I was referred to this company through the Duke Energy web site in my search for assistance with "fixing" some cold spots in my home. Marcus from the company evaluated my home by going in the attic and crawlspace and taking pictures, listened to the variety of my concerns and questions and proposed some various options (including 1 that did not cost me anything at all) and provided just overall good information and advice about the best solution and the economical aspects of each option. We ended up going all in and investing in our home by adding a lot of blown insulation in the attic and adding additional batts in the crawl space that we hope will fix our comfort issues as well as make our home much more energy efficient. The installation crew did a great job and were very professional, respectful and cleaned up well.

Standard did a great job on our insulation project. They were very responsive and completed the work quickly. I would definitely recommend them!

VERY HAPPY with Standard Insulating. They gave a very competitive quote. They were able to do the work around my crazy schedule. David was very considerate of my budget and offered to do the work in stages at no extra cost. They did a really good job of cleaning the house after blowing the insulation into my attic.

Very professional... company was easy to work with. Reached out immediately after request for services. Came out to view the site on the next day and provided a reasonable quote. I had to adjust the install date a few times and they were more than accommodating.

David Engler came over on time and was very professional. David explain some of the insulating problems with a room above the garage that were not designed well by the builder. The next day he sent me two quotes one for insulating the room above the garage and another for insulating the entire attic. I am waiting until winter to decide what to do.

The attic really turned out great with the pink insulation completely covering the surface. Standard Insulation did an excellent job of working with the HVAC company who were installing a new AC at the same time. It was great they were so cooperative. The employees were very serious about doing a quality job, cleaning up before they left, and interacting with me professionally and also they HVAC company. This is the second house where we used Standard Insulating. Both times were were totally pleased and will used them again if we move again locally. The price was fair and work was excellent. The house is more comfortable and the energy bill is lower. All good.

The installation was fast and tidy, the guys actually put in a little more than was required and helped out covering an attic fan. Works so well we had to turn the heat off upstairs on really gold days last winter. Would recommend for any similar service.

Standard Insulating Company came out yesterday and did a job blowing 6 in. extra into the attic . The 2 fellows that were sent are Martin, and Marco and I think they do not feel the heat. They were on time very professional and courteous. Very in tune to what was to be done and did a great job. The extra room was wrapped with Foil Radiant Barrier and it made a big difference. Folding step in hall had a Tent with ripper and I can feel a difference there also. Great JOB

I was very pleased with the service I received. David inspected under our house and informed me that the insulation needed to be replaced. He didn't try to sell me anything else. He told me that the moisture barrier we had down was adequate. He also alerted me to an A/C leak and told me it was necessary to have that taken care of as well, so the new insulation wouldn't degrade like the old insulation had. The work to remove and replace was done quickly. They came when they said they would, and finished that same day. I also received a 5% discount for being a member of Angie's List, so that was nice. I recommend this company and would use them in the future.

The work went extremely well. The company did exactly what they said they would do at the price they quoted. The workers installed a radiant barrier using Fi-Foil, added blown in insulation and installed an insulated zip cover over the pull down steps access. During the past months, temperatures have been well into the nineties but the temperature of the attic has remained significantly below temps which were into the 120s in past years. The A/C air handler works in a lower temperature environment and the upstairs bedrooms are cooler than in past summers. I haven't done a quantitative check on electric bills but have noticed that the A/C does not run nearly as often as in summers past even though the temperatures have been higher outside. As far as the company's response, I contacted them on a Monday, the salesman showed up the following day, and the installers installed on Friday. WOW, what a response! I couldn't be more pleased with Standard Insulating Company!

He was refreshingly honest and told me my insulation was okay and didn't need to be replaced despite another company trying to sell me on an insulation job. He was also very helpful as we discussed possible issues and solutions.

Excellent. Paul (at the office) and the crew were extremely polite and welcoming to the business. I was given 100% attention and accommodated for despite changes to schedule due to weather, etc. Special care was taken by the crew to leave room for new HVAC duct work around the subfloor which was very helpful for the HVAC professionals to work around. Very professional and courteous staff. If highly recommend them.

At this time I have not had the work done. The sales rep was very easy to work with.

When we closed on our home in November of this year, one of the first things we wanted to take care of was replacing the old insulation that was original to our home built in 1984. With a HVAC system that is 16 years old and original windows, we needed all of the help we could get. Within a few days of contacting Standard, a team was sent to our home to remove the existing insulation. While being provided the option to have new insulation added the same day, we decided to use this opportunity to install new bathroom vents and wire the second floor of the home with Cat 5 and install an attic OTA antenna. The vents were done by another Angies List company (awesome as well) and I am happy we did it in this order as it made that install much easier. The removal team arrived at my home a few minutes early and after introducing themselves, the first thing they did was lay out plastic to both my second floor and utility room access points to ensure no dirt was tracked in my home. After they were done they spent a good amount of time cleaning up the site as well. Just this last week another team was sent to blow in the insulation. Again, they arrived early and went right to work laying down plastic and prepping the site. In about 2 hours they had the job completed and again swept and vacuumed all areas of my home they were in, including my entire second floor landing and every stair. Which I thought was an exceptional sign of caring about the job site..my home. Also to note, we decided to upgrade and get an attic stair cover as our pull down stairs have a small landing for storage and are happy we did. This removed a pretty big draft at the top of the stairs. In just the week since the job the biggest thing we have noticed is the stability of temperature in our entire home. We have just a single zone HVAC system on our 2,300 s/f house so there was a lot of fluctuation previously. Now, even with the up and down weather the last week the temperature is consistent and we're putting less stress on our HVAC system. Now, not only am I going to be saving on my heat and air but I am confident I am going to extend the life of my HVAC system due to not taxing it as much. The work is well worth the price.
