It was a nightmare. They told us that we were on budget then surprised us with an approximately 10% overage on the last bill. Once we resolved that issue, they started to complete the punch list work. They stopped doing that work and left us with a leaking deck that grew mushrooms on the underside, a sewer pipe that leaked into the house, a basement that leaked and many other small punchlist issues to complete. We agreed that we would only ask Westwood to do work that the architect thought was reasonable. The architect stated that (with the exception of a few items that would cause more damage to fix) all of the work we were asking to have completed was reasonable. Westwood Custom Homes refused to complete the work and then sued us for the retainer. We hired other contractors to perform the work that Westwood refused to perform. The cost for the repairs was more than the amount we retained. We have lived in the house for over 2 1/2 years and are still waiting on a trial date. It has been one of the worst experiences of my life.
Description of Work: They built a custom-built house.
