The sales person who came from Weather Master Heating & Air was knowledgeable compared to others who came and he offered the same unit as offered by another company but, with an extra filter & lower price. He offered with warranty too. A couple of men who came to install were great. They were careful and everything was clean. All went very well. They had a wrong form for our tax rebate and they did not have the right paperwork. The sales person who gave me the price was right on the spot giving us the right stuff and made everything work perfectly.

Overall experience was not impressive. They actually sent 2 different reps to do the service (1 for checkup/1 for quote). As always, they found something wrong with my heat pump. They seem to have gift for finding these things. In all honesty, my system was dated and was not performing up to standards. I had just spent $700 replacing some parts the winter before with Weather Master. Those repairs evidently did not bring the system up to working order. I was quoted another $700 to get the system running adequately, but was told it may take another $2500 if a certain part was also affected. I decided to get another opinion. I paid the maintenace fee and sent the worker away. The estimate on a new system was even less impressive. The sales rep gave me a sheet of paper with 3 different prices with 3 different SEER ratings. ($7800-$8800) The estimate also included an additional $2000 to replace the ductwork under the house. When I approached him about unit model numbers so I could research the products, he was very concerned and seemed to not want to tell me. After doing my research, they were WELL ABOVE the average rates. I had the system replaced by another company, including ductwork for $6600 compared to the $9800 quote from Weather Master.

Mr. B came out on the the fourth day of the Month and told me that I needed a zoneboard. I asked him how much it would cost to get one he said it would cost me around $500.00 , and that they would have to order it and schedule a comeback. He said that he would be able to provide heat to the house despite of the zone board not working by doing some rewiring. So he did the work there was finally heat in my house, before he left I paid him ninety nine dollors for the work, I thought this was a great deal. He said I would be able to use my debit card so i paid him with it he said that I would have to pay by check because the debit machine was not working after he had put my information in a couple of times. the next day the heat went out again so I called Weather Master again and asked how much it would cost they said it would cost nothing since it was due to the previous job. So this time another guy Mr. C came by and rewired the system and found a fuse had blown due to the wiring so he replaced the fuse and had the heat up and running. before Mr. C left he said the trip wouuld cost me another $99.00. I checked my bank account and realized that Mr. B had debited $99.00 twice out of my account plus the check I had written. I talked to Mrs. A, who was a hire up manager. She was very kind and gave me back my 99.00 for the second trip, and sent my check back. I called recently becase periodically we are still smelling smoke and was hoping that they would try to resolve this issue but Mrs.B said that I did not pay for the trip and then hung up on me when I tried explaining to her what had happened. I would not reccomend this company to anyone.
Description of Work: My heat was not working so I called Weather Master to come annd repair it. They said I needed a zoneboard replaced, Mr. ----- bypassed the zoneboard and rewired the thermostat to heat house.

Terrible. Have had to get service on the unit several times. Weathermaster is difficult to get in touch with. Some of their phone numbers often do not work and their website service does not work. The last time, when I finally got in touch with them, they said I also had to purchase an annual maintenance plan from them to the tune of $160 per year to keep the warranty. They did not tell me this when they sold me the warranty and they did not send me any paperwork on it. I will never use them again.
Description of Work: I have several rental properties and had been using Weather Master some over the past ten years. The last service was to replace a heat pump at a duplex. With it, I bought a 10 year parts and service warranty.

My split system unit has always been seated in a closet except for the outdoor fan. Troy came over to look at my configuration and said that it was quite unique but found a Lennox unit that would work with my set up. November 11, 2010. two men were sent to my home to install the new split heat and air conditioning system. They arrived early and left late after a long day of work. The units worked when they left but I had some immediate concerns as the unit sounded quite loud. I thought I would get used to the noise as my old unit had some noise too but once it started to wake me up nightly, I had to call to let Troy know that the noise level was unacceptable. He had known that I had originally said that both energy efficiency and a quiet unit were vital for my replacement units. And this new unit I had purchased had an 80% energy efficiency with variable speed. Troy promptly asked his supervisor Jim to come out to the house with him to listen to my new unit. They came over together as promised and asked me to turn on the unit which I did. Jim immediately said that the noise level was indeed unacceptable. I told them that the blower was so loud that it had actually unrolled an entire roll of toilet paper in the bathroom overnight. We all laughed about that. I then asked if the unit could be moved under the house and if so, what cost that would add. The two men then went to look under my crawlspace to see if it could accomodate this unit. They came back in and said yes, a unit could go under the house but that this unit would not fit. I asked what options were left. Jim said that a horizontal unit would fit but that a new grill would be needed to be cut indoors and that the old venting would need to be blocked off. I again asked what it would cost me to make these extensive changes. Jim said NOTHING EXTRA beyond what I had already paid since this would be a huge inconvenience for me to again have another day dedicated to both removing the old/new unit and installing the completely new setup under the house and the grill work and vent closings in the house. Jim added that they also would like to UPGRADE the unit to a Lennox 95% efficiency variable speed unit for NO ADDED COST. And then BOTH Jim and Troy apologized to me for the inconvenience that the first unit was causing me. I was floored to say the least about the integrity of WeatherMaster to so guarantee their work and to include an upgrade and verbal apology as well. As promised, Mary promptly called me to reschedule this redo and the work began a week later. On that second installation on November 18, 2010, they sent 4 men to the house to handle all of the work. They all arrived early and stayed late to get everything done. To say the least, I was most impressed how WeatherMaster made a bad situation wonderful for me as the customer. Since that time, I have told many others about this excellent experience. So far, a friend's daughter and her husband have purchased a new HVAC system from them based on my recommendation. I spoke to them recently and they too, had a wonderful experience with WeatherMaster. This company walks the talk about providing complete customer service and are such a rarity in this busy world. I will always use their services and continue to recommend them to others. I am very grateful to WeatherMaster and love my new HVAC system!

It was an excellent experience from start to finish. The initial estimate was computed and provided on site. There was no hard-sell. They just presented the facts and let me decide. Once I agreed for them to do the work, I was able to schedule them within two days of calling. Two crews replaced the systems in parallel, and within six hours, everything was up and running.

Excellent job and they cleaned everything up prior to leaving my home.
Description of Work: I replaced two gas furnaces and two air conditioners. My furnaces were almost 20 years old and the a/c units were 28 years old. I was expecting the worst when the upstairs HVAC unit (about 10 years old) was not blowing out cool air. I called Weather Master because of favorable reports on Angie's List, and they came out promptly (I believe it was the next morning). The service man (I think his name was Hurley) quickly diagnosed the problem as a bad capacitor, retrieved a capacitor from his truck, and installed it, solving my problem in less than an hour. The price was $99 for the diagnosis and service, and $117 for the capacitor, for a total of $216. I was relieved and very much pleased with the experience.

Weathermaster sent us a solicitation in the mail which got us thinking about replacing our aging HVAC system. They were the first of 6 companies to provide us with estimates, and by the end of the process we felt quite well informed. We wanted to add ductwork to supply a converted garage with some heat and air conditioning, and about half of the contractors did not want to add the ductwork, saying we wouldn't be happy with it and should install a separate system. We were able to convey to the Weathermaster salesman that we understood very well that the garage wouldn't receive optimal heating and cooling with the addition of the new ductwork, but that it would be better than it was now. He understood and had no problem with adding two registers and a return, and I felt the price was reasonable. The system was installed two days ago and seems to be working just as it should. Our old unit was 20+ years old, and we upgraded to a larger heat pump (the previous one was undersized) with a dual-stage compressor, so it's not surprising that we'd notice better airflow. I'm also very happy knowing that I've got air circulating in and out of the converted garage. This was a dealbreaker for us, and it was nice not to have to argue about it. The salesman was very responsive to all our questions. I was pleased with his end of the job. In the end, I was happy with the installation and the work crew, although it would have been a problem if my husband hadn't been at home to watch them install the new pad. The guy who was putting down the new pad tried to level it by building up the slope with shredded mulch from the tree service. As a result, I can't say the quality of the install was "excellent". Instead of the mulch, we gave them some bricks they could use to level the pad. They filled in the space with dirt that they dug out of the side yard. After the mulch incident, I called the salesperson and he sent an installation supervisor out to make sure the rest of the install would meet my expectations. From what I can tell, the installation was done well. The crew was friendly and professional. Things in the crawlspace look good. The crew took the old concrete pad with them at our request and cleaned up after themselves. I'm very satisfied with the job.

I was initially pleased with Weather Master's quick response for making the appointment. I was told that I would need to be home when the service was completed, so I had to take a couple of hours off from work to be at home. My appointment was scheduled for 3:30 pm, but the technician got held up and didn't arrive at my home until 7:30 pm (he was held up from other jobs). I was disappointed that I lost work time, but the technician was friendly and very professional. He did a great job with cleaning the A/C unit and fixing a drainage problem under our home.
Description of Work: The technician came to do a maintenance check of our air conditioning system. He completely cleaned the unit and even fixed a minor problem under our house (water drainage for the unit) that we didn't know we had. The technician will return in the fall to do another maintenance check of our heating unit.

I rated the initial sales and installation as an A. Sales consultant Ed was extremely knowledgeable and responsive to all of our requests. He suggested solutions to problems such as moving the thermostat and re-routing an existing duct to provide better airflow to a problem room. Weathermaster included this additional work in their estimate for the system unlike others who wanted to charge extra. The price was extremely fair compared to the other 3 estimates we received. We were able to schedule installation within less than a week. The work was completed well in advance of their estimated completion time. The installers were professional, considerate, and cleaned up after themselves. We would highly recommend WeatherMasters. Update May 2013: The service technician, Chico, came out to my house to perform routine maintenance and was rude and condescending each time. He was always trying to scare me about mold, etc and trying to sell me a UV light. Since his sales pitch started only a few months after multiple companies inspected the system to provide estimates for a new system and no one else mentioned mold, I did not trust him. At subsequent visits he rudely commented on my failure to get the UV light systems. Finally, I refused to have him in my home again and went with a different company that is highly rated for excellent service on Angie's List. Imagine my surprise when the technician mentioned that the coils in the system that was installed in 2010 look like they have never been cleaned. What exactly was Weathermaster doing for the last 2 years when they did the AC maintenance? Not surprisingly, the other company did not report any issues with mold.
Description of Work: Replaced upstairs A/C unit in 2010. Performed annual maintenance on the AC and heating system 2011-2012 for 2 units (1 they installed and an older unit).

Gas pack stopped working Thursday evening. I called another company on Friday afternoon to repair the unit. They said it needed a Heat Exchanger or replacement and gave me a price of $1885 and replacement estimate of $5000. Based on the age of the unit I decided to replace the unit. I called Weather Master and they came over later that afternoon to give me a price on replacing the unit ($4220) and heat exchanger (approx $1600). I decided to replace the unit. The installation people came on a Saturday morning to replace the unit. They spoke Spanish but they understood English very well. The installation went better than any installation service we have ever used. The only concern I have was - We asked the salesperson to calculate our return duct size to see if it needed enlarging for optimum performance. He never got back to us.
Description of Work: Repair estimate for heat exchanger and replacement estimate by salesperson on Friday Feb 12. The salesperson came late Friday afternoon (approx 4 pm) to give us the estimate. A new gaspack (gas heat/electric AC) unit was installed the next morning on Saturday Feb 13.

The salesperson, Ed, kept his word and price even after several unforeseen things cost the company much more. The installers did a fantastic job. They laid down plastic and had shoe covers to keep the house from getting muddy on a rainy day. They did high quality work! When things needed extra labor (and materials!) to make them right, the installers made sure they were done properly. The company handled all the paperwork to get my warrantee registered with the manufacture, my rebate from the power company, and provided certification for my federal tax rebate. Both the salesperson and team of installers were very professional. We were very pleased with the entire job.

We call them as and when needed. We spent about $75, the last time they came out. They did a fall diagnostic check-up. They made sure that the heating units functioned properly. They also emptied a tray with extra water in it. They explained what it was. We have used them before. We are still using them because they do their job very well. They are careful when they come to our house. We think they wear their booties. They show up on time and are always very courteous. We’ve had good experience with them. They usually come twice a year for servicing my heating and air conditioning unit. Their next visit will be in the fall. They have been satisfactory till now. They are courteous and prompt. Their work seems fine to me, but I wouldn’t be able to comment as I don’t have any expertise in the area. I don’t have any complains about them. I haven’t compared their prices with anybody else. The quality of their service has been reasonably well. There were a few mistakes over the years, but they have corrected anything that was wrong. The customer service department of Weather Master Heating & Air was good. They were able to provide me a ball-park time by when they could send their person over. They did the best that they could. The guy from Weather Master Heating & Air was really nice and professional. We were the last callers on their list. The guy from there could not reach our house before 7.30 pm. The guy was very thorough. It was blazing hot in the summer. It was almost 100 degrees that day. He got out his flash light, looked at our air vents and he was really thorough, especially considering how late it was. He went through every little aspect and he explained everything to us. He even went up the attic in order to double-check for any problems, if any. He was very knowledgeable. He left our house only by 9.30 pm that night. He left us paper work and even gave us tips on air conditioning. We called Weather Master Heating & Air to tell them how nice and professional he was.
