All City Heat and Air

All City performed an excellent job installing my new furnace and AC unit. Jeff was punctual when arriving for the initial quote. He inspected my HVAC system and confirmed what other vendors had found, my furnace coil was leaking, the system was old, and in need of replacement. Jeff provided a fair quote and answered all my questions about my unit and HVAC. After performing analysis of several provided estimates from various companies, I found All City to have provided the best overall value. The day of installation, the crew showed up on time, were professional, and respected my house as they performed the install. Once complete, Jeff showed up to perform QA and inspect the crew's job. He also answered my additional questions. A week later, the County Inspector came to inspect my new unit and told me that the installation was performed correctly and that it met all County zoning codes and regulation. I will do business with All City again.

Jeff from All City was great. He quickly diagnosed what turned out to be a minor problem (a mouse chewing wires in my unit), fixed it and got my heat working. When the same mouse struck again, he came back by and reconnected a wire that had fallen out free-of-charge. The whole process was very enjoyable and I will gladly recommend All City to anyone looking to have HVAC work done in Charlotte.

Everything was good, it was quick and seemed simple enough.

Very well. The furnace was found to be in good condition. We discussed the ducts and I was told it would be best and least expensive to wait until we replaced the a/c unit to do duct replacement. Very informative technicians.

My heat went out last night and I started calling from Angies list, Heating and air providers. The 1st call was answered by a service and they said I would receive a call back in the order it was received. (3 hours later, I am still waiting). I decided to call another and was lucky to speak with Jeff. I knew it had something to do with the brakers, and I thought I tried all of them. He said he could be out in 30 minutes. And he was! Yes, it was a simple fix, but in doing so, he informed me of another issue that will need to be addressed with my system. Being a sceptic, I thought ok, here comes the pitch. When I asked him how much he thought it would cost, he informed me that he would have to check with the owner(?). No- "this has to be fixed now for the tune of $500!" it was just an fyi to be aware of. No immediate fix necessary. So, with then temp in my house hovering at 56 degrees, I didn't really care what the cost was going to be. Expecting somewhere in the $250 range (it was a Sat service call) I was blown away (with warm air!) at the charge. $69.00. All City has earned my business for any service needs I have. I am a repeat customer, this time for an investment property. Jeff and team understand customer service and are great in consultation, scheduling, installation and starting up the system. They also fixed duct insulation in various spots and made sure all elements of the system, including the old ducts were in tip-top shape before they left. Bryant systems don't come cheap but are high quality and offer long warranty periods. In this case they come with a trustworthy HVAC service company: All City Heat & Air. Highly recommended.

HVAC Cleaned and repaired 7/13/15 and returned when I had a problem they fixed it under warranty immediately. Service and professionalism are excellent.

I returned home from vacation only to find out my upstairs air conditioner was not working. I call All City Air on Sunday, morning and Earl answered the phone! That was customer service for me as I was expecting a recording. Earl came out that afternoon, throughly explained the situation and provided me options. My air conditioner was over 30 years old so I went ahead and asked Earl to replace it. There was no hard sell. His crew came the next day at the time that was set up, were totally professional, Quick and seemed to enjoy their work. Highly recommend!

Very professional, honest and knowledgeable. We use them first because we couldn't reach the company we used previously. We were so impressed that we use them again when need it.

Our AC stopped working during a heat wave. I contacted All City to set up and appointment and they came out the next morning. Jeff was right on time, he quickly diagnosed the problem and had it repaired in about 30 minutes. The price was fair and I was very happy with the service.

Air Conditioning was not operating in our place of business. Our current service provider was booked up for next four days and was not be able to provide service until then, even though we have a Premier Service Agreement that we bought with them. I spoke with Ashley who was very understanding of our situation and worked diligently to help us. She put me on hold and within 5 minutes, she had spoken with Ernie (one of the owners) who was willing to work us into his schedule to look at our system. Ernie was working in the field because Charlotte, NC has been in a heat wave for about 3 weeks now and it was all hands on deck to help customers. Ernie showed up promptly within 2 hours of our call to All City Heat and Air, he then got on the roof in 95 degree heat to check our unit, next he found out that our belt was loose (should have been caught by our current service provider when they did our maintenance about 5 weeks ago). Ernie tightened the belt, tested the system to make sure all was running correctly. Only charged the normal service call fee of $129.00 and all seems to be running great.

The Technician was very professional, courteous, and he took his time explaining what the problem was. I was able to see and understand what was going on. He did an excellent job repairing the issue. This was an emergency job because of all the water in the hallway and in my living room. He showed up earlier just to help get the job done. I will definitely call him again if another issue comes up.

Cleaning went well. I was told I had a problem and needed a repair. I turned down the service because I have a warranty service. The warranty service came out and couldn't find anything wrong with the compressor. It's still running today, June 17, 2015. Makes me wonder who is telling the truth.

All City quickly responded to my call with a rep to my home the next day. Ernie showed up earlier than expected after calling to make sure it was OK. When your AC is messed up, early is good! I found him to be very professional, honest and knowledgable. When the inevitable day comes to put my existing unit out to pasture, All City will be the first call.

When I called the company this morning I reached one of the owners directly. He told me to turn off the unit and was able to schedule me in for early afternoon. When he arrived he was very professional. He checked and replaced filters, and then noticed that there was ice all around the outside unit that had begun to melt. The unit was low on freon but due to the age of unit (15 years old) he advised that we do not sink major money into the unit. He refilled with freon and made sure everything was in good working order. Ernie was very honest and did not try to add on lots of extras to drive up the cost of the service call. We would highly recommend.

All City Heat and Air installed a split air conditioning and heat system in my addition, they did a great job!! The wire and freon lines were tucked neatly behind the wall for an extremely neat clean looking installation. Ernie was very knowledgeable and polite, he explained the process and even made recommendations that saved me some money!! I would highly recommend All City Heat and Air to anyone needing a top notch contractor!!

He did a really good job. We'll probably use him again. He was very patient with us because it was a very labor intensive job. He was timely, very friendly and very honest.

Ernie provided the semi -annual service and indicated the system was getting old but working fine - no problems noted. Several weeks later, we placed a service call as the fans was making a noise. Ernie was off that weekend and JEFF arrived at our house, After inspecting the system, JEFF indicated the fan and several other components were problematic and the entire system should be replaced, I asked him to provide a quote - which he did (extremely over-priced for a mid range, lower end BTU furnace). I asked JEFF for a detailed breakout on labor and material. JEFF indicated that he does not price his work that way, did not know the cost components and proceeded to tell me that it was against tax code for him to provide that level of detail to me (come on JEFF - do you really think the consumer is that naïve)? We then proceeded to get significantly more competitive bids from other HVAC providers noted on Angie's list ( several that indicated the furnace did not need to be replaced - the fan just need adjusted). When I told JEFF that we would quote the system with other companies - he indicated he would need to shut our system down unless we showed him our carbon monoxide detectors - which we did and then asked him to leave - as he was clearly upset. Interestingly enough - I look back at our service records and found the last major repair cost we had was when JEFF provided service several years earlier - interesting??? If Ernie ran the business with out JEFF - we would still be customers. We have always found Ernie honest, responsive and will to go the extra mile to for the customer. However, our experiences with JEFF was not acceptable and I find it difficult to do business with JEFF based on his lack of transparency and honesty.

This is our second time using All City, and we'd use them again!

I was happy with the service overall (it's taken me >6 months to write a review), had a good feeling about the guy who came out - I believe it is his company. Seemed honest/trustworthy. I've had my reservations about some of the bigger players in the area for HVAC so I feel more comfortable working with one or two people rather than a revolving door of techs, etc.. I had a fair amount of sticker shock about the cost of R22 at $125 per lb. but it seems that is just market forces at play. I felt the capacitor replacement was a bit on the expensive side at $195, but it's probably not out of line with what other providers charge.

Everything went great and awesome service by the techs...
