Description of Work: I purchased an alarm system with all the bells and whistles. I got a quote in writing, and I paid them what they asked. After two failed appointments, they offered me part of my money back rather than me not get the service. I agreed to this. They installed the alarm over a 3 day period and came back to work on it 6 more times, still not getting it working right. I guess no one could read the instructions that said that you must set the thermostat to electric if it is electric and not gas. This caused my brand new heat pump to run for three solid days while I was out of town, and then caused it to blow a fuse. I set up and apt for CPI to come out to meet with my A/C people but CPI failed to show up yet again. A total of 6 no shows in 3 months. CPI gave me a total of six months service for all the problems. So when I called to verify how much time I had, ( I had prepaid for one year for service) They said I only had prepaid for six months of service. I sent them the receipt 3 times that clearly states that I paid them for one year, and they still wont give me what I paid for. Be very careful if you use this company, for I will probably have to take them to court.

Description of Work: Buyer beware. We signed a contract for 5 years with CPI on 10/26/11. We were told that we could transfer service to another location if we moved,as we were planning on listing our house in in 2012 so this was very important. We sold our home in October 2012 and found out CPI does not do business in Virginia. The result was that we had to pay out the contract in the amount of $1,543.12. We were responsible for signing a contract without asking what states they serviced and paid the price. We just did not want anyone else to have our experience.

Description of Work: This job was for upgrading the existing system and rerouting the monitoring service to CPI from my previous monitoring company. There was no pushy salesmanship when I first contacted CPI. The technicians did a patient 2-1/2-hour thorough job. (I've got to add this: they even brought their own vacuum cleaner and cleaned up after finishing the job.)

Description of Work: Security and Fire alarm put in. I had a fire and alarm system installed 3 hours ago. The gentleman that walked me through the process to get things started did an outstanding job. He was very knowledgeable and showed me what I needed. Very nice man. Three items closed this deal. 1) My son has and likes them 2) They are highly rated on Angieslist 3) Their monitoring is done in Charlotte and not out of state like the other one that I almost went with. If I have a problem, which I am sure I will not, I could climb into car and drive to see them. I realize that in this world with electronics we are all connected but I want my monitoring local, period. I am a computer geek and technology person and what they put in was great and I loved the features. I can’t speak to their competition as I have not seen their stuff. My memory of trying to deal with out of state and worst still out of country costumer service is horrible. This will not be possible with CPI. PS: 49 above is monthly charge plus I purchased some equipment. It would not let me put in per month.

Description of Work: The sales person was very nice and enthusiastic about showing her product. She was more interested in what I wanted to have installed rather than giving her professional opinion about what was needed.

Description of Work: EMAIL SENT 3-10-03 WITH NO REPLY: "ON JANUARY 20TH I HAD AN APPOINTMENT FOR A NEW MONITORING CONTRACT. I HAD THE PRESENTATION AND SIGNED A CONTRACT FOR THE BASIC INSTALLATION PLUS 5 ADDITIONAL CONTACTS. I WROTE A CHECK FOR $451 ALONG WITH A VOIDED CHECK FOR USE IN THE DIRECT WITHDRAWAL FROM MY BANK ACCOUNT EACH MONTH. AS I HAVE HAS SOME CREDIT PROBLEMS IN THE PAST I ASKED MY SALESMAN WHAT WOULD HAPPEN TO MY CHECKS ON THE OFF CHANCE I WAS NOT APPROVED. I DID NOT EXPECT IT AS I OWN A HOME AND PAY A MORTGAGE AND ALL THE BILLS THAT GO WITH IT, FOR THE PAST 5 YEARS. HE INFORMED ME HE WOULD LET ME KNOW AND IF NEEDED, WOULD RETURN THE CHECKS TO ME PERSONALLY, BUT HE DID NOT SEE A PROBLEM. I DID NOT HEAR FROM HIM SO I THOUGHT EVERYTHING WAS OK. HOWEVER, THE SYSTEM WAS SUPPOSED TO BE INSTALLED MARCH 8TH AND SURPRISE, NOBODY SHOWED UP. THIS IS LOUSY CUSTOMER SERVICE. I WILL INFORM EVERYONE I KNOW, ALONG WITH MAKING A FULL REPORT TO ANGIE''S LIST. YOU HAVE BREACHED A SIGNED CONTRACT
