Description of Work: Air conditioner unit stopped working. It is old, but others have said it was a good unit. The Williams repair technician was gruff, hemmed and hawed about how repairs might not last a week, charged me $600 for a repair that did not work, then charged $700 to make more repairs two days later. All the while, I was pressured to buy at least one new unit. (Our house uses two.) | |Two other HVAC companies contacted in May, 2015 gave the opinion that the cooling unit was fine, but parts would occasionally need to be replaced. Their estimates on parts and service were much less than those from Williams. I have used one of the other businesses before, but when I needed them last year, they could not come out at that time. I guess that when you give good service, you stay busy.

Description of Work: I am very happy with the service from this company. I have been using them for many years and I have only had one negative experience with the after hours guy, he didn't seem to happy to be called after hours. He wasn't rude, just not happy. Other than that I have only good things to say. They are pricey, but the service is excellent, the advice is trustworthy, and I suppose you sometimes get what you pay for. I feel that I get what I pay for with these folks. The most important thing is that I trust them. I have the maintenance plan, so I see them twice a year. They fix my plumbing and my heating and air conditioning.

Description of Work: Called Williams' Plumbing the week of June 13 to get rid of back-up/clog in sink before planned vacation. Was told the whole house needed to be re-plumbed. Was given estimate of $6800 for 1450 sq. ft house with 2 baths, one kitchen. Advised them that our system was combination of city water and well water. "No problem." No time for second estimate...checked Angie's List, which had a very good rating for this company. Returned home from vacation 6/24. Hot water incorrectly hooked up (no hot water) and well pump was disabled. After a call, hot water was re-established. But They were unable to re-start my well pump. This was not only a crisis, but a major one because we have a fish pond that depends on well water. The city was intrducing chloramine to the water 7/25. City warned against using water after this date because it would kill fish and amphibians. Panic call to Williams' resulted in their agreement to get a well company to find underground well so that pump could be re-primed. Simmons' well company did not find the well, suggesting a home filtering system for $2500. Williams' suggested I find another well company to find my underground well. I paid $165 to Stanley's well company to find well, and they showed us the vicinity of the well. Spoke to Hogan's well company and was promised that the well would be located and in operation by 7/27. By this time my pond was losing water because of excessive heat and drought, and I had no alternative except city water, which would kill my fish. Proposed to Williams' that he should be at least half responsible for repairing the well, since, but for their actions, I would not have to pay an extra $1500 to get back my well. Williams' offered $300. SO on the Tuesday after the city put the toxic chemical in the water, I went to the BBB to register a complaint. HER resolution was even worse: to get Simmon's back out to find the well and Williams' would prime the pump. Williams' made no mention of bringing my well up to city standards( as ALL of the well people had). She did not care how long these steps would take and made it clear that THERE WOULD BE NO GUARANTEE THAT THIS WOULD WORK. Message to me: Tough! The risk was all on me. Hired Hogan's well company, who found and restored my well for $1500. I wondered why he had to have permits and inspections, when the plumbers never produced a permit for the much larger job. Called the city , who advised that not only did Williams NOT have a PERMIT to do my plumbing, they had no LICENSE to touch my well at all. Had I known this, I could have planned better. For those of you who think rules and regulations are bad, and that government is irrelevant, then "Caveat emptor"...let the buyer beware. The only ones in my corner were the honest well guys and the city employees with Permits and Inspections.

Description of Work: Williams Plumbing Heating & Air Conditioning replaced my chimney. The condensation from air conditioning ruined the chimney work, and we had to replace the whole chimney.

Description of Work: This last trip was to service the air conditioner. I have a service contract of $250 a yr. for them to come out twice, once for the furnace and once for the air conditioner.
