They called ahead of time to confirm their arrival and got here right on time as expected. The gentleman was very curteous and spent a good amount of time with us, reviewing everything about our furnaces. He diagnosed some issues which will need eventual attention, and made some recommendations about replacing an old humidifier built into one furnace. I felt they did an excellent job and everything seems to still be running well. I would definitely use them again!

Overall the job went very well. After we learned a hard lesson trying to save money with a word of mouth recommended installer, we ended up needing to replace a system only a couple of years old due to poor workmanship. Jon Horne, company owner, came out himself and paid attention to our needs, and in the end (we compared several large HVAC companies) had the best presentation, duct design, and understanding of the technical needs of the job. We are data driven decision makers and Jon made sure to explain all they they did in the design, and more importantly why it needed to be that way and how it would work. They were also able to accommodate future addition plans in their design, so when the time comes we can call Horne and they can come do the addition work with minimal trouble.

I called Horne Heating & Air Conditioning, who I found on Angie's List; I had no previous relationship with this service provider, and they responded the same day. I have electric heat, so shut off the circuit breakers to prevent the house from turning into an orchid nursery until a technician could respond. The technician was careful to wear shoe protectors each time he entered the home, keeping the environment clean. He went to the crawl space where the air handler is located, and quickly diagnosed the problem as being a defective circuit board. Unfortunately he did not have the needed repair part on his truck as the unit in my house was a less than popular brand, but the technician, Jason, was able to tell me what the cost of parts was, and provided me options for repair schedules; because I did not want to wait until Monday, spending the week-end flipping the circuit breaker to regulate my heat, I was able to pay a $70.00 same day premium for a courrier service to pick up the needed part at a general warehouse and drive it to my location, where the technician patiently waited until it arrived. Once the part arrived, Jason installed the new board and had my heat back and operating properly by 6:30pm.

Service Tech arrived on time. He put on his shoe covers and entered the house. From that time until the time he left, he kept trying to sell me something else, some additional services, emergency equipment, accessories, etc. It started when he noticed the intake vent in the hallway and wanted to know about my filter changing schedule, and the service the company provides to bring new filters to my house, He then when into the attic and performed the inspection / cleaning of the furnace. He told me about all of the ranges and tolerances and tests he performed. The service seemed to be completed OK. Then he started to try to sell me emergency shutoff valves for the air conditioner and for my water heater which is in the garage, a tent to cover my attic opening, etc. I understand there are numerous other services the company offers but I felt it was more a sales pitch than a service call.

The service tech was on time and very polite. He tested the furnace and air conditioner and advised me of his findings. The company was very professional.

Heating system was not working. Doug the service technician diagnosed the problem right away and replaced the thermostat. He also did a heating system tuneup which was included in the annual service contract that I purchased the same day.

With Winter approaching it was time to have the furnace serviced. When AL posted the furnace inspection Big Deal for $89, we thought we'd take advantage of it. We called to set an appointment for the following Saturday. The day before the appointment, the company called to say that we would need to reschedule since appointments for the special AL Deal had to be conducted during normal business hours. I failed to read the fine print on the coupon. We rescheduled for the following Friday and Mike arrived in the 2 hour timeframe as promised. He was polite, professional and went right to work inspecting the furnace. The inspection took about 40 minutes total and with the exception of a minor duct work issue, no problems were found. Overall, it was a good experience and we are now considering a maintainence program with them.

He changed our filters. He took a picture of a pipe that was busted so that I could see it. He got the part and replaced it for us. He also let me know that I need to call someone to get my chimney cleaned.

The technician was prompt and professional. He checked my 12 year old system and made some sensible suggestions. I am satisfied with the visit and would consider using the the company for future service needs.

They were very thorough and very prompt. We just won’t go to anyone else since they do most of the Air Conditioning work in most of our complex. Everything turned out real good.

Horne was right on time, and even called ahead to let us know they were on the way. The technician got right to work and spent at least 30 minutes going over the heading system from top to bottom. Once he was complete he let us know what the system looked like, and he even took a picture of the heat exchanger to show us what he could see and why he couldn't guarantee that it did't have any pinholes in it due to the age of the system. He recommended we install carbon monoxide detectors, which we did shortly thereafter. We set up an appointment with a salesperson for the next day to get an estimate on how much it would cost to replace the system. All in all it was an excellent experience with Horne. We will be using them again.

No story to tell - the serviceman came in and I presented him with the coupon - he asked if I had one or two furnaces. I saif two he indicated which one do I want serviced because the coupon is for one. I indicated it was for the heating system? he said one furnace only and I would need an additional coupon. I was not happy because the coupon did not say only one furnace.

The tech was very efficient & helpful in addressing the problems encountered and went beyond the mere tune-up and inspection.

As son as I purchased the Angie's List coupon, they contacted me to set up the appointment. I'm a procrastinator by nature, and had work and vacation plans that kept getting in the way. But they worked with me to squeeze me in as my coupon was expiring. Because of this, and their work, I would use them again.
