WES ( A TECH) IS VERY FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL.
Description of Work: THE AIR CONDITIONING UNIT FOR THE UPSTAIRS OF THE HOUSE WAS NOT BLOWING COLD AIR. I CALLED SUMMER AT HORNE AROUND 9:00 AM. SHE CALLED BACK AND HAD A TECHNICIAN (WES) AT MY HOUSE BY 10:30 AM. WES WAS GREAT. HE QUICKLY IDENTIFIED THE PROBLEM, REPLACED THE DEFECTIVE PART, ANSWERED MY QUESTIONS AND GAVE ME FEW TIPS ON HOW TO KEEP MY SYSTEM IN GOOD SHAPE. I NOW HAVE COOL AIR UPSTAIRS AGAIN. I DON'T THINK I COULD EXPECT ANYTHING MORE. THANKS!

THEY NEED TO BETTER DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEMS AND BETTER COMMUNICATE ALTERNATIVE SOLUTIONS TO CLIENTS. IT IS A WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY TO MAKE SELF AVAILABLE AND TO PAY FOR THE SAME PROBLEM OVER AND OVER AGAIN.
Description of Work: THE AC UNIT IN THE ATTIC WAS LEAKING ONTO THE BATHROOM CEILING AND WEAKENING IT. HORNE CAME OUT AND REMOVED THE CLOG AND CHARGED $130. TWO WEEKS LATER THEY HAD TO COME BACK AND THEY CHARGED THE SAME AMOUNT. THAT WOULD MEAN THAT WE WILL BE PAYING $260 PER MONTH TO MAINTAIN THE AC UNIT. THEY MENTIONED ON THE SECOND VISIT THAT A PLUMBER SHOULD BE NOTIFIED WHICH WOULD HAVE BEEN EXCELLENT ADVICE ON THE FIRST VISIT.

HORNE SENT AN ESTIMATE INDICATING A COST OF $1900 FOR THE 90% FURNACE, WITH A SEPARATE PAGE LISTING MATERIALS FOR THE WORK ON THE DUCTS. THE FINAL PRICE ENDED UP BEING APPROXIMATELY $2430 FOR A FURNACE THAT I WAS ORIGINALLY LED TO BELIEVE WOULD BE REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY. SOME WARRANTY! I SELECTED HORNE BECAUSE OF EXCELLENT FEEDBACK ON ANGIE S LIST AND BECAUSE OF A $200 OFF COUPON TOWARDS A SYSTEM . HORNE REFUSED TO ACCEPT THE COUPON, BECAUSE THEY SAID THAT A SYSTEM WAS A FURNACE & A/C UNIT TOGETHER, EVEN THOUGH THIS WASN'T SPECIFIED ON THE COUPON.
Description of Work: A TRANE FURNACE WAS REPLACED 'UNDER WARRANTY'. HORNE CAME TO THE HOUSE AND FOUND A CRACKED HEAT EXCHANGER; LEADING TO C.O. LEAKS AND CAUSED THE GAS BILLS TO SKYROCKET. HORNE SAID THAT THE ENTIRE FURNACE COULD BE REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY BECAUSE TRANE NO LONGER MADE THAT MODEL OF HEAT EXCHANGER. HORNE CALLED AND SAID THE WARRANTY ON THE FURNACE WOULD ONLY PROVIDE A CREDIT OF $400 TOWARDS THE REPLACEMENT OF THE FURNACE. THIS WAS BETTER THAN NOTHING, SO I AGREED. HORNE ARRIVED TO DISCUSS FURNACE MODELS AND OTHER WORK TO BE DONE. HORNE SAID THAT THE 80% FURNACE (CHEAPEST MODEL) WOULD NOT FIT AND PROBABLY COULD NOT BE MADE TO MEET CODE BECAUSE OF THE EXHAUST FLUE. THE 90% FURNACE WAS MUCH MORE EXPENSIVE BUT WOULD FIT AND COULD BE MADE TO MEET CODE. HORNE ALSO ADVISED THAT THE SUPPLY AND RETURN DUCT NEEDED TO BE FIXED BECAUSE THE INADEQUATE RETURN DUCT CAUSED THE HEAT EXCHANGER TO CRACK. NOT WANTING TO HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM IN ANOTHER FIVE YEARS, I AGREED THIS WAS NECESSARY.

HORNE'S RESPONSE TIME AND SERVICE WAS EXCELLENT! I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE.
Description of Work: I WAS PREPARING FOR MY SON'S WEDDING AND HAD SEVERAL OUT OF TOWN GUESTS. THE WEATHER TURNED VERY HOT AND I TURNED ON MY A/C FOR THE FIRST TIME THIS SEASON. OF COURSE, IT DIDN'T WORK. SO I STARTED CALLING DIFFERENT COMPANIES ON ANGIE'S LIST. HORNE'S WAS WILLING TO SQUEEZE ME INTO THEIR SCHEDULE EVEN THOUGH ALL THE A/C COMPANIES WERE INUNDATED WITH SERVICE CALLS THAT DAY. THEY ARRIVED AT MY HOUSE IN ABOUT 3 HOURS. THE SERVICE PERSON WAS VERY PROFESSIONAL/KNOWLEDGEABLE AND HAD THE A/C SYSTEM FUNCTIONING QUICKLY. I HAVE SUBSEQUENTLY SIGNED A MAINTENANCE AGREEMENT WITH THEM AND WAS VERY SATISFIED WITH THEIR TUNE-UP SERVICE CALL.

I HAD SOME HEAT BUT I HAD TO KEEP PUSHING THE RESET BUTTON START IT AGAIN. THEY GOT IT RUNNING.. THEY WERE EVEN KIND ENOUGH TO REMOVE THEIR SHOES AT THE DOOR BEFORE ENTERING.

IT WAS 100 DEGREES AND THE REPAIRMAN IDENTIFIED THE PROBLEM TO BE A MINOR ONE AND HAD IT FIXED IN 20 MINUTES FOR UNDER $100. A DIFFERENT COMPANY HAD BEEN BY TO EVALUATE THE SITUATION AND SAID THE UNIT SHOULD BE REPLACED AND WANTED TO CHARGE US OVER $2000. I WILL CALL THEM FOR FUTURE A/C SERVICING AND REPAIR.
