Great customer service. They came out two years later to replace a board that warped at no cost. I would highly recommend and would use again!

Doug spent a long time helping us to decide exactly what we wanted. I had gotten 3 other quotes and decided to use them because of their reviews on AngiesList, great suggestions, and reasonable price. Construction went precisely on schedule, nearly 4 weeks exactly. Everyone was always very pleasant to us and they cleaned up every night before leaving. It was very easy to get in touch with Doug via email or phone. He always returned emails or calls very quickly. The porch is absolutely beautiful and it turned out even better than we had hoped. We LOVE our new screened porch! We would definitely use Exterior Additions again. Also, I'm very glad that we chose the tile floor, because it just looks so beautiful!

Worked closely with us on the design; Doug listened to our ideas and made suggestions to improve and make our new area the best it could be. We had a small back yard with a slope that made the design a bit more complicated. He and his crew were always courteous, they arrived on time and quit on time and the work was completed within the time frame he gave us. He also honored his quote for the job and he charged us exactly what he said he would. Only one thing was neglected that we wanted: the dirt/clay under the deck was not smoothed out, and we did want that done. Their work proceeded before that area could be leveled and dressed. It should have been done before the porch and deck flooring were laid. They did try to do it after the job was finished, but it was too difficult to do and we have not been able to do it ourselves. We had designed that space for storage, but the ground is too full of clods to be of much use.

It was a pleasure doing business with Doug, Mike, Jason, Carlos, Aubry and Ron. They all take pride in their work, and it shows in their professional and friendly attitude. Doug quickly responded to our request for a bid on our project . He listened to our ideas, made suggestions which improved the end result and detailed the estimate. They had to remove a window and seal the wall in order to support the balcony, and that finished area inside the house looks as though it has always been that way. We had a couple of hiccups which were minor and dealt with with good humor, patience and enthusiasm. I had many questions about the columns which matched the existing design, and they were answered with respect and reassurance. We wanted the patio under the balcony to remain as dry as possible, and when the drainage system directed the runoff to land on the patio, making quite a splash, Doug came out personally and designed a spout which supports my rain chain and directs the water into a planter I use as a rain barrel. A frog has taken up residence there. Bonus!

What a great experience! I can't say enough about how wonderful our experience was with Doug and Exterior Additions. Our new room and kitchen turned out even better than we expected. Doug was always knowledgeable, friendly and answered all our our many questions quickly and with a smile. Every subcontractor on the project was also equally impressive in terms of their professionalism and quality of work. Our project was right on budget and any issue that came up was fixed immediately to our satisfaction. Doug went above and beyond all of our expectations. Exterior Additions commitment to high quality workmanship and attention to detail is evident in the beautiful final product. I would highly recommend them to anyone!!

I never thought a large addition could go so smoothly. Doug and his crew were not just professional, but a pleasure to work with. The project went quickly, almost always ahead of schedule; which is great when you're so excited to get into your new space. Doug answered every question I had (and there were a lot) not only with a reasonable, professional answer, but also with a smile. He never failed to return a call or answer the phone. I'm sure situations came up that had to be dealt with, but I hardly remember them since Doug handled them so well, they seem trivial now. The overall project was exactly on budget, with absolutely no surprises; but I have all the confidence in the world that Doug would have work with us should there had been anything unforeseen come up. *Update: 3 years after our addition, we are still very happy. We recently contacted Doug regarding an electrical issue we had, he quickly responded and got us in contact with an electrician so we could get the problem fixed. Even though the problem was with a faulty fixture and not wiring with the new addition; he did his best to make us happy customers past, present and future.

After interviewing several reputable contractors, we hired Exterior Additions to construct a screened porch and open deck on our existing home. We chose this company because they provided a fair price for what we determined was going to be a better product than the competitors were going to give us. During every meeting and phone conversation, Doug and his team were wonderful to work with and were extremely professional throughout the process. Our final product is spectacular and I do not believe we would have received this level of quality or service from any of the other contractor we interviewed. Doug does not sub out his carpentry work like some of the other larger companies. He has a set crew of licensed carpenters that have been working for him for years to complete the construction and then subs out the electrical, painting, and roofing because that is not his specialty (again, because he puts quality first). Because of the loyalty that his guys have to Doug, they have the same excellent work ethic that Doug does and it shows on site. Unlike the larger companies, there is no middle man charging you for his commission. You start with Doug and end with Doug the whole way so there is no miscommunication. Notably, he was very responsive to our inquiries. During the design phase, he made two trips two our home and provided us with a number of suggestions and ideas to reach our goals and keep costs reasonable. During the construction phase, he responded to our comments and questions by phone and/or email the same day. Additionally, Doug firmly stuck to his schedule, but was flexible enough to allow gaps for us to complete some of the painting and trim work ourselves to save money (by the way, I would not recommend painting your own porch to future homeowners?.it was much more challenging and time consuming than we anticipated and I would consider us ?above average? on the Do-It-Yourself Homeowner scale). After we completed our painting, Exterior Additions came in and installed the screens/windows without delay and accommodated the schedule that we requested even though they were working on other jobs. Lastly, even though this company uses the best possible products for their construction, there was a minor swelling issue with some of the deck boards due to unanticipated rain immediately following the install. Doug immediately called the supplier and had them replace the materials at no extra cost to us to ensure that his project was of the highest quality. From beginning to end, his primary concern was that we were happy with the product so that his business would continue to flourish and have a great reputation. We can?t say enough good things about Doug, his company, or his work and would be happy to talk to others about him in detail. If something is wrong, he will make it right without question. We firmly believe that because we paid for quality at a reasonable price, we will make our money back and then some when we sell our home in the future (a great investment).

Doug Lynch and his associates at Exterior Additions did an outstanding job on my deck and screened porch. Doug came to our home in May to find out how we wanted to use the space and offered his suggestions on improving the space to get an almost year-round use. After securing the needed approvals and licenses, the work began the first week of September and was completed four weeks later. The work crew arrived between 7:30 and 8 am and worked until about 4pm on most days. They cleaned their work areas daily and removed large debris weekly. There was no loud music and minimal interruptions to our home. We are very satisfied with the product and service.

He was very professional and was the only contractor that listened and tried to do what we wanted him to do. It was a nice project and they built is really well.

Doug came out and talked to me, offered suggestions and input where requested, immediately came up with a sketch and quote. Wasn't the lowest but very clearly showed me that he knew what he was doing and would be worth every penny I would spend on him. Produced a beautiful deck, came in way, way more quickly than anticipated and had wonderful subs working under him who were respectful of our yard, our privacy etc... Was just top to bottom an excellent experience and I would use Exterior Additions again in a mini heartbeat! Just top notch professionals from beginning to end.

Doug and his crew are true professionals. They kept the project moving on schedule (such that mother nature would allow) and there were no "sudden" overages when it came to budget. Doug also worked with me in letting me do a little of the work myself in order to save some money. His sub-contractors (many Angies List members themselves) were all in keeping with Doug's standards. This was my first addition of any kind to a house and the whole experience was one I would do again without hesitation. The addition that Doug and his crew built for me has quickly become my favorite room. I have and will continue to recommend Exterior Additions.

We are about a week from completion and this has been one of the most enjoyable renovations or experiences I've had with a general contractor. While both Doug, my wife and I spent a considerable amount of time ensuring all bases and details had been covered, there were things we missed. When this occurred Doug was fair and flexible to ensure that we were completely happy with the outcome of the job. Doug answers the phone almost every time (and I called a bunch), and when he wasn't available he answered my voice mail within a 1/2 hour. His crews were pleasant, clean, polite and dedicated to making sure we would be happy with the quality of the job. The match to the home and the quality of work was perfect, in fact superior to the original contractor. The cost of completion was higher than the original estimate, but we added new heating and air, more windows, and a new steel crawlspace access door along the way. These additional items were initiated by us and not Doug, and he was more than fair in pricing these items and adding them to the job. They also cleaned up everyday and hauled off debris everyday, this was important as we have small children. Because we have small children Doug recognized their schedule was important and did his best to ensure what he could to minimize any upset to the day.

The job went very well, all the people were great to work with. Doug spent a considerable amount of time with us on the design that my wife and I had come up with and he showed us several ways to make it more appealing and functional. The crew started when he said they would and finished ahead of schedual, cleaning up every day after themselves. We built our house 3 years ago and only wish that the subs could have been as professional as Doug's guys.

This was a great experience. They did quality work and did everything they said they were going to do. Doug, the owner, is very easy to work with and makes himself available to you at all times. It was excellent. It was right on budget and it was done ahead of schedule. The quality of the work was very good. The owner was very responsive and accessible. They were very accommodating to our needs.

Great, no surprises or increases in cost. Doug and crew even did some little extras for us, no charge (like hauling away some scrap wood we had). When I called two different people from Doug's long reference list, both said they were so pleased they had used him again on a different project. I would do the same.

From the initial estimate to completion, Exterior Additions were very professional and stuck to the schedule. The two individuals who worked on the project did an extremely good job from the spacing of the boards, to the cuts, putting up flashing and designing the staircase. After the project was completed, they cleaned up the backyard and swept the driveway to make everything was just as it was before they arrived. I would recommend this company to anybody. We are very please with the workmanship and our new space.

Doug and his crew was a pleasure to work with. They not only had the best quote, they had the best attitude. They were very prompt, polite, very clean and very thorough. Doug made some recommendations throughout the job that made the project even better than we could have imagined. Doug was also very responsive whenever we contacted him. He would have his crew onsite within a matter of hours to work on anything that needed to be corrected or touched up. By far the best contractor that we have ever worked with. I would definitely hire these guys to do any other construction project I might have (I found out they also do some interior renovation work in addition to porches/decks/sunrooms).

Perfect! The crew showed up on time everyday and the project moved along quickly. There were no details overlooked and our questions were usually answered the same day. Any minor changes or preferences we wanted were done without question. Excellent job!

As usual Doug did not let us down. He came out promptly and offered to fix the screens himself at no additional charge! Another example of the outstanding character Doug exhibits as well as the pride he has in his craftsmanship. Doug had suggested from the start that we should put up lattice to prevent that from happening - we should have listened the first time! Other companies would leave it to the customer to fix, it was after all no fault of Doug's - our dogs ripped the screens! We highly recommend Doug and his crew to anyone out there looking for this kind of work. He is a contractor with integrity, outstanding work ethic, and quality craftsmanship. An overall pleasure to work with.

We were extremely pleased with the entire process from start to finish, and particularly with the design Doug did for us. He listened to our ideas and crafted a design that found the right balance between what we wanted and what we wanted to spend. There was no effort to sell us more than we wanted or needed. All the workmanship and materials are top quality. We were very impressed with the way the materials and the various trades were scheduled to appear at the proper time. There was no time lost waiting for the next team to show up, and they kept the work site clean.

Experience was excellent. Doug was very easy to work with, gave us some great ideas, and was very competitive on price. He's the owner, but as someone who used to build decks and porches, he really knows what he's doing. We visited 3 references (all within a 5 mile radius of our house) and saw his work and were very impressed. I have never see people so passionate about a contractor's work. We signed the contract in December. With a baby due in mid-February, Doug worked with us and was able to rearrange his schedule to start work in January. They finished up in early February (right on schedule). We were very impressed with the workmanship, and felt very comfortable with Doug's staff. Both my wife and I were working, and only needed to be home twice during the project for electrical work and the sliding door installation. The only mishap was on the first day when the lumber company damaged our basketball system (in the driveway). Doug personally went out and bought a new system, and had his staff install it. We love our new porch! If we decide to do future work, which is in the scope of capabilities of what Doug's crew can do, its a no brainer to call Doug.
