I was talking to a friend explaining to her that our rental property heated by propane gas and how much it was going to cost the tenants to get gas. There were THREE 100 gallon tanks and gas cost approx. $3.87 a gallon which equates to about $1,200 (round up) to fill up all three tanks. Each year we had to pay for an inspection and to have the pilot light reset-becomes costly. She then told me that she too had propane gas until they got it switched over to electric. She informed that Cape Fear A/H did an excellent job on the installation and she have no regrets! She said it cost her but it was very well worth it! I shared with her that was the same company that installed complete duct work under our property and how pleased we were with their services. However, I never thought to ask about the heating system. I called the company Monday morning and Monday afternoon Shane Lucas, the Project Manager was on the property doing an assessment. The entire time, I was praying it could be done. He provided us with a reasonable quote and different systems to choose from. He was very thorough, knowledgeable and not to mention customer service friendly. He explained the benefit of each unit and answered any and all questions about the major decision we were about to make. He had the estimate to us within 2 hours. My husband, who is not quick to make a decision, asked when and how fast could it be done? The work was completed Friday afternoon. They were prompt and kept me informed every step of the way. Robert Deese, Shane, Billy (installer), the entire CF A/H Staff (ladies in front office), including the previous technician who completed the duct work are awesome! The young lady that lives in the property called us that evening and said she loved us and was very very grateful for getting regular heat because she did not have money to get gas. The benefit (both short and long term) far outweigh the cost. Great employees can make a difference in a companies success or failure. This means that the employer is doing something right! In a society whereas you hear so much negativity about companies and their practices, CF A/H is one company that have complete loyalty to their customers. As Veterans, we believe that customer service overrides the price of an item. We can truly say this company is trustworthy and stick behind their work! You do not have to stand over them to make sure the job get done. They believe in follow-up and communicating with their customers! To the CF A/H you have maintained our business. We would highly recommend them to our family and friends.

I suspected delayed ignition issue with my gas furnace as I had experienced two explosions under the house that shook the house. They were large enough to scare the heck out of me and my wife. Cape Fear answered my call, checked furnace, found problem with the pilot and repaired it. I've had no problems since which I hope will continue!

Per my previous reviews, I am always pleased with cape fear ac & heating company. Their lead technician Stephen was back again this year and the service was flawless as always. Extremely efficient and uses the latest technology to provide you a customized report and explains all aspects to you. Whenever you get the chance to use them or have the need for service, I highly recommend this company.

From sales to installation, everything went extremely well. The quote was competitive and every detail explained. Calls were returned quickly and follow up questions were answered completely. Best of all, the lead technician had authority to make decisions on site, which was great since he was focused on quality.

Repair man was at my home the next morning after calling the day before. Found the problem and fixed it in a very short time. Very responsive and reasonable.

It turned out okay. I liked the fact that they could come out sooner rather than later.

It went very well. An external breaker was melted and had to be replaced. This was an additional cost, but was obviously destroyed. I would have not noticed had the serviceman come to perform the service. The repairman was very polite and professional. I would use again.

Cape Fear did an outstanding job for us. We are very happy with our new HVAC system.

It was excellent. I have no complaints. They showed up when they were suppose to. They've never not showed up and always call, excellent.

The Angie's List big deal lists the total cost at 349.00 including parts and labor. However, after coming out and giving me a quote the total was 649.00. I feel he marks up the materials very high as other reviewers have noted. They were polite and professional, however I feel what is published on the website as a "special" was not the actual true cost.

My past experiences have went well, and I have been pleased with them. The technician that has come out in the past was Rusty and he is very trustworthy and has always been nice. I have been using the company for about 20 years.

Tim, manager, was clear and concise with what is needed, types of systems are going to be used, financing options etc. I had a lot of questions and all were answered to my satisfaction. I was not rushed into making any snap decisions. Came on the time that was scheduled, did work according to estimate, when done put sealing around all vents, cleaned up all old heating and air equipment and carted it away. Steve and his associates were very professional and courteous. Explained what was going on so I was never left in the dark. The entire crew was punctual and when they had to come back one more day to finish, they were on time. They made sure that everything was working properly before they left. I would definitely would recommend this company for those who need new heating or air conditioning for their home.

I woke up to a sweltering house that morning and immediately started looking for a reputable a/c company. In luck, I found a couple of coupons on AL for a company in town. I bought the coupons and then called the CF A/C and Heating to see if I could get someone out today. They were awesome!!! Randy showed up in less than an hour!!! Amazing!!! He quickly got to work and I was able to use both my coupons that day. I really appreciated it. Thank you for the quick response. However, there was a $43.00 charge to cool down my compressor, which entailed using my water hose to pour water over the compressor. I don't know if this a normal thing to charge for, but to me seems pretty ridiculous. I was explained that this was a time saving charge because we would have had to wait an hour or more for the compressor to cool down. Not Randy's fault but a charge like that should be illegal. I did call the office and talked to the manager who removed the charge and allowed me to change the check amount. I really appreciated how responsive they were to me and and helping to correct the problem.

In need of an HVAC replacement?mine was old and needed to retire?so I jumped on Angieslist and search for estimates. The first estimate I received seemed rushed, and the salesman?a little apathetic. Compounded by the price point, I was taken aback. In comes Tim, my second estimator from Cape Fear. Night and Day difference. This gentleman not only surveyed my house, asked my all the right questions, took multiple pictures, came out late for the estimate, but also crawled under my house to view the duct work. He educated me in what points we needed to fix and was very prompt in sending me an estimate. He did such a great job (with price and presentation) that I canceled the other two estimates and went with Cape Fear. David and his team showed up the next week to install the unit. And these guys did an amazing job! They made the hvac unti look sexy. I know you're thinking?how can an hvac unit look "sexy"? Well, Get David and posse to come out and prove their skills. The house heats with a quickness and stays warm. A warm wife = a happy husband. I will use Cape Fear henceforth. Great Job!

Good service is rare nowadays but great service is about extinct...... not so with this company. Cape Fear A/C & Heating provides exceptional service. We called Monday morning with no heat, requested a specific time frame for service and they accommodated. Stephen was very punctual and took no time at all with a diagnosis, showing us exactly what was wrong (burned out capacitor) under warranty. Stephen removed the faulty one, replaced it with a new one and Cape Fear is taking care of the warranty. We'd like to thank Stephen and Cape Fear for such superior service. We actually signed up for the yearly maintenance plan in November and it is worth every penny. Highly recommend this company for all your air conditioning & heating needs.

I ordered a 20 point tune up of my upstairs HVAC for my house for $70 because the house was getting very hot even with the HVAC off. The Technician conducted a diagnostic and determined the problem to be a failing heat sequencer that was getting stuck on the heat strip. He informed me that he separated the sequencer from the heat strip but informed me that it would probably get stuck again. He recommended that I have a new sequencer. He has one and would install it for $160. I was skeptical of the price for a small part but didn't have knowledge of the average price for a sequencer. I told him that I was ok with him doing the installation. After the technician left, I looked up the sequencer to find out the price range (via HVAC outlet part stores). The average retail price for sequencers was $9 - $35. I decided to call Cape Fear Air Conditioning and cooling to address the matter and an explanation on why I was aprox four times as much as any retail HVAC outlet store. I was told that there was a set price by the company for each part but no explanation other than that. I understand margins and profit margins with any company providing service and would have still happily paid $60-75 for a sequencer with the mark up price but I believe $160 is ridiculous. Although I believe the technician did a good job and was professional, I strongly disagree with the explanation I was given that did not justify the extraordinary high price I had to pay for the part. I respectfully submit this review as a warning to other consumers that if you need a part replacement from this company, you may want to look up the retail price of the part and buy it yourself even if you decide to have a technician install it. I will not be using this company again. To the technician that came to my house, I do want to thank you for your service, you did a good job.

Randy was very professional, courteous, and prompt in his visit to my house. He thoroughly checked the heating system, and even applied an air freshener due to the previous owners being smokers and that smell permeating the system. This is the second time I've use Cape Fear, and will use them again!

The furnace is 30 years old and hard to work on or get parts for, the Technician Mitchell knew exactly what to look for and what to do. He did get the furnace repaired and working with the old switch He explained what was wrong and gave us some suggestions about the furnace meanwhile he went back to the office to research the furnace and part if we ever need to replace it. He was very kind to take time to look for the part and call back. The price was good I will definitely use them again.
