We have not had any problems with the service. When we accidentally tripped the alarm, the company called us right away and made sure that it was a false alarm. The only issue that I have with the company is that they frequently call us (many times a year) to "verify that our contact information hasn't changed." I'm not sure why they feel the need to keep calling us to make sure that we have not changed our address or phone number - it gets to be a little annoying.

CPI locks people into expensive long term contracts by providing shoddy equipment up front for free. The equipment requires expensive, hard-to-find batteries and is not high quality. After almost 4 years of a 5 year contract, I am getting married and moving out of state. Despite the fact that I cannot take the equipment with me, and CPI does not operate in the state I am moving toward, they are going to continue to charge almost $40 a month for over another year. CPI has terrible customer relationships and I would NEVER advise anyone to work with them.

WARNING!! Be aware that if you purchase an alarm system and sign up for monthly monitoring from CPI that you are signing up for a 60 month contract!!! They do not disclose this up front, and if you wish to cancel your service prior to the 60 months they will stick you with an early termination fee. I had my service with them for 3 years, and decided to switch to a cheaper monitoring company. I was informed by CPI that I would have to pay over $700 since my "contract" was not up. When I informed them that I did not have a contract, they said that I signed up for 60 months. Apparently there is some "fine print" on the "work order" you sign that commits you to a 5 year contract. However, this was not disclosed at the time I signed the work order. I canceled my service anyway and disputed that I had signed a contract since it was not disclosed to me up front. If it had been, I would not have purchased their service. CPI informed me that I could not cancel my service verbally, that I had to submit it in writing. Also, they said that a tech would have to come to my house and remove the "speakers" that were CPI property. It took almost 3 weeks to get someone out to our house to do this, and when they finally send someone it was a salesman, not a technician. This guy tried to talk us into keeping our business with CPI. He took something off the system that now keeps the alarm inside the house from going off if the alarm is tripped, and they also messed up our phone lines. They now refuse to come back and fix anything until we pay them $200 (I have no idea where they got this figure). MY RECOMMENDATION: DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH CPI!! YOU WILL REGRET IT. THEY HAVE NO INTEGRITY.

The installation went well, although it took a little longer than expected. (I'll blame the plaster walls for that last point.)The sales person and technician were very knowledgeable and were able to come up with some great solutions for us. Everything is working fine so far.

Saleswoman was bright and articulate. Service person came on time and did what he was supposed to do in a workmanlike manner and cleaned up afterward. I have had occasion to call the co. for clarification and received a swift an d courteous reply and they called back later to see if everything was OK.

The installer arrived on time and once we got all the placements down, he worked straight thru the day - very energetic and knowledgeable - work was done as per discussions and agreement. Price was exactly as promised. Equipment exactly as promised. They do clean up after themselves when done. All works well so far (it's only been two days). CPI was recommended by a few on a mailing list and by friends/co-workers who also seem happy with them and their service. Also rated well on Angie's list. This is why I chose them. So far, I'm happy with the response, quote/information, equipment/installation, and service.

The installation went fine. Subsequent to the installation, the company has dropped the ball several times. 1) I faxed them my direct withdrawal information. Subsequently, salesperson leaves voice mail looking info. I leave message that I faxed it to him. No return call from him, but customer service calls looking for same. 2) Called customer service to have them walk me through increasing volume on keypad; two separate people were unable to do it, and in the process, the steps they told me to take set off panic alarm and police arrived. 3) Scheduled customer service appointment on Tuesday between 5 and 9 to come out to fix keypad. Service tech calls around 7pm and says it's late and can I reschedule for Wednesday between 5 and 9. I agree, on Wed., CPI calls at 10am and asks can they come now. I can't leave work, so he says he'll have someone else come between 5 and 9 on Wednesday. No one shows up or even calls. Total lack of communication in company.

I have a system with a speaker, so if the alarm ever goes off, they come on the speaker and ask what your password is and to identify yourself. After you do this, they then make sure that everything is okay, and see if they need to send anyone out. They are good. I also call them when I go on vacation to let them know I'll be out of the house and to be aware if the alarm was to go off. The approximate cost listed that I pay is per month.

We are very satisfied and haven't had any problems with them. They call every so often to do security checks which I think is very thoughtful. I feel very safe using their services. I don't have the price or the agreement information because my daughter pays for the service.

I am not happy with the installation as they put outlets breaks in places where we did not want them. We now have to have those places dry walled over. We have also had a wiring problem and the alarm malfunctioned but the problem was taken care of. The monitoring is okay and we have not had any problems with it but the price is a little high.

When they originally came out for an estimate, the guy was playing on our fears. He tried to sell us more features than we needed but we really think the company does a great job. They remind us to test our system and if an alarm goes off, they call us immediately.

I truly have never had a problem with this company. They do what they promise to do and they are cheaper than some other places out there. That may be because they are not as large or notorious as some of the completion. I'll tell you what though. They are very responsive, very cordial and very easy to get in touch with. Those things make me not want to seek another alarm service company any time in the near future.

The office was nice enough, but the representative that came out was exceedingly rude. Apparently he had been called at the last minute although the appointment had been set up for about a week and wasn't happy about it. He failed to advise us of all of the options available was seemingly annoyed when I asked about specific things. Both my neighbor felt he was extremely rude and we ended the meeting in a matter of minutes.

Salesman was a bit pushy, had trouble contacting him. Had trouble getting installation scheduled. Customer service rep. was a little rude. Installer was very courteous and professional, and have been very happy with the service since installation. The few times I have accidentally set it off, they have called withing seconds, giving me a huge sense of security. Since I am a single female living by myself, that is more of what I paid for than customer service.
