Monthly monitoring was OK as long as we were paying, but once we called to have them end our service as we were moving, I have seldom seen such atrocious customer service. That whole experience soured me on ever recommending them or using them in the future. Do yourself a favor; get a dog for your security instead of CPI.

For the most part it went good; the engineer installing the system disagreed with the sales rep who made the original call and then found out that a wireless unit couldn't be used for one component and it would have cost more to add that in.

ok BUT FAILED TO INFORM ME THAT THE PRICE WOULD GO UP AND UP AND UP EVERY CHANCE THEY GOT...AND SAID I SIGNED A 6 YEAR CONTRACT B*******!

The alarm is a known issue. There have been at least 4 activation calls for the same issue and police dispatched. I have a service call scheduled. Today, I missed the call and called back to the number & option given. The operator for the response team verified my password, said that it appeared that service was calling (i do have a service request in place), and without allowing me to speak, transferred to the service area. I spoke to a manager who said he would review the audio. However, the is the level of service that is constant and, now, expected.

Love the security service they provide. I have never had a false alarm. Lost heat in unoccupied vacation house in January 2015 and my CPI iPhone YFI showed me. Got HVAC tech there ASAP in time to prevent freeze up. Temperatures were the lowest in 45 years. Big deal. Allot of money could have been lost.. Family member returned from Lake house this morning (Feb 2) and left heat too high. I fixed to the standard unoccupied temp to save money VIA CPI YFI and my iPhone. If you get home and can't remember if you set alarm. Check via YFI, simple. Their distinctive signs in my opinion are superior to others that provide a service like this. We have CPI on 3 houses,. One under contract to sell in 3 weeks. One a small 2 bedroom vacation home. I depend on CPI and the services they provide. I have been offered the chance to switch to other security services but declined. People (techs and when you call in) are there on phone quick with right answer and very friendly. PS: I think the security monthly is 39 with 10 for YFI. PS2: I can only check 1 home below but have 3 now. One to sell in next couple weeks.

We use CPI Security Systems Inc for alarm systems. I am paying 49 dollars a month for 5 years. They are responsive to my needs. To other Angie's List members I would ask them to make sure that they are comfortable with signing a long term agreement. They are responsive to my needs.

It went very well, very professional, the sells person arrived on time. He went over the special packages. We did not go with these options. And added upgrades, and payed for service in advance. That explains the cost. The installer was very nice and took the time to explain things very carefully. He was here for at least five hours and was very careful and considerate of our home and my 10mo old grandson. He explained why he had to do things a certain way on the install, and informed me of where he would be drilling in the home before he actually did. We have had one response issue since the system was installed while out of town. CPI lived up to their promise, of a fast response time. Lucky for us it was just a wind/door issue. So far my husband and are happy with the service. And feel very secure leaving our home to travel out of town now. Also knowing that this service provides fire/and medical assistance alerts is an added security if we ever need it.

The service not good. We are stuck with it because the cost of switching the equipment is too high; and they know that. Their cost is okay. The equipment is old and aging and it keeps breaking, but they are just not willing to replace it.

I started using them when I bought the house about 6 years ago. It always works, and when I had a problem, they came right out to sort it out. I haven't had any problems with them, and I am happy with the price. It has never gone up for as long as I have had them.

Overall id say i love Cpi. They take great care of us no matter if its a question or concern. I love the fact i can set everything from my devices. The only thing that really bothers me is somtimes the cameras and other devices stop working randomly But they always come fix the problems for free.. But that may just be me and my equipment. Other then that i recommend them to everyone.

Our alarm system was mis-triggering with strange beeps. Turns out the CO sensor went bad. This is eventual for all CO sensors; They will always need replacing within 1-3 years. Why doesn't the alarm panel detect this and tell us that is the issue instead of sending out false alarms? The technician was fine and performed his work quickly and respectfully. I was just annoyed that something that *will* happen isn't accounted for within the automated alarm system.

I like CPI Security Systems Inc's new equipment and package that they have. They had everything in wireless and it works a lot better. Personally I think as a security monitoring enterprise, majority of the time they don't have to do anything but sit there on the computer, but some of them are in this business to make money, and I think CPI Security Systems Inc were little bit of priced but not terribly though, there are some that are cheaper, there are some which are much more expensive.

I really like CPI Security Systems Inc. They do a good job.

We bought a home that had an existing CPI system installed. I called to have the service activated. The salesman was very friendly, but glossed over the fact that he signed me up for a 5-year contract. I had scheduled the the technician to come out on a Saturday and was told the tech would be at my house "around 2:30-3:00". Five o'clock rolls around and tech did not show nor did I receive any call or notification. I called them and the phone rep looked up my info. I was basically told that since it was after 5, I wasn't talking to a Customer Service rep, but was talking to a system monitoring rep. (But it was an automated system that sent me to him). He told me he was going to speak to his supervisor. The supervisor came on the line and told me that "I can help you with that"...and sent me to voicemail!!! I called back and after being on hold, the line rang twice, I could tell someone picked up, and as I said "Hello"..I was disconnected!!! I called back again, and this time I spoke with a very nice rep who apologized profusely. At this point, I was upset enough to just cancel my service request. She informed me that she couldn't refund my money and I would have to wait until Monday. I spoke with my original rep on Monday and he offered 2 months free monitoring for the incident over the weekend and I agreed to let the tech come out. The technician that came out was also very friendly and he was the one that actually pointed out to me that I was signing up for a 5 year contract. I know that if the original rep clearly stated the contract length, I would've backed out...I just wouldn't sign a contract that long...especially if the consequence of breaking the contract is that I still have to pay the full amount! I declined service and didn't sign anything the tech gave me. I called back the next day and explained that I was not made aware of the 5-year contract and the rep I spoke to was snarky and said "well if he didn't tell you about the 5 year contract, I guess you don't know that we have a 3 year contract too; would you be interested in that?" I was sent back to my original rep and he did not try any tactics to talk me into keeping service and did process my cancellation and the money was promptly refunded back to my card after a few days.

Pretty seamless installation, on-time, cleaned up, explained the system well. Fortunately I have not had any break-in attempts over the past year to test it, but use it every night and on vacation. The industry in general is a good money maker for the sellers, but I believe CPI is the best around. I mistakenly believed that after one year I could drop the responder service and have local-only, but they're smarter than that and will remove complete functionality upon dropping the service :(. disappointing. The 39 month agreement was $100 less in the install, but now my 1-yr term is over and I am free to stop any time by paying the higher $199 up front, instead, for that upgrade install, etc. I like CPI's iphone app so I can arm and disarm from anywhere. I also liked that the first week of the plan they had me on a false-alarm friendly set-up so that they called me within seconds of a trip so I can tell them it was ok, or else they dispatched police. Once the family got the hang of arming/disarming we reverted to the std response scheme. my only regret is the cost every month. If finances get tough for some reason, I can always cancel I suppose, but likely will tough it out unless we cave in and get that German Shepherd I always wanted (but that's not cheap, either!)

Very professional from start to finish. We were approached by a sales agent in our neighborhood who reviewed all available options and made appropriate recommendations without any pressuring or "scare tactics". Installation was timely and done with minimal interruption of our time. When first technician was unable to remove our deadbolt to install keypad lock, he immediately called another installer and arranged for him to come the next day to install the new lockset. I really appreciated how each employee we had contact with was in uniform and wore ID and made sure we were an active part of the activation of the new system. I highly recommend them

I did not use the service as the tech who came to install stated that the quoted system could not be installed, and it would be an additional cost to make it work

When I called CPI and asked them to finish incorporating the lock into MY system, they informed me that since they hadn't installed it, they would not help me. I offered to pay to have them come to the house to inspect it and then install it, but they have been totally unresponsive. On the upside, when we have accidentally tripped the system, they have been johnny-on-the-spot in responding to it. If you know exactly what you want, as I did, you will have to take the installer through the complete installation (as I failed to do) before he opens his toolbox. I have the protection I wanted, but not the convenience. I am disappointed that CPI's customer service, Quality Assurance, and CEO have each and every one of them had the opportunity to correct the situation but have not even had the courtesy to return calls or emails or postal letters. Unless you have a very plain-vanilla situation, prepare for a headache.

BEWARE OF THE CONTRACT!!! I was immediately interested in the product, as the presentation was smooth and the demo performed beautifully. After signing an installation order and the representative left, I realized that I had signed a lengthy, fine-print carbon contract on the back side of the equipment and payment details, which was not referenced or acknowledged during the presentation. After reading it very carefully, it became apparent that the contract is very different from the promises made verbally in the presentation. I immediately wrote a letter of cancellation, sent it certified, and cancelled my check with my bank. I called the salesman, who had little understanding of the contract, and he referred me to his supervisor, who referred me to the main office. In a couple of lengthy conversations with a representative in the Charlotte office, I raised these concerns: -the service agreement and repair costs promised in their slide show is NOT in writing, and is contradicted in section 17; -the promise of false alarms being covered by the company is directly contradicted in article 7; -the promise of consistent monthly rate for a contracted 5 years (which is higher than industry standard) is directly contradicted in article #13. -I had a few other concerns personally, so I asked for references. It took two weeks to tell me that they could give only 2 references out of thousands of clients, and NONE of their contact information was ever shared. This product might be awesome, and I wish I could enter a fair agreement in confidence so I could become a satisfied customer, but caveat emptor! You may have a hard time asserting your rights to what is verbally promised if this contract is not updated and clarified!

I chose them because of the price. The company is the reason I like them.

So far I have no problems with those folks. We built a new home so they worked with the builder and wired the new home. It was turnkey so I have used them ever since we moved in here. We have not had any problems and know they are there because we test the system occasionally. We like the way the system was set up; it has a voice thing back and forth and key words. We feel fairly secure and they seem to be more personable and closer to their work than a larger competitor we used at another location. But they are large enough to be professional and provide 24/7 instant service.

I am very pleased with the system and the service. I would recommend them.

I set up an appointment with a CPI representative. He arrived on time and brought some of the equipment to demonstrate. He was friendly and professional. He explained the system, answered my questions, but did not pressure me to purchase at that time.I decided to purchase the CPI system. Installation was done within a few days. the installer was on time and quite competent. He was patient when we were deciding upon locations. He explained the system and answered my questions fully.A "quality control" person arrived later to inspect the installation. There were no problems. He also answered a few additional questions. I have accidentally set off the alarm twice and the monitoring station responded quickly over the two way communication system.

I've had my CPI In-Touch system now for about two weeks and I couldn't be happier. I called on a Monday and had installation set up for that same week. The sales representative was very nice and professional and listened to my concerns and recommended a great system for my needs - nothing above what I truly needed. I was very pleased with the sales process. On the day of installation, Tyler called to tell me he was on the way. He was wonderful and great to work with. He never rushed through anything and took his time to explain everything. He made sure we tested everything on the touchscreen, app, etc. so that I was comfortable using everything with the system. Overall, I went with CPI to begin with because of the name recognition and I'm thrilled with my decision - I truly have peace of mind.
