The service technician Trey Kerr arrived on time and I received a telephone call 1 hour prior to the appointment. He removed his shoes and did not leave a mess. He explained about Horne's various service plans, but was not pushy about signing up for them. He did the expected service and was prompt and professional.

Serviceman was neat, answered my questions, and most importantly, corrected the problems. Cost was a little pricey compared to other company I called first, but the other company didn't fix the problem at all, and was messy. I highly recommend Horne to others, and will use them for all future work!
Description of Work: I called Horne after another company had not corrected the heating problem I had (cool air from HVAC units). Horne checked, & found a faulty valve along with a faulty thermostat. They corrected the problems, & we finally got heat.

I had experienced terrible service from the company that had installed my 2 heat pumps & air handling systems. Even though I had complained to the technicians, management only called to try to "find out the problem" when I gave them a bad rating on Angie's List. The experience with Horne was a complete 180. The technician was awesome and dedicated to fixing my problem and getting my heat back on. During his inspection, he pointed out things done/left undone by the former company. He fixed them with a smile, made sure I got the use of my Angie's List coupon, provided me with a list of products & services he could provide, and sold me (without any trouble) an annual maintenance plan. They were slightly more expensive than the prior company, but it was well worth it. I highly recommend this company.

Excellent service from Horne again. The techs are professional informative and don't waste time getiing in and doing the job. They are on time and call ahead to let you know they are on the way. I highly recommend them.
Description of Work: Had routine maitainence on the furnace. A switch was ready to go out and the tech broght it down and explained why it needed to be replaced.

Our gas heater had been working sporadically for a couple of months. Called Horne on Friday, Jan 25th (icy day) and expected to be told we would see someone the following week which actually would have been fine as we had other heat sources. Originially spoke with Chris Horne and within two hours on that same day one of their techs, Doug, came by and quickly figured out the problem. He did not have the part with him to repair it as we have a system they do not normally sell but he was able to repair it enough that it worked flawlessly until they were able to come back out on Tuesday, 1/29 to replace the part for us. A very good experience and we will be giving them a call as we build a new house later this year.

The technician arrived as scheduled, performed the inspection and tune-up, and explained everything so I would understand. I am often of the opinion that services like this will try to find things wrong, in order to get you to buy things from their companies - in no way was this the case. I feel I got value for my money and, therefore would use them again when something does go wrong.
Description of Work: This was an inspection and simple tune-up of 2 furnaces using 2 coupons + $25 (for heat pump, as clearly stated in the offer).

I purchased an Angie's List special to check and tune up my two heat pumps. It seemed to go well, with the Horne rep. being prompt and courteous and professional. I appreciated the recommendations he provided after the checks for potential improvements and maintenance issues. The checkups went rather quickly and I wasn't observing his work, so I can't be sure what was actually done, but the rep. definitely seemed to know what he was doing by his comments afterwards. His company's maintenance plan was very expensive, so opted against it, but the company's filter shipping plan seemed quite good.

The technician that came out, did not do the quality service that the other technicians have done in the past. I was not happy when he left! We train our technicians to provide the same quality service to every client, at every appointment, every time. We are disappointed to read that your expectations were not met at this most recent service. The 90 day tune-up service window has been in effect with Horne for several years. It has only recently been enforced as a result of clients that do not schedule seasonal tune-ups after many, many reminders; then demand immediate response to service issues that would have been prevented by performing the tune-up in a timely and consistent manner. We hope this does not discourage our clients, but rather encourage them to complete these important pre-paid seasonal tune-ups. Bottom line, it appears as though we did not provide 100% customer satisfaction. I will review this with our service team as an opportunity for consistency and improvement. Two weeks later, one of my furnaces stopped working. I called them and they came back out. The lady on the phone said it would be a $90 charge to have them come back out. When they came back out, they ended up waving the trip charge because they found a lose wire. I am unclear of the exact story. However, one of the technicians said they had left a wire loose and they diagnosed it as a figure of the high temperature limits. When they reattached the wire, they said it still wasn't working. They did charge me for the part which was $182. Also, they told me someone would come out at a certain time. I was down in the basement cleaning up around the heating unit and I missed their call. When I called them back, it took several attempts to get someone back out. Once I finally reached someone, it was 7pm before they could get the correct, qualified technician out. They didn't have the part on them and it was three days until they got the part in stock to install it. When they initially came out and before the completed the service, they wanted substantially high dollars for cleaning the humidifiers or an air filter. They wanted $55 each for cleaning the filters and $80 for cleaning each of the humidifiers. It would have cost me another $270 for a complete tune-up. Any other company I have had out for a furnace tune up has included these services. The people who came out were very nice. However, I won't be using their service again because of all their additional costs.

Our organization wishes to clarify a few items noted on your report: Our team performed the Big Deal tune-up as specified on the coupon (this service does not include system accessories). 2 weeks later we did respond to a service call and advised you there would be a charge only if it was not related to the recent service visit. Our technician did indeed find a mistake related to the tune-up and corrected the loose wire at no charge... however... there was also a parts failure diagnosed on this older system, which you agreed to replace. This diagnosis occurred on New Year's Eve and there were no supply house available on New Year's Day to procure the necessary part (hence the wait time). Our team prioritized the return visit, and made the necessary repairs to get your system back on-line. As I understand, there have been no service issues since. We appreciate any and all feedback, and will certainly use this as an opportunity to improve. It is unfortunate some of the finite details of the service visits were omitted from your report. It turned out well. They did a really good job. They were professional and on time. On a different occasion, we had some problems with the thermostat where it wasn't showing the temperature and working properly. They were able to diagnose the issue over the phone and tell us how to change the batteries. They saved us about $100 in service fees. I thought that was very good customer service. We plan on purchasing a new unit from them later this year.
Description of Work: They did a cleaning and inspection of our air conditioner. There was a follow up visit with one of their sales representatives for an estimate on a new air conditioner.

Everything went smoothly and punctually. Our particular technician has serviced my units previously and is familiar with them, the house and even my dogs, who don't frighten him and who do want to follow him around because they are curious about what he's doing. He changes the filters and recommends other types of services that Horne offers that perhaps I might consider in the future but doesn't hard sell me. That's appreciated.
Description of Work: This was the annual autumn service/cleaning call for our 2 heating/ac units. The technician spends over an hour inspecting each unit and makes sure both function perfectly. He changes filters and traces or repairs any problems that have cropped up since the spring service of the units. I prepaid for this contract so this call cost me nothing on the day of service.

it The service tech arrived on time and was very cordial. He did what he needed to do, then afterwards went over what the service entailed and showed me photographs of my humidifier pad which was extremely dirty. He also suggested that I might consider having my duct work replaced. I knew it needed to be repaired so this was not a surprise. The company later made an appt for someone to come out and give me a quote on replacing the existing ductwork. There wasn't anything that I would say they should not have done. Everything was very professional.

I saw an Angie's list special to have our heat checked for the winter. The technician arrived on time and quickly went into our crawlspace to tackle our gas heating unit. He noticed some problems with our drip tray and air intake pipe. We needed to have a pipe connected to allow fresh air into the crawl space. He fixed both problems perfectly. After seeing how professional Horne was we also had them reroute our gas dryer vent to the outside. They arrived on time to fix my problems and were also respectful of my large dogs. I will use Horne for any future heating/air problems.
Description of Work: Horne's technician was very knowledgeable and professional. We had a dryer vent routed to our outside which had to be cut through brick. The new vent was put in a discrete place so it is not an eye sore off the side of our house. It works perfectly. We also had Horne put in a fresh air pipe that connects from our gas heat under the house to the outside. While installing the new pipe they notice a problem with our drip tray. They also fixed this problem which prevented us from having future problems. Great technician. He spent several hours making sure our heating unit was in tip top shape for the winter.
