Description of Work: Bill cleaned out all the air ducts in my house. He did a great job, quick and complete.

I hired Air Experts because I'd had them in last year and been so impressed with them (both a/c and heating). | |The serviceman charged my a/c unit and explained some concerns. He was polite, neat and efficient. I will continue to use Air Experts, as both of the technicians who have come to my house have been pleasant and seem to be knowledgeable.

Description of Work: We had a price from another company for a evaporator coil for $1250.00. |With this amount of cost I wanted a second opinion. Called Air Experts. They showed up earlier then appointment, didn't call I had to leave him with my elderly Mother and teenage daughter. There quoted price for same repair $1950.00 |I highly recommend Mordern Mechanical. They have worked in 4 homes now on our street. 919-934-1651. We had a gentlemen by the name of Anthony "the best".

Description of Work: After my experience with Air Experts, I am really disappointed that they tried to take advantage of me and warn everyone else to question the value of the services rendered and parts received. This started with an intermittent squealing sound from the outdoor AC unit on startup. Air Experts was able to send someone out within a day (my only positive experience with them!). The technician replaced the dual capacitor and charged us $139 (red flag #1) in addition to the $39 service call. Seemed a little excessive, but I did not think too much of it at the time as we started the AC back up and cooled down the house. Two days later, I heard the same squealing noise and contacted Air Experts, who sent the technician back out within a couple of hours. This time he said it was probably a bad motor, which would cost us $400 - $500 to replace (red flag #2). Then he proceeded to say that the unit was a 2002 unit (red flag #3) and we might be better off replacing the unit for $4000 rather than replace the fan motor!!! He proceeded to refer us to the sales team to determine payment options. That's when I decided to do a little research online. Squealing noise is caused by fan not working properly and needs a fan and/or capacitor replaced. Capacitor costs $15 and a fan motor costs $70-$100. I consider myself technically savvy and proceeded to replace the fan motor myself. I ordered a new motor with 2-day shipping. It took me 15 minutes and a dozen screws to swap out the motor for a new one. After completing this myself, I can confirm that this is a relatively simple job for even someone who isn't technically savvy, so I have no clue why a company would charge me over $400 to perform the same job. And by the way, my house was built in 2007, so there is no way I would have a 2002 unit installed. When I researched the serial number pattern online I confirmed that my unit was manufactured in July 2007 not 2002 as the technician tried to convince us. I am amazed that this company has such high ratings, maybe its due to the fact that people have gotten used to paying through the nose to maintain HVAC units. How can a company justify a markup of 900% on a capacitor and 500% on a fan motor! Can't be the cost of labor, as it took me 15 minutes to perform the same job and I actually took my time doing it. I could start a new business charging half of what this company charges and still make an ethical living.
