I called them on 11-19 am. They told me the service charge was $85. and if they did the repair that amount would be credited to job. I had previously had the gas company out to turn the gas on at a rental property. The gas company inspected the property and said there was a leak and gave specifics as to where they were. I forward this to Acosta prior to them coming out. When the service tech came out he said he did not have the proper tools. He said his boss had told him what he had on the truck would work, but when he got there he looked and said "what I have won't work". He was to return on Tue, but did not return. He came back on Wednesday after I made several calls to the office. I was told their computer system was down on Tuesday and they had some problems. On Wed afternoon he finished the job and said he would charge my credit card an that the office would give me the credit. I called the office and spoke with Dawn and she confirmed. A month later I get the bill no credit.
Description of Work: Replaced a portion of the gas pipe in crawl space.

Acosta has only professionals working for them. All of the men that came to our house were well trained, very presentable, took the time to answer all of my questions (a lot of questions!), were pleasant to be around and to have in our home. All of the workers that come to our home were careful of our carpet and furniture, and were 'regular' local guys. Thanks Rafael, Tom, Jim and Curtis! The system we chose was expensive, but after running the numbers and taking into account the quality of cooling/heating/air distribution, Ascota had the best overall package, and what made the decision easier were the people that we had already dealt with during the proposal stage. I checked with two other companies and researched the heck out of this before going with Acosta.
Description of Work: Replacement of our upstairs furnace/air handler, and outdoor compressor. Added two additional vents to our ductwork. Enlarged the return vent from the bonus room. Reworked ductwork in our attic for more efficient air distribution. Installed electronic air cleaner. New thermostat.

This was the most horrible service experience ever! After arriving instead of performing the tune up we had ordered, the tech wanted to sell us a new heating unit so badly that he vandalized our existing furnace. He told us that we had a cracked heat exchanger and so he had to turn off the unit (to protect us from potential carbon monoxide poisoning) but he neglected to turn off the gas. He then told us what new units Acosta had for our purchase at a cost of thousands of dollars. We were puzzled about this and upon looking we found no crack in the heat exchanger and saw the mess he had made of our unit (ripped wires, etc). When we called Acosta to ask that they return that night to put our unit back together (temp was below freezing that night), no one came out until late morning the next day. The next day, 2 techs were sent who produced a popped rivet (not mentioned by the previous tech). I feel as though Acosta tried to sucker me!
Description of Work: We called Acosta Heating & Cooling to perform a tune up on our gas furnace. Instead of a tune up, the technician tore apart our unit (literally ripping wires from their spade plugs and tearing a hole in the duct work). ($89)

I have used Acosta before and have always been satisfied. I'm a bit concerned about some of the work they performed this time but I know if a problem develops they will make it right. At first, they sent out Chris, who was extremely hard working, polite and honest. On the return trip, I learned that Chris was no longer with the company so Charlie came out instead. Charlie finished up the work Chris had started. They were both concerned enough to take as much time as necessary to do a good job. Acosta is rare in that I know I can always count on them, while so many other service companies are just a nightmare to deal with. Acosta is not cheap; their prices are in some cases much higher than their competitors advertised prices, but I don't dare try anyone else just to save a buck.
Description of Work: Performed service and repairs identified as needed during the inspection of our newly purchased home. Also, sold us maintenance contracts for two gas furnaces and two central air systems.

Acosta has been great to me so far. I cannot say I have ever had a major problem for them to rectify but I am pleased with what I have seen so far. They seem to be very reliable and friendly. I would have no problem recommending their services to others at this point in time.
Description of Work: Acosta comes out each fall and spring to service my heating and air conditioning units in my 2000 or so square foot house. I pay a yearly fee for this service.

Called Acosta at 8:30 AM to schedule service call, said someone would be at my house after 4:00. Received call from service tech at 4:05 that he was headed my way. At 4:30 he was here and within 30 minutes he was all done. Super service.
Description of Work: Air conditioning unit was not cooling. PJ from Acosta came and put in more refrigerant.

I had no trouble scheduling an appointment. Rafael came out and spent a good deal of time explaining the different Trane options. I did not understand exactly how a heat pump worked. He offered a very detailed explanation of the compressor and the air handler. He was not in a hurry and took great care to ensure all my questions were answered. He used a laptop to calculate the correct system combination for our home. I had three estimates from different companies for the exact same set of Trane components. I compared the installation process and warranties of all three. Since there was virtually no difference between the companies, I made my decision based on price. Of the three companies, Acosta was priced in the middle.
Description of Work: We received an estimate for the replacement of our upstairs heat pump.

A service representative came to the house at very short notice: just 2 hours earlier we had called. Our gas heater was not working the previous day but began working again the morning we called for repair. He cleaned some areas but found nothing out of ordinary. He explained that if we called again there would be no charge except for parts needed and reminded us that they could be out the same day we call if problem reappears.
Description of Work: Heating unit was inspected and cleaned after we reported it was not heating.

P.J. diagnosed my heating problem to be a failed wall switch. He did quote a price to replace the switch and also gave me the option of replacing the switch myself without a warranty. I had a spare switch available that I installed while P.J. gladly waited to make sure that was the problem. Following installation, the furnace was in great working order. I am thankful for the thorough diagnostics by Acosta and the flexibility to allow me to install my own switch in order to save some money.

They came out to give estimate. Did not choose to go with them since they tried to sell me more than I really needed and indicated that what I wanted couldn't be done. Ratings below are for work performed, not for estimate provided.

We had long ago contracted with Acosta to service our two rapidly aging heat pump systems. They did so regularly and efficiently. We were pleased with their work but really had nothing to compare to. When we decided to put in two brand new systems, we narrowed our choices down to Acosta and one other group. Acosta came out to quote, very business-like, and followed up by phone once. They were not as accommodating as the other group on price, warranty, or product selection. Had they been friendlier, they may very well have gotten our business but we chose the other company. Acosta was a solid #2 choice.

WE DO CALL BACK AFTER THE ORIGINAL PRESENTATION, AND ASK THE CUSTOMERS THERE ARE ANY ISSUES WITH OUR PROPOSAL THEY WANT TO DISCUSS VERSUS ANY OTHER COMPETITORS. PRICE, WARRANTY OR PRODUCT SELECTION WAS NEVER BROUGHT UP IN THIS CASE, THEY SIMPLY SAID THEY WOULD CALL US BACK. WE DO NOT DO ANY PRESSURE SELLING. WHEN A CUSTOMER SAYS THEY WILL CALL US BEFORE THEY DECIDE. WE TAKE THEM AT THEIR WORD.

Company rep came out the same day we called. He was on-time. He diagnosed the problem and told us the cost. He fixed the problem, did a check to make sure it was working. Collected the money and was out in no time.

Brent from Acosta arrived on-time and was very polite. He quickly identified the problem (a blown fuse...how embarrassing!) and got my A/C running again. While he was there, he also checked my thermostat batteries, helped me correctly label the fuse box and checked out the general "health" of my A/C unit. The $312 also included an annual service contract...which is something I really needed since I hadn't had my A/C serviced since I moved in three years ago. Brent took the time to explain what he was doing and gave me tips on keeping my A/C unit running smoothly and efficiently. It was a very positive experience.
Description of Work: My A/C stopped working. An Acosta Heating rep identified and fixed the issue.

1. Acosta failed to give service discounts promised in annual maintenance agreement. 2. Acosta failed to honor a warranty on a defective thermostat. 3. Acosta wired a new thermostat incorrectly. They charged for a service call to correct (unsuccessfully!) the wiring problem they caused. Ultimately, we had to call another HVAC company to wire the thermostat correctly despite being under service agreement with Acosta. 4. The failed on multiple occasions to return calls concerning billing and warranty issues. We made many calls to Acosta asking to speak either to Mr. Acosta or any manager. They were never in and they never returned any call.

1. THE INVOICE CLEARLY SHOWS WHERE TECHNICIAN GAVE THEM $16.00 DISCOUNT ON THE REPAIRS. 2. THE THERMOSTAT IN QUESTION WAS OVER ONE YEAR OLD. WE OFFER ONE YEAR GUARANTEE ON ALL REPAIRS. 3. THERMOSTAT WAS NOT WIRED INCORRECTLY, WE DID GO BACK AT NO CHARGE AND REPROGRAMMED IT TWO MONTHS LATER AT NO CHARGE. 4. I HAVE NEVER RECEIVED ANY CALLS OR HAD ANY MESSAGES IN MY VOICEMAIL FROM THIS MEMBER. THEY HAVE, HOWEVER, SCHEDULED THEIR MAINTENANCE CHECKS AS LATE AS LAST DECEMBER 13TH AND NOW FILE THIS COMPLAINT 15 MONTHS AFTER THE FACT. ZEKE ACOSTA.

They always make sure our filters are clean. One time we had a problem with mold upstairs on the unit in the attic, and they were very good about taking care of it.

I had used this company in the past & had purchased an annual service contract. Rodrick was on time & even removed his work boots before entering my home. He was courteous & answered all my questions before performing work. I was happy with the work performed.
