The technician tried two approaches to convince me that an older HVAC unit should be replaced. First, he recommended that the unit be replaced after a five minute inspection. When asked why, he replied age. I asked if the unit was working properly and he replied he saw nothing wrong but the unit might fail in the future given it's age. He then proceeded to claim that although he could see no cracks in the heat exchanger with a camera, they could still be there. Then he proceeded to the CO scare saying leakage in the heat exchanger could be dangerous...although he could not explain how low pressure flue air could flow into a higher pressure house supply....he then proceeded to test the AC on a 40 degree day and claim the temperature differential was out do spec. No kidding...although no one I can talk to says this is a legit in winter on the air conditioner. They will never be allowed on my property again.

I have an annual contract with them for $270. I've been with them since 2009. They always come when they say they are going to come, and they have been very good in taking care of my heating and air conditioning system. They are fairly expensive, but quality has been good.

They are a pretty good size company. Overall, I’ve had good experience with them. They are prompt and do quality work. I’ve been using their service for years. They were the company who originally put in the equipment for the builder front home so I’ve kind of stuck with for all the years. My only issues with them and all has been I think some of the services they provide, they offer discounts to the people who have maintenance contract and I think the pricing is still a little high. Additionally, I think they’ve been slow to adopt some of the new technologies and be prepared to address new technologies. What I like about them is that they’ve always done decent work and they’ve always showed up on time. Their service has always been available and ready to talk to you and resolving issues that you might be having. My one big negative is that in recent years, we’ve installed some new nest thermostats and we were having a problem and they seemed to ill-equipped to handle the service around the nest thermostat even though I had a contract with them and I ended up paying them for the service call which accomplished nothing and resolved the problem directly next to myself. For this service call, they should have been able to do that but they seem to be ill-prepared even though it’s becoming very common product at people’s home. They should have been prepared to address my concerns with it regardless of whether they install it or not. I think their annual maintenance agreement has been a little pricy over the years.

I use them once a year and I'm happy with them. They're the once who installed my unit as the house was being built so they're familiar with it. They're punctual and they keep their appointment. I have confidence in them and they kept doing a thorough job.

Our technician Brian was prompt, efficient and professional. We are quite pleased with his thoroughness while balancing the vents in our home. He double checked his work, spent time explaining everything to my husband and even went back into the attic to show him how he could adjust the vents himself if he needed to. Overall it was a great experience.

I'd been having an issue with our downstairs heat unit all week. Initially I had another company come out for the repair, twice that same week. They had replaced a motor and on the second visit, just couldn't figure out the problem. Frustrated, I logged into Angie's List and found MTB after reading reviews. I was drawn to the fact they were a family owned company and didn't charge excessive prices. I called before closing on Saturday and had a Sunday morning appointment. My technician, Blaine, called when he was on his way. He was prompt, professional and very friendly. He listened to my description of the problem and right away, had the solution narrowed down. It was just my daughter and myself that morning and he was very patient and thorough - he worked with us outside at the unit, explaining everything along the way during his diagnostic. The solution was such a simple fix and I couldn't have been happier. He also gave me recommendations for care outside and around the unit. I used an Angie's List coupon and was thrilled with the overall cost and the fact there was no extra fee for a weekend service. MTB is for sure my go to for any future issues.

Outstanding service! I called at 2:16PM on a Saturday afternoon and the repairman was at my house at 3:30. I had been trying to get my previous HVAC repairman since 8:30AM, but he never responded. The repairman had it figured out in about 15 min and I had heat by 4:30. He told me all my options and didn't try and get me to buy a new furnace. The technician showed up earlier than scheduled. He called ahead to make sure it was okay. Unfortunately my husband was the only one home and he works 3rd shift but I was still impressed with the quick response as we had made the appointment the day before. Once the technician showed up he got right to work. He broke down the furnace and diagnosed it as far as he could. He said the heat exchange was bad and showed my husband exactly what was wrong. He also said there may be other issues with the unit but he would not be able to tell without the heat exchange in working order. He gave us the quote for repair and warned us it would be rather expensive. He also set up an appointment for the same day for a "Comfort Consultant" (love the title!) to come out and quote a new unit for us. The consultant came out and was just great! Even my dogs liked him! I asked him also to quote a price to switch from gas to heat pump. He took the time to check the unit and look at the electrical box to ensure we could go to a heat pump if we should choose to without having to purchase a new one. We sat at my kitchen table and he provided a quote. It was much more than I expected but he did explain, in great detail and using terms even I could understand, everything that comes with the new unit installation. My father-in-law is in the industry down in Florida so of course we called him to get his opinion on the service and the price. We told him everything we were told by the consultant. My father-in-law assured us it is a great deal and the warranty is one of the best in the business. We are securing financing to have the system replaced and plan on having MTB come out and replace our 20 year old unit!

Our technician, Jereimiah, arrived punctually and fixed the problem quickly. He went out of his was to explain some other concerns we had, as well as offered some good advice on products we were interested in installing in the future. I was very happy with the technician and the company!

This is the second or third time I've had MTB mechanical to my home and every time has been EXCELLENT, just like today. They're extremely flexible and accommodating with scheduling. The technicians are all so polite and respectful of the customer's home, the customer's time and any concerns a customer has is addressed respectfully and professionally on the spot. I have recommended MTB Mechanical multiple times in the past, and I will continue to do so. They're the best.

Their price was good. They were prompt, they did what they needed to do, and our A/C works fine now. I'm happy.

Company unable to provide price quote without doing a service call that they charge for.

We've had very good success with MTB Mechanical Inc. We've had a maintenance contract with them for about three years. Our air conditioner stopped working about 8:00 at night. I called their answering service and then someone called me back at 8:00 in the morning and we had a technician come out about 1:00. It was a bad capacitor and he replaced it and we were cooled off again. They provide good and competent service. I don't think their prices are fair. I wouldn't say it's a super bargain, but it's fair. Their technicians are very prompt and very courteous and seem to be quite knowledgeable. We recently renewed the service contract with them.

They're very good, they've always been very punctual, I never had any issues with them, the recommendations that they gave on the maintenance and the service in the unit have been pretty decent, overall I'm pretty satisfied with them. I know that there are a lot of cheaper companies out there. They're pretty quick, they answer and pick up the phone when I call them.

They were on time, fairly prices, and I was pleased with their work.

They came on the weekend and didn't charge more. They were on time and professional. They fixed the AC without trying to sell me a new unit (what a concept). I even signed up for their maintenance plan because they were so professional.

Service was prompt and professional. Cost was reasonable (and materially less expensive than a widely-advertised local firm's estimate). Initially ordered a wrong-sized coil -- which I never would have known since the system worked anyway -- and they took the initiative to return to replace it right away. They earned my trust and my future business.

We called MTB about obtaining an estimate to replace the AC units in our home. They promptly scheduled a time that worked for us and the estimator arrived right on time. He was very knowledgable and helped provide a solution that met our needs based on what he understood were our intentions for length of time we'd stay in the house, etc. The installers arrived right on time and went right to work... they were professional and did a great job.
