Leicester Carpet Sales

Had an 8X10 woven rug sized to 7X9’7” by binding the edges. This was a striped rug which was not easy. Also purchased a very good pad for the rug that would not harm my wood floors. Everything was cut to measure & turned out absolutely perfect! Fortunately for me it was done the same day by a very friendly professional staff of knowledgeable men and women. I did not purchase this rug at their store...great service.

We recently purchased a townhouse in Asheville as a vacation home to be closer to our daughter that had recently moved there. The unit had been a rental unit for 10 years and need several upgrades. We contacted a chain store and Leicester Flooring about estimates. The chain store was not very responsive but Leicester Flooring came to measure and provided an estimate within a few days. The work was scheduled to be completed approximately 2 weeks later. They had complication on the job scheduled before ours and the work was actually completed a week late. Once the work was started, it was completed promptly and the workmanship was excellent. While they were not the cheapest bid, the quality of work was worth the extra money.

Sent agent to our house for measuring. Then sales quoted a price. Flooring was installed as agreed. Vinyl installed properly except overcut in one corner and corner rounding installed was not satisfactory. Then sent us an additional bill for services. Additional charges created a conflict concerning the amount of corner rounding and glue needed for job. After complaining and sending photos of work done, billing did issue a small refund for the job.

Installers were fine- the company was unorganized  - misquoted the job - told us higher price - called back later and said they misquoted that price and raised again. Carpet and tile were to be installed on same day - they called to say carpet had a "HOLE" in it (some excuse) and had to reorder - then called back to say they had a cheaper color - lower pile same color at $5 less per sq ft - and asked if we wanted that???????  rediculous question- how to say yes when we never saw?  I am not the village idiot here - Last time to use this company - as I said sub contractors are fine - company is inept

The installers loosened floor boards without repairing them before laying the carpet causing the floor to squeak. They also caused a light fixture to fall. I cleaned up the glass, and the installers totally ignored the problem. Called the sales representative 3 times before I got a return call, and he told me they did not cause the squeak problem, even though I never had a squeak before they did the installation. Sales rep said he would send the installer to the house, but that never happened. Totally dissatisfied with Leicester Carpet Sales.

The crew applied leveling compound to flatten the floor on the first day. The second day they installed the engineered hardwood flooring.  They did an excellent, professional job of installation.

I needed protection for Hardwood oak floors (1948) that we had refinished. 87 year old Mother with Alzheimers and bladder control issues for bedroom. I called around and they had the carpet pad I needed.

They were responsive to the issue and were able to accommodate our schedules for when we were in town. They came and re-installed the carpet. They did the re-installation at no charge because the carpet was under a life time warranty. The technician who did the installation was knowledgeable and a miracle worker! I was very pleased with the work. Since the carpet was re-done there have been no issues.

The initial installation seemed to go well, except for a very small bump in the middle of the kitchen floor. We decided we could live with that rather than having them completely replace the flooring. About two years after the installation we had a water leak in the small bathroom. This required replacing the flooring as water had gotten under the vinyl causing discoloration. When the contractor removed the toilet, he mentioned that the wax seal hadn't been installed correctly. This was not the cause of any problem in that bathroom, but was worth noticing, as you will see.
About a year later we noticed mold discoloration around the toilet in the other bathroom. It became obvious that the seal around this toilet was leaking. We had to pull up a section of flooring in the area between the toilet and the shower which we are replacing with tile. About four square feet of sub-flooring around the toilet was wet, causing the vinyl flooring to become moldy. Again, the contractor showed us that the wax seal was not installed properly and the toilet mounting bolts had not been tightened sufficiently.
We are going to contact Leicester Carpeting today to see if they will accept responsibility for the repair costs we are incurring. I will update this review with the results.
Update: I called Leicester Carpet to inform them of the situation. Unfortunately we did not call them first, as they have a life-time warranty on their installations. Since the repair is already completed they cannot view the damage and are therefor unable to compensate us for the damage.

It went badly. I would never recommend them to anyone. They say they stand behind every job, but only if you pay for the repair. How is that right, even when their own person says its a bad job.

The attitude of the sales people I loved. They had two installers and I have never seen two people work so hard in my life. They just did a first class job. Everything is looking fine.

Went very well. Installation took 2 days.  Installers were excellent and very hard working.  Good product quality and installation.

I liked that they were willing to work with me and let me do some of the work.  I moved the appliances and baseboards and tore up the old floor so they just came in and did the difficult stuff.  They were great price-wise and with everything else.  I plan to use them again in the future.

They had a guy come out and do the carpentry part and another crew came in and did the staining.  They all did an excellent job. They were all very courteous, very professional, and very clean and they did not make a mess.  They did a beautiful job.  I would use them in the future.

I had to go buy the carpets and have them bind it. Then I came over and had Leicester Carpet Sales install it. I went out to two places and Leicester Carpet Sales quoted half the price of the others. They were very friendly to deal with and did a good job. They charged me about $525 for the carpet and the installation. There was one service person who came out. He was very friendly and responsive to what I asked him to do. He was very fast and assertive. There was one minor thing with that. I did call them several times and I didn’t necessarily get an immediate call back. There were a couple of times when I had to call them twice. When I did get the people on the line, they were very friendly and very responsive. One of the ways they saved me money was that they offered to sell me a remnant. So, the carpet was cut from a remnant. That’s why it was cheap. It’s a benefit they offered to do and I would grade them highly for that. It was kind of an accident that they had one that was suitable. The other carpet place was twice their cost. Leicester Carpet Sales had some carpet that was left over, but it was still a brand new carpet and hadn’t been installed anywhere. They had enough left. The other savings was that their service was a lot cheaper than the other place. It was substantially cheaper. I would definitely use their services in the future too.

I comparison shopped for home carpet replacement and received a low bid from Leicester Carpet Sales (Hendersonville store.) I was treated well and satisfied with the purchase experience. Our installers arrived on time and were friendly, focused, professional, and did a satisfactory job. A week after the installation of our carpet we discovered a "lump" under our carpet in a bedroom. I called the local store to report the service issue but was told I'd need to speak to my salesperson who was unavailable that day. I called back a week later and spoke to the salesman who said he'd send the installation crew right over. After waiting two weeks I called again and was told the installers would be in touch with me to schedule a repair visit. Three weeks later I still had not seen or heard from the installers. I located the company web site and submitted a complaint on their listed form. The following work day I received a call from a polite lady who apologized and said she'd have the installers over that afternoon. They came, spend 10 minutes locating and removing a metal nut under the carpet. They were most apologetic but did not indicate that they had ever received notice about my need.
This company is local, established and one I'd like to highly recommend however potential customers should be aware of this c**** in their armor. Hopefully it has been addressed and permanently repaired.
]We're satisfied with the carpet and initial installation. We're disappointed with our first needed service response timeliness. I hope my carpet never requires aditional attention. If it does I'll contact management early on in the process.

We went to their store and we picked couple of colors. We asked them to come out to our house and measure our basement. They were here a couple of days later to measure our basement. They told us the total price and we asked them to reduce a little bit of it, and they did. We arranged an installation date, and they came according to us. There was a little problem with the installation, but they took care of it, the next day. We will use them again in the future.

Price was right, and installer did a fine job, gave me options on some rot under toilet, Job came out better than I was expecting. James
