They are late by 15 minutes and they charge 129 for simply disconnecting a section of the plumbing, dump the stuff inside and then put it back on, on top of their service fee. I chose them because of all the other reports and I felt it was a mistake.

The plumbing technician was very friendly and was conscientious about keeping the work space clean. He also had to go out of his way to obtain a special valve for the external faucet because there was a HVAC duct that was impeding the clearance for a standard-size valve. The only real problem I had was that the sweated pipe for the hot water valve replacement sprung a leak inside the wall, less than 24 hours after the repair, so I had to turn off the water supply to the whole house until the technician could return the next day to re-solder the connection. In the end, these repairs required me to work from home for three separate days and I had to deal with the hiccup of the leaking pipe. All in all, I'm happy that the work was done correctly, but I wasn't wowed by the value for service.

I was very pleased with the promptness and flexibility of scheduling the appointment. The technician was very knowledgeable, professional and straightforward in his explanations. I was very happy with the service I received and believe to have found a reliable plumbing service I can use again.

I called Benjamin Franklin Plumbing because I believed that a puddle of water in my lawn might have been caused by a leak in the sewer line. The area of my lawn has ranged from damp to having standing water for over a month and the City of Durham has stated that it is not city water, which I do not believe to be the case. Benjamin Franklin Plumbing sent William to check on the problem. On the first visit, he checked for potential causes and then determined that he needed to run a camera through my sewer line and have the lawn marked to determine where the utilities were buried. He returned two days later and ran the camera through my lines and determined that there was no problem with the sewer lines or water lines between my home and the water meter or sewer cleanout. He also advised me as to how to resolve an issue with a toilet that was leaking. I will need to have someone return as I have been unable to resolve the toilet problem. However, I feel that the work was done professionally. He also provided written documentation of what he found pertaining to the standing water in the yard so that if I can ever get the City to check it again, I will have the necessary documents to provide to them. He did also present me with the opportunity to sign up for their service plan. While he didn't pressure me to sign up for it, he did present information that led me to sign up for this. Now I will have to see if the discounts are worth the cost!

They call themselves The Punctual Plumber. They did a really good job. They are part of a company called ACME Plumbing. I have never used them before. It is actually a franchise I believe, each person is in charge of their own operation. The one that I used were from Durham. They were reasonably priced. It wasn’t expensive. What stood out the most is after they cleared the drain they gave me some advice about how to keep it from getting clogged up again. They gave me some chemical, some kind of a stuff that I could put down the drain periodically just to clear it. They make their money by coming out and cleaning drains and yet they were helping me to keep it from happening again. They came out when they said they were going to come and they didn’t leave a mess. The guy was very friendly. I would use them again.

I had a backup in a downstairs toilet. I received a coupon from Ben Franklin and decided to give them a call. They were very nice and were able to schedule the appointment at a time that worked for me. I got a followup call when the technician was on the way. He arrived and instantly put on footies to protect my floor, asked questions about the problem and gave me some ideas on what the problem might be and what he would start doing.

Had a sewer backup. They came out the same day and fixed it, as well as ran a camera through my pipes to diagnose and confirm that the line needed to be replaced. Estimate of work was in line with other contractors. Good work. A little bit expensive, but generally good experience.

They were very professional and did great work. The guy that came out was fantastic. They are a little pricier than others but the quality of work was great and they were punctual. They did a really good job. We would use them again.

Our sewer line backed up over 4th of July weekend. They came in that day, diagnosed the problem, temporarily opened the access to relieve the line, then discovered tree roots blocking the pipe to the street. The only solution was to replace the sewer line. The cost was higher because they had to take out bushes and part of our driveway. Overall they were very professional and explained everything that they would do. They did their best to reduce costs as much as possible, with a job of this type. The one downside is that they ended up cutting our copper waterline. But they repaired it, and gave us the copper.

Their price was high. They did a very good job. Their work force and technical force is good. While working, they had to come back as they needed a lot of equipments and that was reasonable. They were fine but little bit pricey. I would probably use them in future.

I'm very happy with them. They came out on an emergency service call for our house sitter. I liked everything about them. They explained the pros and cons of the various options. They were also very efficient.

We had a 2 year service contract with them. The plumber sold unwanted things. They installed a water heater; which failed inspection and the inspector failed us the second time. The inspector had told the problem and wanted the plumber to call him. I then informed Benjamin Franklin Plumbing, who then sent another plumber and I had my inspection passed. I will never use their services in the future.

They were ridiculously expensive. They gave us an estimated amount of $600 I guess. They could pull it off and work for just $300. The plumber was really friendly. He seemed really nice but very pricey though. I would not use this company again in the future.

A company rep came and inspected my backflow preventer device, which had frozen over the winter as I had not known it needed special maintenance. It failed the inspection and had to be replaced. The company rep was friendly and professional, and the inspection cost , about $100, was reasonable, but the price quoted for the replacement of the device, $600, seemed high, so I got more quotes and eventually went with another company that did the job for $360. The second company's rep told me that one reason their cost was low was that my city doesn't charge for permits for this device, so his company does not load that into the total cost. Because the replacement cost would vary by device, the Acme rep perhaps overestimated the cost of the device alone; however. I would advise anyone having one of these devices replaced to price the device alone through Internet retail sites to get an idea of what the total replacement/inspection cost should be, and don't be shy about letting the service rep know you know the approximate cost of the device. By the way, the Acme rep told me that Acme and Ben Franklin are the same company, using one name for residential service and the other for commercial service.

They're really good. They were very timely and nice. I did another small job for me. I asked them quickly about a toilet that was running upstairs and they fixed it quickly without charging me. They're friendly, have quick service, and are reliable. The price was reasonable.

I called them because they were in Angie’s list. They were wonderful. They were so good. They were prompt. They gave me an estimate first. They were clean and neat. I was very happy with them. They gave me $25 Angie’s discount. What I appreciated was that they were so upfront. They came the next day after I called them. They looked at the disposer and told me that it could be fixed but it was not worth it as it was 17 years old. They gave me different options and told me how much my new disposer would cost. I chose the better one and they put it in. They were every clean and very nice.

They did a fine job. I would hire them again, but check pricing first.

I thought they were just fine. They did a good job and fixed the problem. I felt they were a little pricey but I don't really know how to compare that. It might have been just fine. I did expect to receive an estimate before they started in on the job. That didn't happen and I was expecting that communication. I have however, recommended them others.

I didn't use them again because they were overpriced. They were also trying to sell me a new hot water heater. That was three years ago, and I still haven't needed a new hot water heater. I wasn't happy with them, because I felt they were trying to sell me something I didn't need.

I was very happy with them. I recommend them; they're very honest people. They have a great manager there. They're always on time and everything else.

We will definitely use them again for other projects. Their representative was friendly, professional, knowledgeable, and explained to us everything he did in detail. He showed up and never stopped working until the jobs were done. I have recommended them to several neighbors. I am so glad we used them.

The faucet is fairly old, at least 20 and maybe over 30. Roto-Rooter tried and failed to fix it, said an entire new faucet was needed. Ben Franklin was not only able to fix it, but because they ran a couple of hours late, did not charge me at all. Aside from being late due to being held up on another job, the plumber was very professional.

We originally called Ben Franklin Plumbing because our shower wasn't draining. When Shawn arrived, we discovered the problem had fixed itself. Shawn was happy to take a look at our other plumbing issues (toilet needing 2 flushes, kitchen sink backflow sometimes, old water heater) and give us his professional advice on maintenance. He also provided a quote for a tankless water heater, and patiently answered all of our questions. Excellent service, would use them again.

The bathroom remodeling and replacement of pipes cost me $3000. However, I have spent $25000 on them over the last 4 years. They have been excellent to work with. They have been extremely helpful and professional. I would highly recommend them. I have been extremely pleased with them and so, I continue to use them. I recommended them to a lot of people. I will continue to use them in the future.

They did a great job and went above and beyond the call of duty. The pricing was fair and they were on time.
