolant but I'm happy to change capacitors all day long. Overall, it was good service though and I'd use these guys again if I needed to.

initial visit was not good. had to change technician since the first one was not respectful of the tenant's belongings. office was responsive in replacing the technician and work was done well in both apppointment.

To echo other reviewers comments, this was by far the most thorough and comprehensive HVAC service I have ever had performed. The technician ( Stephen R) went above and beyond in every way and explained anything I had questions about. The technology in use and customized PDF's with the data was incredible. Stephen was very upfront and made sure I was satisfied with every aspect of the service. He provided me with details on potential items that would need replacement and did not push unnecessary service. I will definitely be calling Cape fear in the future for all of my HVAC needs. Do not hesitate to do business with them as this is a model of what the HVAC service industry should look like. Thanks again to Stephen and the team at Cape Fear AC&heating company !

It went okay. They did not replace the coil. I had them put a couple of pounds of R23 in the system and then I will have my son put a new one in for me.

Spent over two hours. Had minimal suggestions for items to be replaced on the system. I think I'll do those the next time I have his company do a check up. Other companies have wanted me to spend many hundreds to "fix" my system.

This was probably the most impressive and thorough inspection we have ever been furnished by a technician in the field of heating and air conditioning. Stephen Rardon, the technician, was outstanding in many ways but particularly in being very proficient in furnishing the technical information in a comprehensive way to us as consumers. We have always been very aware of benefit of preventive maintenance as well as recognizing the value of good marketing by an honest and professional technician and this company certainly lived up to its reviews. You can be assured that we will continue to use Cape Fear for future needs. We are more than appreciative of the value of using Angie's List too.

In the recent past I had experienced a situation with another service provider not to be named. When my wife informed me that she had recently purchased a tune up for the HVAC , my first thought was oh no. To my surprise , Stephen with Cape Fear was great to work with. I never felt pressure to purchase anything extra but because he took the time to develop my trust I did get a part replaced that had the potential to cause a untimely mid summer break down. His work was extremely thorough and very professional.

Technician, Stephen Rardon, was very thorough and made a change on the drain and then on the electrical wires on the outside unit. Cleaned and inspected the unit. I am very satisfied with the service!

I called Tuesday afternoon, Tim came out Wednesday morning reviewed the work needed. I was going to be out of town the rest of the week so we scheduled the job for Monday. The installer showed up on time Monday morning and the job was completed that afternoon. The old unit was hauled away and everything cleaned up.

Steve the tech arrived well within his time window and got to work on the job quickly. He did what appeared to be a thorough job of inspection and diagnostics, going beyond the very obvious and working methodically. One unit was low on r22 and it took 3lb (and $120) in gas to get the system working optimally. If I was to pick a negative, it would be this. I purchased 2 x Angies list deals - one for each unit. Each 'deal' came with 1lb of refrigerant. Thus you could reasonably argue that I'd pre-purchased 2lb. One unit required nothing and one unit took 3lb. I was charged for 2lb - essentially $60 more than was required. I didn't argue the point at the time but was left feeling less than entirely happy with that aspect of the billing. All in all, Steve did a good job and the system cools again. I have no issue with the service, but I'm mildly unhappy at the extra billing.

The service with their tech Eddie went very smoothly. He walked me through the necessary repair and was not pushy at all. I got quotes from other providers and they were the best price by far.

Good communication, early availability of appointment, on time arrival ( service provided by David Larsen ) 1. performed maintenance service and provided detailed explanation. 2. AC was not performing up to its capacity due to loss of refrigerant 3. David had right kind of tools to do the job, ( sensors, digital gauges to check the health of system) 4. Recharged the AC and got the system working again. 5. Provided Reports for AC for my records in future. Highly recommended and I will use their service again.
